Extremely rude staff. Trash talking patients non stop, dragging feet don't really care if you see them trash talking and mocking your concerns. They should find a new profession because it's totally bs.

The emergency room is not safe and staff don't care. The last time I was there will be the last. I had to wait even though my doctor sent me there due to needing to rule out blood clots which I've had in the past. In the waiting room a drunk woman kept following me and touching me. I complained but I received no help. What happened after I got back was even worse I had to undress in a room with another pt and their family and then I had to go undressed into another waiting room for 45 minutes. When I finally got back they felt I couldn't even go to the bathroom. It was a joke.

The Moms had a fall resulting in both hips fractured. She was admitted and due to her age was brought to the 4th floor 'heart hospital' for monitoring and OT/PT before being transferred to a longer term physical therapy/rehab hospital. This HH is a fairly new wing on the East side of the campus. The layout is set up as a number of 'pods' where each nurses station is at the center or six or so rooms. The architecture makes for a quiet and intimate atmosphere and not just a giant hallway with chaos and noise like many hospitals. Outside of a few exceptions, the nursing staff is professional and knowledgeable. The rooms are quiet and comfortable with large picture windows allowing for a lot of light.
I guess my only complaint would be some of the non-medical staff (mall-cops, etc.) were pretty fat and disgusting looking. I know this is how most americans want to look these days, which is even that much more gross in a hospital setting. UW Health really needs to tighten up the personal standards for their employees. The nursing staff OTOH was great.

One of the absolute worst hospitals I've ever been to. Went in with pains and they said there was nothing wrong, waited a couple days went back, and was treated for a minor uti. The pain was getting excruciating so decided to get a second opinion else where, and ended up being admitted for a sever kidney infection to which i was told would turn septic if not treated immediately. They obviously dont care, or care to listen, when you go there with a problem. Sad to say, rockford has the worst hospitals I've ever been to in my life.

Just had surgery at Swedish American. I cannot say enough about how well the staff has been! I even got a complimentary massage, to help relax, before surgery and it was AWESOME!! All 3 nurses that I had were AMAZING!! Erica in surgicare, Dami in recovery, and then Taylor during the overnight shift. Definitely recommend this place to take care of you!

Bad experience ! I've been here multiple times, and each time they don't seem to get better. First the bed sheets were stained , as In fresh stains but INSISTED that they did clean the sheets and put "new" ones. Asked for a new sheet but was denied. Min after being in the room we had realized that the bed it self had dry blood and other stains ! Meaning they didn't disinfect the bed which they always should after EVERY patient. Sad case

Don't waste your time trying to get a doctor to certify for medical cannabis. Now I have a family member with cancer who can't access natural medicine because of ignorant and misinformed for medical professionals. People will look for QUALITY HEALTHCARE elsewhere and we already have.

Very very great hospital great staff I've just personally had some bad experiences that's why I didn't give a five stars but I think most would say they just serve the five stars that they got but they have to earn that last star with me because of what I went through with the cancer scare and them telling me it wasn't cancer when it really was cancer and not doing a biopsy so because of their negligence I am very sick frightening cancer off! I know the doctor that worked there that did it isn't there anymore but still I prefer a different place when it comes to the cancer! Just happy and thanking God that every day is a little bit better and that that cancer quits growing and gets out of my body so far so good but I wouldn't have to go through all this if they would have caught it then! But don't let my bad experience stop you from going there!

My family has been at some of the most prestigious hospitals in the U.S. and all of them in Rockford. We have received the best care here. By far the best nursing care in the world. This is coming from a fellow nurse.

I've never, but maybe once, have had a bad experience here with the er. Possibly due to the fact I only come in when it's a true emergency with my heart problems. Also during a pregnancy they rolled me up to the pregnancy floor asap. OSF... I'll never go back there again.

This is the worst hospital in the world. Everyone is rude. Sitting in the waiting room with my wife for over 2 hours with chest pains and a gall bladder about to explode and they don't care.

They treated my wife like she was a burden!!!! Unbelievable disrespect from the nurses on floor 10. They would roll their eyes at my wife and huff and puff every other second. Disgusting. There was a few nice nurses don't get me wrong...but the other few were outright RUDE. The doctor was very rude as well, he rushed us with our questions and don't seem to care one bit about explaing anything. Cannot believe they are rated top 100 in America that's a JOKE people.

Let a heavily medicated person walk right out of the ER. Nurse just watched. Unacceptable. She was literally stumbling and walking sideways as she was in the ER waiting area. I know this place can be hectic, but the nurse, or nurses in the ER who observed this and did nothing should never, ever be allowed to work in health care. Astonishingly bad, and ripe for a lawsuit. Good luck

I would give a zero if I could. My son was hurt in an accident several months ago. We came to emergency room at Swedish with a tooth hanging and lacerations that needed stitches on his face. I arrived an hour after my family had gotten to the hospital and I could not find anyone to tell me what was going on. Thankfully they had done scans of his face and chest and we were waiting to hear something back. The nurse stepped in and told us there was no further damage internally and took a picture of his messed up mouth to send to the oral surgeon. He did not clean the blood off his face and neck, do stitches or anything. When the oral surgeon arrived a hour later he was surprised my son needed stitches. They did not tell me he had lacerations he said. The oral surgeon had to open drawers in the room and call out into the hall to get the supplies he needed to sew up my son face and wire his tooth back in. After the doctor left we waited over an hour and my son finally got up pulled off all the wires and left the room still all bloody. I had stepped out of the room several times before and there was no one to be found. Finally after my son, with his shirt nearly torn off and dry blood all over his face, was walking around outside the room someone came in and cleaned the 6 hour old blood off my son and gave us final instructions. I am thankful for the oral surgeon and the room for him to singlehanded repair his son's face and teeth. I will never go to this hospital again. I hope there are other better option in Rockford.

THE NURSE RAISED HER VOICE WITH ME AND TOLD ME TO SHUT UP AND I TOLD HER DONT EVER RAISE HER VOICE WITH ME AGAIN AND SHE THREATENED ME AND CALLED SECURITY. MEANWHILE THE OTHER DRS WERE COMPARING WHICH NURSE HAD A BETTER BUTT AND THEY WERE BENDING OVER FOR THE DRS. AND NURSE SARA SAID SHE WOULD LEAVE HER HUSBAND FOR THE DR IF SHE COULD. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

I've read the other reviews, and have to concur with the majority - Google reviews really needs a zero or negative star option. Upon arriving, I was admitted to a dirty room and put into a bed that was not cleaned. It's pleather - just wipe it down? Oh, they may not have been able, the water wasn't working in my sink. The nurse took a urine sample then left it on the counter for 5 hours until I threw it out. She couldn't find a vein for blood work and an IV, so another nurse came in and dug 5 different times, blowing out 4 veins before finding one. I have welts. The doctor didn't believe what I told him of my symptoms and corrected me; I've had this body for over 4 decades boy, I know when something is wrong. I wouldn't recommend this place to treat a rabid raccoon.

Had total hip replacement on 08/01/2019. The operation went great. Post opp overnight; excellent doctors, excellent nurses, excellent room service staff, and tasty food. My mother stayed in the room with me on a provided cot. The ratings made me nervous at first! But overall nice, comfortable experience.

I have received medical care from Swedes for many years. Family doctor, specialists, surgery, out-patient, in-patient. I've received wonderful care and courtesy everywhere, and my outcomes are really good. Collaboration with the Mayo Clinic has also been smooth.

We brought my 81 yr old father in who has had diarrhea for the past 3 to 4 weeks he was dehydrated so they started IV fluids and ran a few labs after several hours NEVER saw a doctor they released him to go home. I don t live in this area, and he usually goes to Beloit Hospital but lives close to Swedish Hospital through my years of ER visits for myself or my children this was the worst incomplete visit I have ever witnessed.
My father is Black so I am concerned that this played a part in his incomplete treatment.
Would not suggest this hospital and pray we never have to go there again.

Very poor emergency room conditions. Security agent Ken was not wearing a mask, nor the receptionist that checked us in. It was very dirty, and didn't seem to follow social distancing rules. I didn't get the female receptionist name but she was very rude in her demeanor. She waited until my partner was admitted to then tell me I have to get a visitor pass to go back with her. She should have told me the second she checked us in, as she knew I was with her. The security guard was very busy with another patient and took about 10 minutes before he got to me just so he could write my name on a sticker and let me in.

Actually it should be negative 5 stars. My wife was brought here by ambulance, when I got here the "lady" behind the bulletproof glass in the emergency room, buzzed me right in. As family arrived, there were 6 people in the room, we stepped out of the room waiting by the nurses station, while they performed tests on my wife. Some of the family eventually went to the waiting room. My daughter went into the room with my wife. I stepped out into the lobby with the rest of the family, while I
was out there I received a text from my daughter that there was an emergency in my wife's room. I approached the "lady" to let me in and she refused saying that only 3 people were allowed in the room, the door opened & I bolted in being chased by a nurse, threatening to call security. I got to the room where there was only one other person in there. I went out to the waiting room to talk to my son. An overweight security approached us making threats & making up rooms (that we wasn't violating)& my son didn't back down, so "fatty" kicked him out of the hospital & as my son left a police officer followed him out & kicked him off the property.

Have had a family member in CCU and the staff are amazing. Love the large rooms. Care has been exceptional. All the hospital staff have been great from desk to cafe the Critical Care Unit. Lots of public spaces and private meeting spaces to help with extended stay. Appreciate being able to park so close to entrance. Overall as great an experience as I could expect under very difficult circumstances.

I just called today (07/30/2019) to ask them where is the Billing Dept at. The first phone called I was hung up on time 1;24 minutes the 2nd phone called was the same recording no one answer that one either time was 2;45 minutes. If your Hospital is so good then why don't you have any time to answer any of your phone calls. Oh, I forgot the night before is the Main issues not anyone else's issues that counts. You lost my Vote 4 real

I decided to give Swedish emergency department a try since my husband thinks so highly of them but I am so disappointed they do not take pregnant women having stomach pain and back lower pain serious or priority. They rather take people limping that just got there or people that appear to not even have an emergency that go out to smoke go drink coffee go order takeout or fast food and eat while they wait and are spending time on there phones laughing talking showing no signs of distress or real urgent need to be here. Most of these people could probably be encouraged cto go to there many urgent care centers but only it is advisable for pregnant women and children under 3 months to be seen at emergency rooms. They spend multiple times calling out the same name rather than moving in to the next absolutely discussed with how they prioritize urgency and there wait times are ridiculous.
