I called Sunstate yesterday on December 21st and I explained to this poorly conducted establishment how my mom needed a touch up on her brassy hair. They agreed and understood and said to come in when we can.We came into Sunstate the next day on my mom's Birthday on December 22nd. We came in once again, and retold them exactly what we wanted.The front staff made my mom wait 2 hours to get it rebleached.The staff preceded to tell her in the salon chair after they made her wait 2 hours on her birthday; they can't touch her hair. They called the manager in at the time. We were told no cannot touch.Recieptionist had no idea how to schedule any clients either. 4 people left during the wait time, we gave the benefit of the doubt. Poor choice they had terrible customer service and we weren't even apologized to but blamed on. Save your time and money. We won't be back thanks to the sloppy disorganized staff. If taught this way the students will never make a career out of this. I recommend for students to go to a different beauty school that teaches customer service and is organized. Very glad they did not touch her hair since they had no idea what to do anyways and they said they did.

I truly wasn't expecting much here but was long overdue for a cut so tried them out. The students are slower then hairdressers in the field but worth the extra time when you go to pay and find out how very reasonable it is to look good. I really received a great haircut at a fantastic price!

Don't bother to make appointment. Called receptionist yesterday to make appointment for pedicure. Lady on phone fooled me by stating I had an appointment for next day at 12. Came and at front desk I was told THEY DON'T MAKE APPOINTMENTS. They are all students and you are taken care as first come first serve basis unless you have a name.

In my opinion, this was unquestionably the worst experience I've ever had at a massage or spa place, I was honestly shocked at how unfriendly the staff and instructor were.

Please be wary of this school. They tout that they care about students but after going through my program there it seems like all they care about is the bottom line. The teachers there are great and for the most part they care about the students, but a lot of the staff are embarrassingly inefficient and disorganized. They lost tests, test dates changed constantly, and get ready to wait a long while to receive your license because they seem to have a serious kink in communication with the board of health. I just want to warn prospective students to do their research and not fall for the "bigger and better" aspect of this sorry excuse for an academic institution.

I graduate from Sunstate on Monday, & the sunstate crew is a big family! Will always come back & visit, they are all so caring, & motivating! Awesome school!

Horrible experience with natural hair ( African American Hair) I was told that they can do my hair type but when I got there they destroyed my hair. I had to learn the hard way. I will not recommend it for anyone with natural hair. I was crying when I left.

I was gifted a Groupon from a friend. I chose to let it expire as I will NEVER go back here as a result of how I was treated by the front desk. I RARELY complain, it s not worth the treatment you receive. I ve seen her be rude to everyone

Horrible experience... I was there from 12-3:20 For a full set! And they look like a five year old did them. Maranda needs a lot more practice with the actual skills and interacting with customers.

I'm very happy. I was given a haircut yesterday evening that was less than desirable and I'm getting married in a week. I was afraid we weren't going to be able to have pictures taken due to my hair. Please remember this is a school. I tried to remember that and walked away last night. I called this morning and was connected with the director Teresa who is amazing. She fixed my hair in less than fifteen minutes. She's a great stylist and was so wonderful about the entire thing. I will continue to go to the students at sunstate without any worries they have an amazing director that can work wonders! Please don't hesitate to go to sunstate if you're unhappy with you're service they'll fix you up! Great people! Five star!

re: Cancer meds destroyed my hair.

Sunday had Ileana complete a wash/condition/style my hair; which cancer meds had destroyed. Unfortunately, I had cut off most of my damaged hair; along with the relaxer and had been too embarrassed to go to a Salon. Ileana took on the "challenge" of damaged hair; now virgin hair from re-growth of the relaxer, like a champ. After a Chem Shot, blow dry & style; my hair was sensational. I can't explain how it feels, after having my hair destroyed from cancer meds., to see it glowing & looking spectacular. Back to work, I received many compliments on how shiny & great it looked. Kudos Ileana. Will see you again.

Sunstate has the best education a stylist could ask for. Would recommend everyone choosing sunstate for a cosmetology school! Teachers there care and you can tell. The best in my opinion!

I went in after getting a quote on the phone for how much it would be, and settled to do it. I had to get my hair bleached all over, and then dyed on top of it, but I went from like a medium brown to almost an ocean-like blue. Tiffany was absolutely fantastic, and I will be going again. 10/10 do reccomend.

I went to sunstate 6 yrs ago .hands down the best school to go to,I felt that if I had any question I could go to any instructor and get the information that I needed they help me to become a better hairstylist when I graduated from sunstate I had a job lined up I am very passionate about making people feel beautiful thank you sunstate for giving me the tools I need to become successful in the beauty industry. keep producing talented people.

I graduated from SA almost 10 years ago and they continue to blow the competition out of the water. Since graduating I've gone back to visit and the students are always learning the new and upcoming trends in the industry. The staff is nothing but professional and welcoming. You're definitely missing out if you don't at least give it a shot!

Extremely below average instructors with high standards, equipment/Lighting are also below average , students tell me their tuition is 20 Grand and I couldn t believe it.

I graduated from sunstate in 2010, became licensed, and have been working full time as a stylist specializing in color ever since. The team at sunstate made it very easy for me to learn from them and they also helped keep me motivated every step of the way. I would highly recommend attending Sunstate Academy if you're considering a career in the beauty/barbering industry!

I graduated from Sunstate' s cosmetology program a year and a half ago. I now have an amazing career as a hair stylist (financially supporting myself 100%), doing what I enjoy. Enrolling at Sunstate was one of the best decisions that I ever made. The staff is composed of extremely talented, creative, kind and patient individuals who love what they do.
If you are looking for a new do, I encourage you to check out the salon at Sunstate. And if you're looking for a career change, I strongly suggest contacting someone in administration and requesting a tour of the Sunstate facility. It may be one of the best decisions you make too! :)

I had a massage today with Tonya Simpson! She was incredible! The school is so nice and clean and the teachers are amazing!!! I love the attention to detail that was paid during the Massage right down to the hot towels on your feet! If I didn t live in Colorado, I would be a regular client here!! Do yourself a favor and check out Sunstate Academy!!

Several of us came in as a group. We had different services done. When 2 of us finished before the 3rd we were talking to her while she was finishing up. A newer instructor who smelled strongly of wine told the 2 of us that were done had to leave. Ive been here several times before and normally enjoy the experience. I buy services as well as product just as i did today. However, if groups ( ie.. A ladies day) are frowned upon I will surely go someplace else next time. Not happy with our treatment today.
