Tanglewood Music Festival

Everything was so uncomplicated. Parking was extremely organized with no stress so that a person can truly get excited about the event. Incredable experience.. Wonderful.

We love going to Tanglewood for a summer concert! Typically we try to go a couple times a year to hear the BSO or Boston Pops play. Weather permitting we bring a picnic dinner & sit on the expansive lawn to enjoy the evening's offerings. When we don't want to risk getting rained out, we buy seats in the Shed. Tanglewood never disappoints! A summer tradition for us!

A magnificent place to visit and enjoy the symphony for an afternoon. I highly recommend getting lawn tickets and bring your own chair and picnic stuff.

We loved visiting but were very confused by he way they handled inclement weather for free fun Friday. I had called ahead to check their policy and they said we should just bring rain gear to move between the stations and that we could sit inside with kids if it rained during concert. But it started drizzling and they had immediate shelter in place for hours. The weather wasn t even that bad.

The best of the very best. Magnificent orchestra in an equally spectacular setting. Had the privilege of being at "Tanglewood on Parade" this past summer. The entire day could not have been better and more musically fabulous.

Everyone loves Tanglewood as a music venue! We always picnic on the lawn for concerts. Bring food and drink, or buy it there. Plenty of options.

Absolutely the best way to spend a summer day. Buy affordable lawn seats. Then pack up some bread, wine and cheese along with a blabket to sit on and you're all set.

We have been coming to Tanglewood for 20 years, and we wouldn't miss film night with John Williams. It's an experience not to be missed.

It was an amazing experience listening to and watching Yo-Yo Ma live. We sat on the grass and watched the live feed on the screens. Magical musical evening.

The last show of the season with Steve Martin and Martin Short et al was fabulous. The grounds, views and entire venue far exceeded my expectations.

Superb music venue, park, rolling hills, school all summer season, with food service on summer weekends. International-class performance and cultural center.

Good venue, but need a way of moving air when no breeze. I was there on hot humid day, and left soaked to the skin.

A unique experience, world class setting, lovely area with many amenities.

Awesome accoustics, accommodation for the disabled (golf carts from the parking lot to the concert area and back, BUT A FAIR AMOUNT OF WALKING STILL NEEDED), variety of seating options. If you plan to stay in the area overnite, reserve early!

Parking lot was not good to get out of this year.. last year we were out In 5 minutes. No cooperation from drivers and had to turn left. Opposing direction we came.

The concert was great but visibility of the stage was poor. Also no permanent walkways so getting back to your seat often means stepping on people

Perfect summer venue for great music of sll kinds. A must if you are visiting The Berkshired.

Absolutely beautiful park! So much to explore and great views from all around. I would love to attend most activities held here. Extremely clean!!!

First time....can not wait to go back. Easy free parking, ability to bring in own food/drink/chairs is amazing! The lawn is the PERFECT way to spend a summer afternoon!

Why is it acceptable to have people waiting to exit a parking lot for over an hour and a half?!? The nightmare with the traffic exciting from Tanglewood will be the reason I don't want to go again

Great place to have a picnic while listening to classical music. They sell beverages, but they can only be consumed inside the beer garden, so make sure you bring your own wine.

Never miss a year... where else can you picnic in style and hear maestros with the BSO!

Tonight was awesome! Raining like crazy at times, sneaking peeks around umbrellas, Eating fried chicken, shrimp, and numerous array of goodies even to a hot mocha rum toddy the night was made special! But it was the company that made it all the best!! Thank you Ginny dear!! Of course with John Williams conducting you sat in the edge of your seat with awe and wonderment..What an evening!!

Beautiful surrounding, good food and entertainment. Just not able to hear dialogue but head music clearly.

Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, is among the finest venues for music in the whole, wide world. Go there when it opens next summer!

I was here the firth time. Very comfortable place. I saw a lot people around concert's place.

A must experience for music lovers in wonderful scenic area.

Wonderful atmosphere, great music! Heard James Taylor. Lawn seats were great. Brought our own picnic and chairs. Parking staff was very helpful. Everything was nice and clean. They do have food and beverages including alcoholic drinks available. The only drawback was the hour in bumper to bumper traffic getting out. Word of advice: get there when the gates open to get the best parking and seats.

If your event involves a movie and you prefer the lawn forget it. Needs a proper sized screen.

A great outdoor venue. Bring all the food and drink you want and get yourself a lawn ticket: it's the only way to do Tanglewood.

A wonderfully unique venue. You can get seats under the shed or lawn seats and arrive early and can come prepared for a picnic. There's no bad way to see a show here and it's a great place for the whole family!

This place was BREATHTAKING! My first time going there for Steve Miller Band and Peter Frampton! I couldn't get over how beautiful it was, how you could bring your own food, beer, and tables, candles.. the people were so chill and the vibe was amazing! I'm so happy I found this place I can't wait to go back and explore more of MA! Thanks for the amazing experience, it's one I will never forget even if it was very hot, it was well worth it!

Indescribably beautiful, relaxing on grass in descending twilight listening to classical music, surrounded by tall trees under stars!

Great experience. You have to take time to visit every corner of this place. Every musician or nature lover will love this place.

Coming from Boston, it's so refreshing to see a concert and not feel like I'm entering a jail going through security. Still a fun safe time!!!!

Don't buy a seat! If you stand up you get told off. The first concert I have EVER been too where this had occurred. A woman stood up to dance and enjoy the music and another behind her pulled her hair and demanded she sit down. Im.sorry but I go to concerts for a good time not to sit and listen to music. I can to that at home...

Beautiful music venue, sat inside the shed, to be honest I think a lawn seat and a well prepared picnic would have been more enjoyable. No food or drinks other than water are allowed in the shed. That my personal opinion though I can understand why some might want no distraction when listening to music.

It's a great way to spend a summer afternoon with family and friends - the campus is beautiful. Pack a picnic and you're good to go. Do get there a bit early so that you can get a coveted spot in the shade

First time at Tanglewood. We came with our two children, ages five and two. We had a great time. The kids played a lot on the lawn. We heard the Boston POPS play the music from Star Wars: A New Hope by John Williams. Great performance. I was pleasantly surprised by all the healthy eating options.

A superb setting for concerts by the Boston Symphony Orchestra during the summer. Also offers pops concerts and special shows by contemporary artists. You can sit in the shed or picnic on the lawn. If you arrive early, ticket holders can enjoy a separate free concert. Every fourth of July they offer a fantastic day long celebration of our nation's birth

One of the finest venues for music in the summer. Go hear/see the Boston Symphony Orchestra -- Sit on the lawn (add a picnic) or sit within the Koussevitzky Music Shed (for better acoustics). Tanglewood has a rich history, which you can learn about in the houses on the beautiful green grounds. Nearby town of Lenox has many dining options. Make a weekend out of it, whether coming from nearby Boston, NYC, or elsewhere. FYI, performances are not just limited to orchestra--check out the listings for more (e.g. James Taylor, jazz, Boston Pops, etc.)

Amazing grounds, even better music. Extremely memorable experience. I was lucky enough to see the BSO and Yo-yo Ma. Miss it already, and can t wait to return!

The music is fabulous...with the exception of several modern pieces. The grounds are lovely to walk and enjoy, the new TLI is beautiful, food is good...its a wonderful experience.

Tanglewood is a special treat. If you are able to get away to see them one of the best things you can do at Tanglewood is to see a open rehearsal. Tickets for open rehearsals are inexpensive. You can get seats close enough to the conductor to hear him directing the orchestra and making corrections as they rehearse.
