Very nice Spanish food, paellas and jamon serrano are delicious. A little bit expensive
Exquisite food and service, the best of fine Spanish cuisine in DC!
Excellent service and superb food - very authentic.
Best Spanish restaurant ever! Delicious food, romantic decor and outstanding service.
Really classy ambiance indoor and outdoor seating. Wonderful selection of authentic Spanish wines, beverages and food. Their staff is also very tentative and hospital. I will definitely return here another time.
Excellent and professional service. The food is outstanding.
The food was amazing. Saturdays is all you can eat Paella day.
Real Spanish food, we have a great diner. The service was outstanding.
Love this restaurant! Great food and service! We always visit when we are in DC.
This is Spain in DC! Great service, wine, and food/tapas/pinchos
Had early dinner with my wife, the restaurant was not busy at all. We ordered two tapas and a Paella de
Mariscos. The tapas were good but the paella was a sad pile of rice with not much substance in it, I had big expectations for this restaurant but it was such a dissapointing experience.
A $72 Paella de Mariscos with 4 steamed langostinos, a few mussels and clams on a bed of salty arborio rice it is not worth the money. My take is that this restaurant had much better Paella days
I have had wonderful meals here in the past, my recent lunch was lackluster. Octopus which was supposed to be grilled tasted boiled and was smothered with paprika. It was tasteless. The service was excellent.
Good service and nice place but the food is not good.
Good food good customer service but they need to do background music for such a big restaurant like that
First went here back in 2000 and then again recently with my wife. It was just as I remembered. Great tapas, amazing wine selection and unforgettable service.
Always professional, courteous, and scrumptious! Great wine list, service and authentic Spanish cuisine
I love spanish food especially on the elegant side. This restaurant though it was lunch time and during the pandemic when all restaurants are hurting, they really delivered on the quality of the dishes and the service.
Great food and amazing service. Victor and Hugo were very nice and attentive. I will definitely be back!
Well, look, an exiled Spaniard thinks this place is great to eat some real, good quality Spanish food. Very good treatment and very good service.
Used to be 10 stars if I could give it. Service and quality has dropped.
spectacular!!!! Alejandro attended us, the service was great. If you accompany the dinner with the flamenco show they give, it's perfect. the taste of Spain, it feels close! but if you only go for the food ... it's a bit expensive. (that's why I do not put 5 stars) thanks
I couldn t get any picture because we wolfed the food down too fast. It was great. The hongos y huevo we re delicious and the bread pudding was very special.
Attractive but not impressed with the thin, overcooked steak or side dishes.
Very posh and with great service. Loved everything about our dinner
Great food and great service. Camila the hostess was so courteous!
Had a great time at the Google Places event here! The sangria is awesome and the tapas have convinced me to return soon! Delectable bites, from crostini to pint-sized desserts, they put their best on display!
Fancy and pricey place for fine food, and special occasions. Dishes are done well. Sommelier is on hand. Very nice presentations. I had the boneless short rib in a wonderful sauce. My wife had the whole branzino baked in salt, and deboned by the server. My son and daughter-in-law had the seafood paella. Everything was very good. Service is very good.
Great place for Paella. Loved the charcuterie and cheese selection
Price is high and portions are small. It deserves a 5 because Food was excellent, service was outstanding.
Fabulous upscale authentic Spanish restaurant close to the World Health Organization offices. Excellent service, beautiful decor and wonderful food completes the experience.
A guarantee. A place immune to fashion. A place where you know you are going and they will treat you very well and eat very well. A unique place in all of Washington. A piece of authentic Spain with style, habits and know-how. Chapeau.
very good food that occasionally disappoints. very international crowd, jackets required, regulars are treated better than first time guests.
If you want traditional Spanish food that is always reliable. This is the place to go in DC! Excellent!
Excellent restaurant in DC to taste Spanish Cuisine, great service and cosy atmosphere.
Lived the scallops and purcheta. The Brussels sprouts and spinach w Spanish ham also lovely. Great service.
Taberna continues to be a treat, and one of the best Spanish restaurants in the area. At a private dinner Tuesday night in one of the best private rooms in the city the service was attentive and sensitive to our need to do some business. The cerdo dish was beautiful to behold and it was a treat to have such high quality ham. The bronzino and paella dishes looked inviting and those who had them were pleased. The decor could use some freshening, though I took this as a reminder of how long this place has been in operation and successful. Recommended.
Outstanding . It never fails in food quality and excellent service
I would give zero stars to this place if I could. The last time I took my friends there to watch the flamenco show with some friends they treated us extremely bad. They made us change tables in an extremely rude and condescending manner just because we were not planning to order as much food as wanted us to order. THIS HAD NEVER HAPPENED TO ME AT ANY RESTAURANT I HAD EVER VISITED!!!! It completely ruined the positive perception that I previously had for the restaurant and it certainly made me and all of my friends never want to come back. The high prices they have for the terrible costumer service they offer doesn t make it worth it for me. There are many other Spanish restaurants in the DC area that are better than this one! Bodega in Georgetown or Jaleo in downtown DC are way better options (they also offer flamenco shows).
Wonderful! Great good, lovely ambiance and fantastic service. I certainly plan to return again.
Beautiful place, excellent food, attentive service, but had a leisurely dinner. The place to go for a special occasion.
Love the food, loved the people. Be ready to spend some money.
We just have lunch and it was amazing. Perfect food. Very gentle service and they got all necessary convid 19 measures for this phase opening. Have dinner or lunch there you will have the experience you deserve after being at home cooking for the last three months
The food was crazy delicious! I thought the tapas was good, the the paella came around and I was in heaven. Super expensive, worth it, but I was happy not to be paying.
Really liked the paella and all apetizers. The quality of food is superb. The price is reasonable if you skip the wine! The atmosphere is old fashioned, but the experience is very good in general.
Good seafood in an ambience. Service e a bit slow though for no rush occasions
Dropped into Alabardero last November, straight off a plane with my family and ready for some classy tapas. I never got as far as tasting the food though, as we left after having been met by the most snooty and rude waiter I have seen employed in an establishment like this.
Any resemblance to "elegant" Madrid restaurants is insulting. I would not feed a stray dog in there.
Tapas are all good, in special the croquetas de jamon, pulpo a la gallega and the pork al whisky. It is true Spanish flavor!
Love the tapas, particularly the ones that involve chorizo!
Great Spanish food! Excellent service. I went to celebrate my birthday and they made it very special! They gave us a good window table, a nice birthday card and a toast of champagne! Felt really special.
The service is good but the paella's weren't that great for the price...
Nice interior, but there are definitely better Spanish places than this one. Too much ice in sangria.
Immeasurable dishes, fine attention, and above all makes you feel that you were at home, magnificent!
Perfect for a dinner or lunch in a group with Spanish flavor.
Surely the best Spanish restaurant, of authentic Spanish food, of the United States of America.
Best Spanish food in town. Traditional and elegant. Sensational food, excellent wine selection and great service.
When you step into the sumptuous surroundings of Alabardero, you feel like you are stepping backwards in time. DC falls far behind you as old world Spain welcomes you with warm, open arms. The restaurant feels like a home with different sized rooms offering diners and groups privacy for their tasty tapas experience.
Their wine cellar boasts over 300 Spanish wines, best tasted at special dinners where the winemakers come in from Spain to pour you a glass. For lunchtime fun or happy hour, sangria on the patio is a must in the summer.
Mediocre and expensive. I do not recommend it. I was there for dinner.
Food was ok, nothing out of the ordinary except service was really good.
Great place. Good food, love Flamenco Show. A bit pricey.
Horrible.
I got free pass for Tapas and sangria on one event and decide to see place. I made mistake by showing them pass at the front. My ham tappas was obviously smaller than on the table next to mine. They charged me $11 for difference in price between sangria and red house wine even though price in menu was 50 cents difference. I told them that i am first time there and that bill is not correct and manager of the restaurant with tick Spanish accent came to me and had nerve to say that, everything is fine with bill and i probably made mistake by coming to this restaurant. I can not believe how he still has his job there.
The servise is beyond excellent! So attentive
The food is amazing and it is a friendly atmosphere.
Best Paella in DC, tapas, beautiful decor and superb service
The food is always wonderful and the service is excellent. Even in the middle of restaurant week and a full restaurant, we had excellent personal service.
The place is exquisite. Decor great and staff pleasant. The variety of tapas is awesome. I always enjoy being there either for lunch, happy hour or dinner.
A. world class Spsniah restaurant. The Margaritas and food are top 1%!
