Lexi & Juan provides EXCELLENT care for my son after his seizure. They were amazingly fast to the scene and provided kind and professional care. So thankful for their commitment to helping others.

I'm so impressed with the emergency service given to my grandma by Angel and Lance. They are so professional and courteous. I'm so glad to know that young people like them can represent your company in such a positive way.

It is impossible to get someone on the phone. They work from 9-12 when you call the recording says they are closed due to staff or training meeting. So even during business hours they still won't take your call. What a joke

Sunstar has twice taken my fragile 94 year old mother (with dementia) from a memory care facility in Largo, FL to a hospital that the family has expressed clearly (and nurses in the memory care facility have made very clear to the ambulance staff when they came to pick her up) they do NOT want her taken to. Nurses have clearly stated, to the rude ambulance staff, that they only want her at a Baycare hospital (there are 4 in the immediate area, and one is only 5 min. farther than the hospital they keep taking her to). Instead, they have taken her to a hospital which does not have her records, it is a teaching hospital, and both times she was there, it has been terrible. Why do the ambulance staff do that, when they are specifically told not to, and when getting her to the hospital is not immediately life-saving? A few days ago she went to hospital due to an infected toe and lethargy. Taking her 5 min. closer was not a medical necessity. Many people say that the hospital they took her to is paying Sunstar or their staff under the table to bring more patients in... I went to Sunstar's website and read some nearly identical experiences other family members have written about. Unfortunately Sunstar seems to be the only emergency medical transport in the area, so are we all just stuck with this terrible company? I would leave a 0 star rating, but looks like that's not possible....

Horrible experience- I was in a car accident and picked up by Sunstar. I complained about numbness in my fingers and pain in my back neck and arm. They assisted me in getting out of the car and onto a gurney without a neck brace. In ambulance I told them I was in terrible pain. They only gave me a ice pack to hold on my head. When I got to the hospital they told me I had to get off the gurney and sit in a wheelchair bc they needed their gurney back, I couldn t get up without severe pain in my arm and neck and back. Still nothing for my neck support. I was wheeled into a waiting room for 4 hours. I ended up having 2fractured vertebrates and a herniated disc in my neck which required fusion surgery the next day. Poorly trained and obviously do not care at all about patients.

I don t understand why this company continues to bill me for being transported from a stand alone ER to a main hospital when they are contracted with the hospital to do so at no charge to the patient when you are admitted to the hospital. I have tried to resolve this before and just got another bill. Sunstar also did this during a previous hospitalization but had since corrected it. I m certain I m not the one they have done this to. Shame on them as they are being paid by the hospital for this service. Double dip much?!?

Just appalling how bad they are. I spoke with a very nice lady (Misty) at Sunstar who said she would look into my complaint and get back to me.
That never happened and she refused to answer my follow up calls and emails. There needs to be a better choice for emergency care in this county.

They refused to take my 94 yr old mother who was in extreme back and stomach pain to Morton Plant Hospital where all her medical records and history are. They adamantly refused and told me if I wanted her to go to Morton Plant I could put her in my car and take her myself. I called Morton Plant on the way to Largo Med and was told they had not been under "divert" orders in the past 24hrs and there was no reason why she could not have been taken to Morton Plant. This was totally unacceptable. I would like to take away the one star I was required to give to leave this comment, they deserve "0" stars !!! Do yourself a favor and avoid this ambulatory service if at all possible.
