1 of the the amazing experiences of my life ...2018 August special appearance by John Williams and Salvini family as my host
Takes very good care of it's patrons, as well as very friendly staff!
Amazing venue. Beautiful outside location, and very organized parking
Beautiful grounds, lots of good food choices during event hours. My boyfriend and I go yearly, for the John Williams Film Night. If you are on the lawn prepare to be there early to secure your place in line and get a good spot on the expansive lawn area and also be prepared for any kind of weather!! We got soaked the first year and the concert was paused for a time so people on the lawn could take cover from the spectacular thunder storm. We make sure to secure imdoor tickets now
I love Tanglewood, my favorite place to take in any kind of concert. Saw Yo Yo Ma with the BFO most resently, and it did not disappoint. Even though we had seats inside we got there early just to eat and walk around and enjoy the grounds.
awesome place. You can bring your own beverage or buy some there. Hassle free
Great venue for summer concerts, with awesome acoustics and nice view
Warm summer night and the BSO playing Bernstein... Priceless!
Lovely venue. Sitting in the lawn with a picnic dinner or lunch adds to the experience. Well organized so access to and from is not a nightmare.
Nice option for the summer.
Good music, highly recommended
Awesome place to see music, especially if you are bringing small children. The lawn is beautiful with cool old trees and they allow you to bring a full picnic spread with a cooler, chairs, umbrellas, blankets, pretty much whatever you want! They also upgraded our tickets unexpectedly when we picked them up at will call for the Jerry Garcia symphonic concert, although the lawn is better for kids and picnics.
Great concerts, love getting lawn tickets and just laying in the grass letting the music wash over me
I went to my first concert at Tanglewood about 2 weeks ago and saw the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The grounds are beautiful old growth trees paths to walk on a beautiful lawn to sit on to watch the show the atmosphere is casual and fun. I had a great time and can't wait to go back
You should check the seasonal schedule every Spring. Make sure you get some lawn tickets for the best concert. You will not regret it.
Amazing grounds, all around amazing experience every year. Must-do for us every summer.
An incredible music venue for the symphony or James Taylor. Picnic on the lawn and then enjoy the show.
I went to Tanglewood for the first time, I must say had a fantastic experience. I went for the Earth, Wind & Fire concert. The peoples energy was fun and happy. Everyone got along sung, danced with each other whether they knew each other or not. Would go for other concerts in the future.
Had an awesome time with our kids and my fiance at the Reba McEntire concert it was definitely worth the ride in the money we spent for the tickets even though we had found out afterwards that the person selling us the tickets to an agency had overcharged Us by $70
A true Music Park. Beautiful Lawns Landscaping trees topiary mazes. Concessions are a bit expensive
Tanglewood is the perfect venue for an outdoor music experience.
Great venue to see a world-class organization perform at in a very comfortable atmosphere. You can focus more on the performances by being in the Shed, or just enjoy a nice summer day on the grounds with music accompaniment. They have programs to get a younger crowd in with cheap tickets; search for 20 under 40.
Beautiful facility. Concerts on the lawn are crowded but fun!
One of the best places to see live music in the Berkshires!
Every summer my family and I spend at least a couple of evenings here. Whether is the Boston Symphony Orchestra, James Taylor, Yoyo Ma, or Earth, Wind, and Fire, nothing can match the beautiful atmosphere of Tanglewood!
How can you beat a place that has great live music, lets you bring in your own food and drink, and has an amazing view? You really can't. Tanglewood is incredibly popular for good reason.
Early season at Tanglewood but the scenery is breathtakingly calming. Do come visit and see for yourself
I have not been to Tanglewood in quite a long time. I had forgotten how beautiful the grounds are. The music is the draw and the venue is the icing on the cake.
Didn't understand the wine and beer gardens and didn't know I could bring my own.
This is a truly wonderful venue. A real icon in the Berkshires.
Love this venue!!! We go to so many concerts and this was our first year at Tanglewood and saw three concerts here this summer. Our only complaint is that we were told we couldn t take photos or videos. The artist then stopped the show and said... We see many of our fans being approached and told not to take photos/videos. We want you to know... take as many as you would like... and share them!! I am a big fan of taking photos and videos... it helps to keep memories! I was very disappointed, Tanglewood. Please look at your policy and consider revising it. Many of the attendees love taking home the memories and may consider other venues for this reason. Otherwise, we loved the grounds, the seats indoors, the lawn seats, being able to bring our own food/drinks to enjoy on the lawn, and the pleasant staff (other than those telling us to put our phones/cameras away). I give you four stars for this reason only.
Such a beautiful experience setting up your own picnic on the lawn and be amazed with such wonderful views and music.
Beautiful setting, friendly staff, divine music. Tanglewood is a treasure that we are fortunate to have. We enjoyed many concerts there and will definitely come back for more. It is a great destination for people who love classical music and beautiful outdoors.
A recent review complains of the dirt floor in the Koussevitzsky Shed. If there was a cement floor, it would ruin the world-famous acoustics. Tanglewood is the greatest outdoor music experience in the United States if not the world, and minor quibbles are out of place. We are regular attendees of three decades. It is the pride and joy of the Berkshires and one of the glories of the United States.
Fantastic Venue. Friendly staff awesome place to visit. A lot of people don't know the gate is open during the winter/year round, unless posted for storms and such, just to walk and enjoy the views and relax. So much hard work goes un detected by most, such as the lawn and plant maintenance, how they do it, I don't know but they pull it off in a spectacular way, every time, every show. Simply amazing.
The perfect outdoor venue for listening to the Boston pops and having them accompanied by my favorite movie Jaws on a hot summer night... picnic and champagne on the lawn..who could want for more? Not me!
Excellent place to come to be listening to Boston Symphony Orchestra. Beautiful views and the symphony
Tanglewood is probably the best outdoor concert venue I've ever been to..
First...no charge for parking?..I'm used to Saratoga where its ten dollars a car...second..i can bring in my own dinner, and not pay thru the nose for some lousy fried dinner...the lawn area was comfortable and perfect....and the Accoustics were also perfect..Couldn't see too well but I did get to Hear James Taylor loudly and clearly...Tanglewood and Bethel woods are my two Favourite outdoor concert venues!!!!
Had a great time very organized parking and leaving..
Beautiful setting, surprisingly great sound, very reasonable ticket prices, a truly wonderful place.
The views....clean air
.Beethoven"s 9th
A fantastic venue unlike any other. Beautiful grounds for a picnic with the kids while listening to the bso or the other great artists that perform there. Amazing acoustics too
Beautiful grounds and sound is fantastic. Do no rely on taxi , Lyft or Uber for transportation. We, along with about 25 others were stranded post-concert and the taxi service had promised us round trip service. Lyft and Uber are basically useless here. A surefire way to taint a lovely evening. Staff told us it happens all the time. Outside of that everything was perfect.
The Boston Symphony Orchestra and Mahler. What else could you want?
Called to inquire about the venue space but sat on the line for over 5 minutes with an automated voice that says please wait while i transfer your call every 3 seconds. It was super ANNOYING and I still didn t get through to anyone after dealing with the annoyance.
Tanglewood has beautiful grounds to enjoy a picnic and a unique setting for concerts. Always a great experience.
The sound quality is second to none. If you grew up going to Saratoga Performing Arts Center, this place sounds like SPAC used to sound. I saw the Goo Goo Dolls and Train at both Saratoga and Tanglewood a few weeks apart. On sound quality alone I would rate Tanglewood as a 9 inspect as a 2. It is a beautiful place with a lot of room to walk around and enjoy the Berkshire Mountain Countryside.
Tanglewood is the place to be in the Berkshires if you enjoy world-class classical music. On Friday last, the Boston Pops Orchestra provided the musical sound track to a Star Wars episode. The evening was delightful, the lawn was lovely and the people whom one shared the lawn with were accommodating. A picnic dinner doesn't get any better than this!
Can bring anything you want inside: food, booze, chairs, hammocks
Tanglewood is a gem in our Berkshires. James Taylor was awesome.
Lovely place to spend an evening having a picnic listening to live music
Gladys is the beat. Acoustics a bit off. So loud hurt my ears
Always a pleasure to visit for all kinds of events.
There is no other place like it. Loved the experience.
Another great concert experience at Tanglewood this time listening to Harry Connick jr.
Easy in and out. Very patron-friendly...picnic, coolers, all allowed. And we saw rock icon Roger Daltrey with the BSO and The Who band.
Bring your beer, you know what, bring the whole bar, they are chill like that. Coolers are go, for when you wanna enjoy the lawn for a good show. Just don't forget your sunglasses, to block the glare from all the bald heads ;)
Great, relaxing venue. Lawn seats are great from any direction. The food and drinks are a bit pricey but you can bring in your own when you sit in the lawn. Unfortunately, not when you sit in actual seats. Great acoustics.
