Surgical Outpatients

Surgical Outpatients
Not too long to wait, which was pleasant change compared to Medical OP in past visits - admittedly several years ago.
Pleasant staff, answered all questions in understandable way. As in, not all medical speak.
Certainly hoping my next visit will be as pleasant.

I visited someone in the newer part of the hospital which is well designed, warm & modern. The rest of the refurbishment though is taking far too long - it should've been addressed years ago! It's not good enough & is embarrassing for the beautiful Taranaki region I was born, raised & still live in. I really feel for the staff having to work in the other archaic, cold & uninviting buildings, not to mention the patients & visitors. Shame on successive governments/district health boards for not caring & forgetting about us.

The nurses who looked after me were so kind and friendly, they helped me looking after my baby when I was staying in the hospital after giving birth. Really appreciate all their hard work, thank you so much!

Unless you have run of the mill illness the doctors are useless. Waited all day for CT ordered at 9am.5 hours later still waiting, doctor turned up saying radiology had turned it down. No one told me. Was nill by mouth all that time as no one new if I could eat or not.

Nurse are the best, patient and kind. Doctors are awesome, everyone here has given me heaps of information about whats going on and what will be happening. Hospital food is well Hospital food, but the cafeteria has some of the best food I have bought in a long time. Nacho a pleasure to eat, best I've EVA bought, scones n sandwiches soft and just lovely. So glad to find food made with love in such dumb times!!! Thank you cafeteria staff.

Arrived at Ed at 7.30pm called in at 10.30pm. Got blood tests done and waiting till 12 midnight. No body came in to see after blood taken out by nurse. Seriously lack of responsibility, we are in emergency department things should move at a fast pace. Nurse just walking around. Reading boards or chatting with each other. Nurse started shift at 11pm decided to have break at 11.35, come on people are waiting to be looked at or check on them. That what you are getting paid for. STOP WASTING TAX PAYERS MONEY. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY
