Kangaroo tartar a little lack luster...ramen ok. Going to try TAG...
I am giving it one star because the food was decent, but the service was horrendous. The server was not attentive at all. We had to get our own menu from another table and took forever to put in our order. Then my ramen entree came first and my starter came in the middle of it. My wife's food came when I had finished all my food. So I had to sit there watch her eat. Of course her starter came after her entree as well. We were seating at the bar so we saw which food was being prepared and not being picked up. Also, we had to listen to the chefs lamenting about how much they didn't want to be there that night. We actually saw a couple leave because they were never attended to. This place is in complete disarray. Don't have a restaurant if you don't know how to run one.
This place was great! One of the chefs was nice enough to take the time to give us sushi making tips along with answering any questions we had about their food. The waitress and bartender were extremely friendly. Onto the food which was also great and reasonably priced. Overall great place, my girlfriend and I plan on going back.
Went here after reading some pretty good reviews and have been to many raw bars and sushi places. I was curious to try the Omakase rather than order off the menu (mistake). Since it wasn't that busy on a Saturday night (hint) figured they may accomodate us, which they did. We opted for the 7 course omakase priced at 70$ per person. Rather than go into all the details, it was far to be desired and certainly no flair or imagination from the kitchen either. Seems the chef didn't quite know what to serve. We were served Kampachi 2x (over rice and sashimi) and Salmon 2x (flash seared and sashimi), really guys.... The flavors left much to be desired. The kicker, our waitress comes back to us after the 6th course and says you've gotten all 7 courses right??? Should have said yes and spared ourselves another repeat. Then she charges us 80$/per person and we called her on it and she tries to blame the POS.
Maybe the menu items are better....too bad you wont ever get my business again.
Spare yourselves folks, much better places in denver ie. sasa and the den
This was our first time there, and as most people do, we went to TAG and were escorted to the correct location. It's in a cool, downstairs location with great decor and design. We were quickly greeted and seated. Audrey was very prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable of the menu. She made great recommendations and was accommodating. The food was fresh and the presentation was great. The drinks were delicious as well. The portions aren't the largest, but with all the other great things about TAG Raw Bar, they make up for that.
Delicious sushi and Kangaroo tartare! A must try if you are visiting Denver. Free poppycock (popcorn) when I visited.
Their lunch menu was a little disappointing in terms of choices.
Went in for industry night. Our server, Darcy, informed us about the specials and in doing so she mentioned a drink called love potion. After she mentioned that drink to us she retracted, saying that it was not actually on industry night but then she changed her mind again and said she would be able to do it because of her mistake. Two of us ordered these drinks, which were actually good, and when the check came we find out they are $10 each when the industry night drink we were planning on drinking was only $5. I addressed the issue to Darcy and she was very insincere when saying that we were the ones that misunderstood her and that she only said she could make them for us (We had never even heard of the drink and would not have ordered it has she not recommended it). Regardless to say, she did nothing to remedy the situation. Other than Darcy's service, the food and drinks were good.
