Worst pricing I have ever seen and they are supposed to be for industry purchases.I remember getting a bag of spinach in season and my rep charged me 45$ for it while a bag of the same size at costco was 13$. They price higher than grocery stores located in DT even when purchasing in bulk.

I had two reps throughout my experience and both were sub par at best, I had to constantly tell them that if they see a peoduct I want that is ridiculously overpriced when I am ordering something to let me know. They never did that then charged me 150$ for some packs of spices in bottles when i asked for a large container of it clearly. They make commission on sales so all they trying to do is make a buck off you. Go with the other suppliers when I started running my second kitchen I dropped all aspects of Sysco because they are uneeded.

For many years, this company has run giant 18 wheelers through tiny downtown Toronto neighbourhoods, and their drivers have run over my landscaping as they try to negotiate tiny Victorian streets and laneways. I've called and requested Sysco's management to send smaller trucks, more appropriate to 1800's streets and laneways in the city core, and I'm most curious how they'll respond. Sysco's 40 foot trucks are easily the largest, by a wide margin, vehicles we ever see in Beaconsfield, and the seniors' home that the truck services is for less than 100 residents...even schools with many hundreds of kids don't have trucks like these servicing them...it's unsafe!

Sysco is definitely a very expensive option for a restaurant or any food service business. There are providers out there who offer a more competitively priced service. Years ago when petrol was expensive Sysco was the first to introduce fuel surcharge but when Diesel came down in price to below $0,90 cent (at the gas station I am sure Sysco buys even cheaper !) they still had the guts to charge a fuel sure charge. I believe they are charging $14 to-date (not sure since I changed suppliers after 8 years and went to a more reasonable option) while diesel is still comparably cheap ! Had enough of their constant over charging and short ordering, changing product without notice, sending substitutes without notice and excuses after excuses. My advise: shop around, compare and make up your own mind.

Unprofessional and borderline scammers. They promise delivery to your business and then when you order, everything is special order and takes several weeks. The they overcharge you for half the items on your invoice, and substitute however they see fit for items that are 4-5 times the price.

Added to which the sales reps are unprofessional and incompetent.

A real disgrace, avoid at all costs. BUYER BEWARE.
