Love the clients, hate the politics of the business
Sunrise Services cares deeply about the work that we do to allow our clients to live their best life.
Sunrise Services is a great company to work for! We have a client 1st culture and truly care about the people we serve. I also like the positive and collaborative environment.
The powerful and positive, "EveryOne Philosophy" of this organization really reflects a client-first culture. The notion that everyone has a right to lead a fulfilling life, and another chance when it all goes sideways. Sunrise helps so many folks live a better life and it's great to be q part of.

Dear owner/administrator,
Though I appreciate your response after over 2 years has passed since I wrote the letter, it s a little too late considering one of the clients that I worked with for 3 years has since then been hit by a car. Thank you for reminding of the accolades that you have strived to achieve in an effort to better our community. Have a great day and I wish you all the best as well.
2016:
Below is a letter sent to the owner/administrator of Sunrise Services, Inc. on behalf of the parents of the children housed in their children's group home. Please take a moment to become aware of the negligence facing children in supportive care with her company.
Dear Sue,
When I began my employment with Sunrise Services, I mistakenly believed that your heart was still invested in the proper care of the disabled and special needs clients. It was my hope that in three years time something would have been accomplished in providing the children at your group home with proper care. Instead, I painfully watched the care of these 4 children continue to be compromised as 7 program managers came and went with the most competent of them only lasting a couple of month at best. The children's group home of your legacy has been in existence since 2012, yet only began controlled med counts this spring. At the helm remains the most unprofessional leadership that allows her children's program manager the freedom to leave her site often with participants in her care and return smelling like weed and wearing her sunglasses for the rest of the day.
An employees personal choices should never take precedence over the direct 1:1 care required for each child.
In return for my years as a dedicated employee whom engaged the children and develop authentic meaningful relationships, I was told that I would be prevented from assisting in the transition of a child into the adult program simply out of the inconvenience it would create for the program coordinator.
I have honestly lost all respect for a woman whom runs her company on the image of care and compassion and a reality of incompetence. I have no further interest in the condition of your moral compass. Therefore, in conclusion, I simply urge you to reconsider the safety of the children in the care of your program. If you can no longer invest your entire heart in the care of another's child and ensure proper care then you have no business running a group home and conveying that you can to their parents/guardians.
Thank you for opening my eyes to the reality of your company so that I am able to direct my efforts where they will be supported and utilized to my potential.
Do not let your family be taken care of by this agency.. caregiver brought her boyfriend on every shift . Took pics of my brother without us knowing put them on FB .. would not stay off her phone she quit and left my brother alone . Agency did nothing . Still let her work . Unacceptable!!!
Very unprofessional place to work, I called out sick for 2 days, after I was well enough to go back to work, I called and left messages for 3 weeks trying to get scheduled, no none answered and if they did answer I always got transferred to someone who also wasn't available. No one returned my calls or I was lied to and told that "Someone would call me today." Human Resources wasn't any help either as they did and told me the same things as everyone in the main office did. I have a family to take care of and it was no coincidence that no one would answer for me for 3 weeks. Very unorganized and no one followed the proper guidelines when handling some of the clients, and everyone tries to out do one another other than helping each other as a team, to ensure clients get the best service.
I am currently employed by Sunrise Services as the Director of Human Resources. I have found in just my first 30 days that this is a company who truly cares about people. All those I have had the pleasure of working with, truly care about people. Whether those people are clients or employees, the focus of Sunrise Services is people. I have read so many reviews of former staff who have posted negative reviews on various websites. Unfortunately, in the world of business, one size simply does not fit all, and businesses of all shapes and sizes go through growth and change. Businesses must evolve to continue moving forward, just like human beings do. Sometimes that growth and change does not fit a person or a persons desires for their employment and that is okay. Sometimes it is necessary to move on and change your circumstances to fit your own needs. However, that does not mean a company in and of itself is "bad". That means that change is inevitable, and with change comes situations and circumstances that do not fit everyone.
Sunrise Services and the employees that currently work here take a lot of pride in the work that we do, and we are focused on improving the quality of life for individuals within our communities. We are focused on professional, experienced care and are also focused on constant and continuous improvement. How can we do better as an employer? I would like to know the answer to that instead of finding out about it on a website. How can we serve our community better? What improvements can we make to our employee experience that will improve our ability to serve our clients better? We are focused on customer service both internal and external and want to build a partnership with our clients, their families and our employees!
Stop by Human Resources to talk with our Human Resources Team about opportunities to join Sunrise Services. If you are a current employee, reach out to our team and let us know how we can serve you better! If you are a former employee and would like to provide feedback on your experience, please feel free to reach out to me in the Human Resources Office. I would love to hear from you!
