Wow what a place. Beautiful and huge. Went for high tea and took a guided tour to the palace. It was exotic. High tea menu was awesome. Must visit this place if you go to Hyderabad.
Awesome ambience.its all worth to go there and feel the royalness..loved it .
If you want to look back at Nizam's lifestyle, you should visit here. A bit expensive, but worth visiting
Best place for stay in palace of nizams speciality of 100 people dining tables
This is palace build in Nizam time and just few years leased to Taj group by Muqaffam jah, but This is only for high class society not for middle class people
This place is more than just food and drinks. The palace showcases the luxurious life which the Nizam lived. There was a palace tour for 30min and i have no words to describe the palace.
The Taj Group took this palace on lease in 1995 and they took 10 years to restore the lost glory. I will say it is beautifully maintained. Coming to the lunch/dinner part you are allowed inside the gate only if you have a reservation. Myself and my wifey were here to celebrate my birthday. Thanks to Aparazzi for following up with the Reservations Team from last 1 month to book the table. She had few hiccups booking the table but the experience at the palace was just WOW!
We had a reservation at the Gol Bungalow and we opted for Indian Food. In this place they have a 5 course set menu. You will have a superb view of the city while you enjoy your dinner with your loved one. You are treated like a king. The most lavish dinner i have ever had till date.
They served the Tomato Dhaniya shorba to start off the dinner. The quantity was less I thought but realised later that the size of the portion was just right. Followed by few starters -
1. They served us Zimikand shikampuri kabab which was just yum. Very unique. This is the first time i was tasting this and i was blown away by the taste.
2. Bharwan Paneer Tikka - The softest paneer i have ever had. It was cooked to perfection.
3. Aloo kairi ki tikki - After having the other 2 starters i felt this was a let down. It lacked flavour. It was bland i felt.
4. Malai Phool - The brocolli was marinated with cheese and cooked to perfection. It was cheeselicious.
This was followed by wild berry sorbet. The texture of the sorbet was smooth and the sweetness was just perfect.
For the main course we were served Assorted breads accompanied with 3 gravies and Dal Makhani.
The gravies served were -
1. Nizami Handi, a creamy gravy made of some seasonal veggies and yoghurt. Personally Liked the taste and flavour.
2. Paneer and spring onion gravy was tangy and very tasty and paneer was so soft that it just melted in the mouth.
3. Dakhni saag was very very creamy and tasty.
4. The dal makhani was very rich and creamy and delicious. The best Dal makhani i have ever had till date. This is their USP dish and a must have.
We were served Veg Biryani with mirch ka salan and raita. Biryani was overloaded with elaichi and all that we could taste was elaichi. This was a let down dish.
For the desserts we had requested for Italian desserts as we don't like much of Indian sweets and they obliged for the same.
We were served chocolate parfait which was rich and delicious. The sweetness, bitterness of the chocolate was just perfect.
The home made rose petal icecream was served which was good. The texture of the Icecream was smooth and shiny.
They also served Opera which was very very delicious.
They give us cold napkins instead of finger bowl.
Overall a very royal experience. Heavy on pocket but an experience not to be missed.
Ambience : 5/5
Service : 5/5
Taste : 4/5
Very nice place but extremely expensive. Higher money for the value we get
Happens to be very close to Charminar but the vibe is strange. It's kind of deserted and dark. You would reconsider your options if you don't have a cab while traveling by yourself. Also, the palace requires prebooking without which you won't be allowed to enter. All in all, one needs proper planning to be able to go and enjoy there. Mainly suitable for dinner.
Truly amazing.....Excellent food , Excellent atmosphere, superb location overlooking Hyderabad city.
The live qaalwal was the cherry on the top.
Set in a restored 19th-century palace overlooking the city, this luxe hotel is 2 km from Falaknuma train station and 4 km from the landmark 16th-century Charminar mosque. The elegant rooms feature Colonial-style furniture and marble floors, plus flat-screens, DVD players and limited free Wi-Fi. Upgraded rooms have canopied beds; stately suites add separate seating and/or dining areas. Room service is offered 24/7.
Loved the atmosphere and food, just a little inaccessible/long drive through traffic. Price is obviously expensive but worth it for once in a while outings
One day i live like a king .... It was a lifetime memorable experience
Oldest hotel by taj group good hospitality. Well maintained.
It's a good place to visit nd enjoy the food. But make sure u keep ample of time for ur visit nd also preferably day light is better rather than night.
The best part is the breif guided walk through the palace while staff narrates mesmerising tales from the time of Nizams.
Bit rude staff but amazing property and excellent Location
It's a beautiful place with a lots of room nd it's awesome
Marvelous. Personified dining place. Good food and superb ambience.
Let me be specific that this review is for the sales dept only.
One of worst sales department..nobody is ever there to take a call.
The restraunt and the palace is amazing.
Amazing Hotel for celebration of celebrities. Loved it
Went to Ada for dinner, amazing food. Palace tour was great, nice to learn more about Nizams.
Beautiful Palace! Interior is awesome (Photography is Not allowed so couldn't capture that) its a treat to watch it from inside. Amazing architecture.
Such a luxurious and aesthetically beautiful place. The music when we were there (Sufi singers) were also really good. The food was good and the horse carriage that takes you to the place makes you feel like a king.
Great place. Was one of the best places I visited in Hyderabad
It is a beautifully restored property by Taj. Do not miss the palace tour. We had lunch, high tea and dinner there. The pan sandwich, gulkand jamun, gulab ice cream, paan ice cream were pretty unique. It is expensive but worth it for special occasions.
Luxurious hotel, what else can I say, they won't even let you in
Serene, beautiful and peaceful palace. Multiple photo opportunities... excellent guided tour
What to say........no words can describe the grandeur of this heritage property......royalty at its best
Love it. Best experience ever. We were taken in horse carriage showered with rose petals ans treated like Princess. Great day. Try to go at time u can see sunset from there
Historic place, coupled with good hospitality and very well educated employees gave a very good experience
Fine Place, but too far from the city and too costly for their offerings
Really an amazing Palace on hill top and well maintained by Taj Group of Hotels
Had a fab experience on our anniversary.Fine dine taken to a whole new level.Loved the tour of the palace.Dont expect typical hyd taste although some of the dishes are the same..its very mild in terms of spice and flavour..guess that what the nawabs liked..
What a palace! And what a story. Great food and don't miss the tour.
In India top 9th place this hotel .
Mostly come they celebrates .
The property is full of history. The exterior looks a bit run down. The high tea was fantastic. The food and variety was endless
It's a royal palace converted in to a hotel.
The palace is very beautiful and any who would like live royal life can stay here.
FabuLous historical property, well maintained by Taj...
Amazing food and nice well furnished room with 5 star service
