I have rented from tallard the last two years and they really go above and beyond any landlord I have had previously. They go out of their way to help tenants and make sure they have a comfortable place to live. Also, everyone that works for tallard apartments is a pleasure to work with from maintenance to those that work the office!
Tallard Apartments is so accommodating and reliable they respond to maintenance requests in no time at all, and make sure you're content. They are great about sending out important email reminders so we are always in the loop and that there are no surprises, and the people who work in the office are so sweet and welcoming!
Living at Tallard Apartments has been amazing. This is my second year living at one of their properties and I have been more than satisfied with the quality of their apartments as well as the quality of their service. The property I am currently living in was recently renovated and they completed the renovations in time for move in while doing great work with artful attention to detail (think ghost wood accents, electric fireplaces, and bamboo breakfast bars). The people that work there are very responsive and understanding and I have had no complaints to date. Thank you Tallard!
Super helpful and nice, willing to work with you on anything. Andrea was especially helpful, and the apartments are really nice.
We asked them to repaint our balcony, and came home to find that they had repainted the living room and bedrooms. And spilled paint on our furniture.
Also had squirrels living in the walls, which were eventually replaced by raccoons (two of them). Took Tallard over a week to get anyone out to set up a trap, and after catching one, their solution was "here's a BB gun, use it on the other one if it comes back." I'm dead serious.
Never again.
Since moving in my roommates and I have had muliple maintenance requests, but all have been met and fixed by our maintenance man Doug in a timely fashion. Doug is extremely easy to work with and get into contact with. He goes over and beyond in terms of repairs and his attention to detail. Thanks Doug!
Quick and excellent maintenance service. We had trouble with heating, and the next day the Tallard repair man came an fixed it. While at our house, he also noticed and repaired our refrigerator, dishwasher and front porch light, and gave us tips on home security and water efficiency. Incredibly friendly and professional service!
honestly the best people to rent from. whatever we thought would help to make our house feel like a functioning home for us, they would try their best to budget it in and come and fix that. Their emergency response is pretty quick and they never fail to tell us when people are coming over to check on something. they're very understanding and pretty flexible about things. as a college student, they were my favorite people I had ever rented from. 5/5 recommended.

Best landlords I've had so far!! Maintenance requests were handled within a day of calling. They redid our kitchen (no charge to us of course) and its totally stunning now!! I would highly recommend signing a lease with these guys.
Imagine this. You call your landlord and ask to get something minor fixed, a leaky faucet, or a squeaky back door. The maintenance guys show up (who are lovely by the way), and the proceed to completely replace the floor in the kitchen, install a new light fixture, repaint the walls, stain the cabinets, clean out the air ducts, replace the toilets, re-caulk the bathroom, install a new ceiling fan, and install new blinds, completely of their own accord.
Tallard is awesome, best land lords I've ever had. The rent is fair, they communicate well, they allow you to live in until the next tenants come so you're not out of a home in between leases, and the houses are very well maintained. I couldn't be happier, I highly recommend looking into their properties if you're a student like I am.
I had the best rental experience with Tallard Apartments. They respond quickly to maintenance requests and Gary, one of the maintenance guys, fixed any other little thing he saw in my apartment that I didn't even request. They are very responsive and accommodating, especially if you are a good tenant! The staff is friendly and personable. If I still lived in downtown Madison, this would be the only landlord I would rent from.
Rented out a LARGE house with these guys. 17 students living in a single house - absolutely crazy scenario, but it worked out quite well. Tallard was good with us about most maintenance issues. The house we got was a complete mess when we originally moved in (broken appliances, busted bedroom doors, flooded basement) thanks to the previous tenant's party the night before moving out. Tallard was quick to respond and had things back to normal within a few days.
Had to replace a shower, an oven and a fridge while we were tenants here - all done in a relative quick fashion. The one downside to renting with them was Matt, he's not management material. Quite rude. The Tallard guys (who actually run the place) and the rest of the maintenance crew were awesome though. Best guys we've rented with while at UW... highly recommended.
Tallard has been so nice to us, and extremely responsive to our requests. Whenever we had ANY maintenance requests, they respond almost immediately, and have the problem fixed in a very timely manner. They have 24-hour emergency maintenance which is great. Gary Tallard (maintenance guy) is extremely friendly, funny, and will solve any problem you have. We are signing with them again next year. Great experience!
They redid our basement, bathroom, and much of our flooring. They truly care about you and listen to your requests. We have been here for two years and have signed for a third. Highly recommend.
Tallard is pretty cool as far as landlords in Madison go. I lived in a Tallard house for 3 years, and they were always pretty quick with service calls and were understanding when it came to other problems. We had six guys in a house near Camp Randall and although they have to put things on the lease (no kegs, etc) to protect themselves legally, they knew what was up (let's be honest, this is Madison). Tallard is not out to manipulate some 20 year old college kids out of getting their damage deposits back, like some of the other property managements in Madison. They treated us tenants with respect, so in turn we treated the house with respect (as much as we could, while hosting the occasional rager). They even added in some upgrades to the kitchen and bathrooms while we lived there.
At first I had only known Tallard by reputation. I had heard they were not all that helpful or responsive to their tenants. But now that I have lived in a Tallard house for almost a year, that simply is not true! They are prompt with their maintenance requests, very polite in their correspondence, and, because we asked, they have done significant improvements around the house we rent. They installed a new backsplash and countertop, new shelves and cabinets, and a new finished side of the basement. I live at 15 S Charter St - see some of the photos for yourself!
So many of the landlords in Madison take advantage of college students. Tallard does the opposite. They actually care about their residents, respond almost immediately to maintenance requests and go above and beyond for them. When I first moved into my house two years ago on Lathrop, we asked for a dishwasher because our floor didn't have one. Not only did they install a dishwasher for no extra cost, they added new counters, giving us more counter space, and new cabinets. Tallard is the best!
Tallard was wonderful. I lived in the same apartment for 2 years through them. Any time we had a maintenance issue, they were prompt and repaired it. They kept us up to date with events that might concern us (i.e. maintenance, neighborhood break-ins, etc.) and were always friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend renting through them if you can.
So I've never written a Google review before, but after renting from Tallard exclusively based on their great reviews I figured I'd pay it forward to the next guy. Tallard genuinely does an amazing job, their properties are all fantastic and they are priced very competitively. Their maintenance staff is incredible (shout out to Gary and Steve) and will do just about anything to make your rental feel like home. New floors, new ceiling fans, new blinds, you ask it and they will likely do something to accommodate you. Their staff is incredibly responsive from the second we started looking for a rental (Ed Tallard texted us minutes after we put in a request), and we were touring houses in no time.
TL;DR.... rent from Tallard. I've heard horror stories from just about every other rental agency in Madison, but I was blown away by Tallard's above and beyond service.

If I could give these guys 10 stars I would. Hands down the best landlord on campus at the UW. I lived in two of their properties (Frances St. and Bowen act.) during my time at UW and both were pleasant experiences. I also lived with JSM Properties and at the Embassy high rise and in hindsight I regret not living in Tallard properties my entire time there.
You can pay double the price for a third of the space at the fancy high rises and get gouged on your security deposit or you can sign with Tallard and be treated like a human being. Pay your rent on time and be respectful and the favor will be returned.

I've lived at a Tallard house my sophomore year, and have signed on for my junior year. They usually respond to maintenance request in 24 hours, and have yet to have a bad experience. I would recommend Tallard if you're looking to rent in a bigger group.
Tallard is a great rental landlord, especially compared to MPM (whom I'm convinced was put on this Earth to make us miserable). All of their properties are well maintained and reasonably priced. Additionally, they're very quick on maintenance. They understand that they rent to almost exclusively college kids, so your security deposit will be safe so long as you make an honest effort to clean when you move out. Best thing about them is the August 15th simultaneous move in/out. Kept me from living another night in the back of my moving van.

Tallard is by far the best management company on campus. The manager, Matt, is wonderful. He always got back to us, handled maintenance requests quickly and was always very accommodating. I have nothing but nice things to say about this management company. They have a great location on campus and take really good care of their residents. We liked them so much that we resigned. I wouldn't go with another management company in Madison, they're awesome.
Tallard is the best to work with when finding housing in the Madison area for college students. I have never experienced a quicker response to maintenance requests and such friendly customer service. When we came into the office to sign our lease last fall, we were given pizzas and hot dogs and nothing but positive attitudes and smiles. We were new at renting a house as opposed to an apartment so you guys made the transition so easy and were more than willing to answer any questions we had!
I recommend to my friends who are looking for housing to go through Tallard for these reasons!

As a UW-Madison student, I have experienced a variety of landlords in the regent street area. This being said, I have to say that Tallard was on a different level as far as customer satisfaction goes. Their response to maintenance requests was very timely, and the workers were always friendly and willing to go above and beyond. I was always able to talk to upper management during the week, and was treated like a person not a number.
