I really love their lemon raspberry cupcake here, not too sweet, not too sour and the icing is not thick. And Cassidy was very helpful with the loyalty program, just tell her the phone number. Every $40 you ll get a free cupcake! I d definitely go back there.

We have passed by this place for about a year, looking at the sign outside saying they won cupcake wars, we finally decided to go in and treat ourselves to some delicious cupcakes. Too bad they weren't delicious, if they had cooked these cupcakes like this on the program they would never had won. They were very dense, heavy, and dry. The icing was not sweet enough, like they forgot sugar or they made it with lard and not butter. My husband got a Boston cream, the cream tasted horrible inside, not sweet not tasty, but medicinal. The marshmallow one was wet on the bottom and the marshmallow was not marshmallow. I will never ever go there again. Wasted $22.00.

The greatest cupcakes ever, seriously, so fresh and not too sweet! The customer service is excellent, too. Everyone is always super friendly and helpful!

We ordered a custom birthday cake for our little boy's first birthday. Julia was so helpful and communicative, sending pics and checking everything was as we wanted it so she could make the cake as we wanted. She had a little fondant bear made on top which was so cute, and the cake looked just like the pictures I had been sending her! She even delivered the cake on the day personally! The cake and the cupcakes we ordered to go with it were delicious and I would definitely recommend using her for any cake order! Great experience and great cake!

Stopped by one day when I was in the area. Had heard about them from Cupcake Wars and other ads. Not one customer in there (not a good sign). Was a little confused about what was in the case. The two girls behind the counter explained about the bread pudding. One offered me a sample of a cupcake. There was not one thing I liked about that cupcake. Taste, texture, feel....nothing. Extremely unimpressed and disappointed. The only way I could have only been more disappointed was if I had spent money on it. Sorry.....

The cake is okay but not sure much better than grocery store cake. But the frosting has no flavor and is oily.

It is an objective fact that these cupcakes are good. Anyone who says that these cupcakes are bad and not sweet enough is probably used to regularly consuming garbage. It's true the frosting isn't as sweet as a typical cupcake but it tastes so good! The frosting is light so it doesn't overpower the cupcake at all. I only buy the gluten free cupcakes so it's possible that they are different from the regular but I doubt it.

I live in Westlake Village and have been a loyal and devoted customer since the day Sweet Arlene's first opened, before "Cupcake Wars" and fame happened, and I have ordered dozens and dozens (close to the thousands!) of these cupcakes and they are usually very good. However, this past week was a disaster.

I called On Friday to place an order for 15 cupcakes for my son's 16th birthday dinner. I paid $70.00 and asked that they all be covered in sprinkles, and that a candle was added to my son's cupcake. I collected the cupcakes the following day at 10:30am for that night's party but when I got home and looked at the cupcakes, they had no sprinkles and there was no candle for my son.

I don't usually eat anything with sugar, including cupcakes, but since it was a special occasion I cut a small piece from two of the cupcakes: one strawberry and one chocolate/chocolate. The chocolate one was fantastic, and of the quality that I have always known and expected from SA, but the strawberry one was completely stale. It was at least four or five days old and was as dry as sawdust. Also, the buttercream frosting had turned rancid and was disgusting (and smelled like vomit). I had not refrigerated the cupcakes.

This was very disappointing, to say the least. As a professionally trained chef myself, I can attest, without any doubt or hesitation , that some of these cupcakes were at least four or five days old, based upon the rancidity and dryness.

I understand that success and fame can go to your head, but at the sake of product quality? It's hard to see quality standards fall to this level, especially when the owner is driving around in a brand new Range Rover. It puts rather a sting into spending that much money on cake.

The bread puddings are amazing! Try the mac & cheese, or the maple bacon!!

Not a bed cupcake however the frosting is very plain and not sweet enough. Sort of like eating shortening

Somewhat disappointed with the hype. Cupcakes were OK but the frosting on all samples were mediocre. Cake part wasn't much better. Almost liked the banana brownie one; the brownie part was good but (a) the banana frosting taste just didn't go with it at all and (b) the frosting itself seemed cheap. There are other places in Ventura county and beyond (Nadia's cakes) which make better cupcakes (at least what I've had). On the other hand, their bread pudding was good, so if I ever went back, I'd probably just stock up on that...

Thank the cheese Gods for this place.Sweet Arleen's Westlake Village, CA now officially has everything I need.They're friendly and make me taste everything which is my favorite kind of place.So happy you're here but I've been constipated since you opened.

So I walk in Sweet Arleen's before heading home to Tustin. Cute Westlake Plaza business location, nice colors, decor and display case. Cupcakes...and what's this, Bread Pudding! AND they won Cupcake Wars, twice!!!! The girls were sweet, not sure if I was talking to Arleen. I guess that would explain it ;). Great cupcakes, and I waited until I got home....3hrs in the car with Sweet Arleen's riding shotgun

Well, I went to sweet Arlene's to get some cup cakes as a thank you for my brother. I went on my lunch break and was pleased by the samples they had and was really excited to try a full size version of the Pumpkin Toffee. I must say I was sad that the sample was better then the cup cake. I will get to that. I ordered a lemon chafon and a salted Carmel and a red velvet and a pumpkin. A set for me and a set for my brother. Well, I had the salted Carmel first. It tasted more like coffee and that cake was so dry and dense, However I had been warned that it was a brownie and was still very disappointed with it. I noticed the sticker on the box that reads eat same day. DO NOT REFRIGERATE. Well, when I got home I had the red Velvet. It was tasteless and dry. The cake had the consistency of Pound cake. I was bummed and thought I would test it out. I put the lemon and pumpkin in the fridge. Ok... Lemon cupcake, average. The lemon chafon cake is more like lemon pound cake. with crappy frosting on it. The only saving grace was the dollop of Lemon curd they put in the middle. But still I was not impressed. Pumpkin cupcake was just the same as the rest. I had asked my brother what he thought and he jokingly called me the crappy cupcake fairy. He said if I am going to give him cup cakes to just make my own next time. Note if the cup cake sticks to the wrapper so much that the wrapper rips you have some serious old cup cakes. It think they could improve by putting some kind of flavored liquor on top to soak in to the cake. It is not what I call a cup cake. Cake should be light and fluffy not dense and heavy.

Sweet Arleen's is no longer sweet. My family and I have been getting cupcakes from Sweet Arleen's since they opened their shop in Westlake Village. For each of our birthdays we would get a large individual cupcake with our family member's name on it and then a container of smaller cupcakes. The customer service has usually been fairly good and the cupcakes are good, but over the past year, the customer service has continued to decline. Today I went in for our customary birthday cupcake as well as the container of smaller cupcakes. It was no problem for the regular size cupcake but when I asked if they had the smaller ones the person behind the counter flat out said "no." I asked what do you mean, you don't sell them anymore and she reiterated, "no we don't have any." I said well, how long would it take you to make some and she said, "we can't our baker goes home at 1:00 p.m." Then she brought the regular size cupcake up to the register and said, so is this it for you?" I said, "apparently so..." The people who are at the front counter should always put the customer first and at least TRY to accommodate their request. I would have been happy if they had taken a container of Halloween cupcakes in the back and made them non-Halloween or made another suggestion of purchasing other cupcakes and splitting them, or "hey have you tried, this flavor, it's the flavor of the month and we'll give you two for one since we don't have what you want in stock." Nothing was offered, there was NO customer service and felt very transactional and not ANYTHING like when they first opened up. I like to support our local shops as much as I can, but customer service will either drive me into a location or out, and in this case, I won't be back. Sweet Arleen's isn't the only cupcake shop in the area anymore. After I left Sweet Arleen's for my last time, I went to the other shop who had exactly what I wanted, was less expensive and had exceptional customer service. I even asked if their baker was still around and they said, "yes, they are typically there until the evening so all our cupcakes are fresh."

Cupcakes were good. Taste was flavorful and presentation was a step above most places. The only negative I have is they seemed under-staffed at the time of my visit. No one answered the phone for curbside pickup and once inside, after a bit of a wait, could see only one very nice but a bit overwhelmed girl working.

I bought a dozen of the minis yesterday at the Port Hueneme food truck night. Since it was pretty warm the frosting was melted all over. I decided to place the whole tray in the fridge so we can enjoy them a bit later. The cake is good but the frosting is bland and not tasty. For some of the cupcakes not sure what flavor it was I m guessing banana the frosting taste like a stick of butter. Overall I would buy again but only the red velvet.

This place absolutely saved me and my daughters wedding. The place I had previously placed a order with bailed on me as well as taking my deposit. Found out the morning I was suppose to pick up order. I called Sweet Arleen's five hours prior to the wedding and in desperate need of seven dozen of cupcakes. The cupcakes are super delicious they have keto, vegan, and Gluten free which I desperately look for and they tasted divine. Bread was moist and soft and tasted like they had been made with a lot of love and care. As a cupcake lover I can say they're bigger than sprinkles and they are so far the best I have tasted in the LA/valley area. The staff are so nice and I loved it. Too bad it's so far away but it was amazing.

Beautiful cake, amazing cupcakes... They helped us provide a covid safe dessert by boxing individual cupcakes for our guests... So glad someone mentioned them to us... Looking forward to birthdays and other celebrations involving their goods... Greatful for the extra work on their end to make it work during these times.

I ve tried a few different cupcakes from here and the red velvet is, in my opinion, hands down the best. I was hesitant coming here because I ve never been the biggest fan of cake in general but my boyfriend said this place was a must and boy was he right! They are very well priced for the size and quality of their cupcakes and I now treat myself to a red velvet cupcake once every week. Love this place and would recommend it to anyone and everyone
