Well behaved children and highly involved staff. Grateful that places like the exist.
Worst company to work for. They hired me as a BHT, BUT I was suppose to be interviewed for a House Manager position. However; I still took the job. I went through the training, after the 2nd day of training, they never had a home for me to go too. I was placed in the office for 2 weeks, until they found placement, working with a little boy. I was completely confused coming in everyday because they will have me running errands for house managers because of their tight schedule, which I found that to be crazy. I was just overall confused and they seemed as if they didn't care, so I decided to leave and I never showed up again. I never got the chance to even work in the homes. I wouldn't even recommend this job to anyone. It all seems good at first, but it's really not. STAY FAR AWAY!!
Worst company to work for. I've never worked in a setting where I would have to look after so many kids and I wasn't comfortable being by myself with them and I talked to people at the office and told them and they didn't care the second day of work they had me working by myself It wasn't safe for myself nor the clients. I didn't know what I was doing there was no guidance. I ended up quitting I only worked 11hours and if would never asked for my money then they would never paid me and when they did they give me my money they gave me straight cash no envelope or check very unprofessional.
Such a Joy to be apart of a Great organization ! Great Management, Great Staff, Beautiful Office! From house to house, we love and respect we do with the children/Teens in care! We come together to give these young folkz the feel of a family while away from their own! we're doing an awesome job. #Sunshine
Owners are wonderful people. They made me feel welcomed and special. They treat the kids amazing and the houses are beautiful. I was disappointed for being terminated and never given a real reason. But i would never hold that against them. Every thing happens for a reason. May Sunshine continue to flourish
I was in a group home owned by this company and it was awful. I ve never forgot about it and I refuse not to say something. For the girls birthdays they would put a birthday cloth on the table and the group home managers would put hats on with party cups out On the table then took a picture with everyone.. right after they folded everything up and put it back in the box!!! The girls didn t even get to use that stuff! It was all for show... thankfully I wasn t there long enough for my birthday to come along. Nothing Is special about this company. When children are living in these homes it s not comfortable it s more like a facility than an home. That s just one example.. the list goes on and on.
It started off like a good place to work for. The houses are beautiful and well kept. Staff and house manager were helpful and good to work with. Clients were great. I really thought I was doing well here; however the company doesn t protect their staff. A new client came in and we developed a good connection. He stated I was like a dad to him. He would always appreciate that I take good care of him. I taught him and 3 other boys how to cook. I engaged with all of the boys in card games and activities. I treated everyone the same way but this boy seemed to be attached to me and it was a rewarding feeling but I always involved others and treated everyone the same. There was a 13 year old who made up a story about me and this new client. I was immediately removed from the home. No explanation was given and they didn t care to hear me out. This at-risk 13 year old child had the power to get a great working staff removed from the home. What a shame. It was heartbreaking for me and some of the clients especially the new one. I have no idea what I could have done better. Protect your staff Sunshine. You lost an amazing BHT who has an excellent compassionate character with the utmost integrity.
Don t pay attention to reviews from disgruntled Employees. I am an Active employee of sunshine for almost 5 year now. I can for one say I love this company and can not name another one better! At least not for me. The house managers and staff care deeply for the kids. Simon and Elizabeth are probably some of the greatest people I know. The employees at sunshine are well paid and paid above the rest! Simon takes care of his employees! We have managers who have been with us for 23 years! Staff don t stay that long if the company isn t great! Also every kid I have ever talked to (I ve been to all 30 homes) loves sunshine. They come with nothing and sunshine provides them with everything they need within the first hour sometimes of intake. Simon personally gives each kid birthday presents and every kid gets a birthday party. Sunshine goes out of their way to make each kid feel special and welcomed. This company is amazing and it s such a shame so many people spread negativity instead of positivity when leaving reviews. No company is perfect just like you yourself is not perfect. But I can say Sunshine is almost perfect. I hope this review helps some people on how they feel about sunshine. Be blessed and love one another
I was thinking about volunteering here but after reading the reviews it's come to my disappointment of how these children might be treated and a system that doesn't help children grow in a secure positive safe up bringing.
I am asking for some suggestions... people please enlighten me
