Very very slow . But I suggest you drivers start getting on your companies to start hitting the brokers HARD on Detention pay.
I come here monthly and sleep all day while they take thier time , then I bang the broker for $300-$400 Detention. I'm an owner op and I don't take ANY load that doesn't have $100 hr after the first 2 hrs in my rate agreement. In 8 yrs, never had anyone not pay it. If they want their bols faxed, I get MY comcheck first. Why let lumpers make all the money.
And if sysco ever tries to make u pay the "late fee"... remember , you have elog tracking with date and time and gps tracking proving u were thier on time. Pay the fee and send the customer or shipper proof u were there and let THEM strong arm sysco for thier money back.
I hit Tyson for a few thousand bucks every year just in detention fees. Play the game as good as they do brothers

You have to charge a premium whenever you see Sysco, Walnut CA. For the following reasons: 1) most deliveries are at 7 am but you can expect an average of 5 to 7 hours to off load. Worse case you ll be exiting around 2 pm which means you probably can t do another load. If you add the 5 to 7 hours to offload + the time to load 2 hours and the time in between those appointments ( transit) your easily looking at a load that took more than 12 hours to complete if you operate locally. Even if you re OTR the opportunity cost by this load taking so long to complete is taxing.

Reason 2) The high Lumper fees, if your broker has you pay out of pocket and then get reimbursed after settlement; well, that can take a week. A dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow.

Reason 3) Sysco is notorious for refusing cases. For some reasons there s always damage here. So think about having to file a damage or refusal report and then having to wait to find out where to take it- be it a food bank or back to the shipper. All and all , that s more time wasted in having to deal with a load that has already taken a long time to compete.

Things to consider. Opportunity Cost and rate of diminishing returns. Make sure your broker pays detention.

As carriers we can t take on the cost of these inefficiencies by Sysco that have been long lingering

Arrived on time at 6am. The line was out their driveway and down the street. 13:00, in a door, lumper paid...still waiting to be unloaded. I have 2 more drops after this that will need to be rescheduled.Too many early drivers, though I don't blame them. There is no reason for two hours worth of drivers to be in front of you when you have an appointment. Don't just say you'll do better, Sysco...DO better. Drivers are forced to come too early adding to the problem people are nice though

One hell of a line get up in the guard shack took a while so plan ahead then the guards were nice the lumpers were nice but why I got three stars they only received 36 cases and it took them over 2 hours to do it I should have been in and out and probably 45 minutes or less so yeah but otherwise docs are nice to get into not too much of a hassle and do they do have a catering truck that is parked out there so you can at least get something to eat decent food
