Hector W Padilla Review of Sysco los angeles

You have to charge a premium whenever you see Sysco, Walnut CA. For the following reasons: 1) most deliveries are at 7 am but you can expect an average of 5 to 7 hours to off load. Worse case you ll be exiting around 2 pm which means you probably can t do another load. If you add the 5 to 7 hours to offload + the time to load 2 hours and the time in between those appointments ( transit) your easily looking at a load that took more than 12 hours to complete if you operate locally. Even if you re OTR the opportunity cost by this load taking so long to complete is taxing.
Reason 2) The high Lumper fees, if your broker has you pay out of pocket and then get reimbursed after settlement; well, that can take a week. A dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow.
Reason 3) Sysco is notorious for refusing cases. For some reasons there s always damage here. So think about having to file a damage or refusal report and then having to wait to find out where to take it- be it a food bank or back to the shipper. All and all , that s more time wasted in having to deal with a load that has already taken a long time to compete.
Things to consider. Opportunity Cost and rate of diminishing returns. Make sure your broker pays detention.
As carriers we can t take on the cost of these inefficiencies by Sysco that have been long lingering
