Sunlovers Reef Tour was a blast! The staff is so friendly and Ted was the best! I went on the snorkel adventure with him and it was LEGIT!! The corals are pretty, the fish are colorful and as a company they care about maintaining the Great Barrier Reef. Even the buffet was delicious!
I highly recommend this reef tour!
Fabulous day, all staff were extremely helpful & safety conscious. Would highly recommend this cruise to anyone.

Excellent experience. I took my 10 year old son to snorkel for the first time, likewise it was a first time for me, I overcame my inital fear and had an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend it.
This is a terrible and unfriendly cruise i've ever had! When i tried call to speak to one of their staffs named 'Troy' , he was super arrogant and rude! How can such worst tour company survive! Thanks for ruining my holiday
great trip. Thoroughly recommended. I would go back and do this trip again
We had so much fun!
Thank you sun lover cruise for the experience! Definitely worth remembering!!!!
Staffs are very helpful and always there to answer your questions !
Food is great except yet i feel like its not enough to feed the whole guest! When it was our time to eat for lunch there is nothing left! Lol i guess everybody is hungry after all their water activities!
Life guards are everywhere so you will feel safe to snorkel!
Please help conserve the Great Barrier Reef!
Some corals are dead. I don t know if its because of the guest or what!
Photos are of course very expensive! Huhu
But its worth it!
We checked the weather before booking to ensure we had a good experience, and of course we did! The staff were friendly, The food was nice and the snorkeling was great fun. Reasonable visibility. Plenty of fun things for our toddler to do on the pontoon.
My wife and i did the snorkel tour, She has little experience with snorkeling and was nervous, but found the tour with Ted relaxing, and informative.
It's a long day but we thoroughly enjoyed it.
I would like to congratulate you on your staff but ask why is it necessary for the constant announcements throughout the journey?
There was not a minute's peace during the journey. Most travellers want to enjoy the scenery and not be bombarded with seemingly repetitive announcements.
Please consider less is more.
The guided snorkeling tour with Pablo was fantastic. We learnt a lot more after we came back from the reef. Overall the cruise was very nice with very helpful staff and good underwater observatory and partial submarine tour
Very unpleasant experience in the sea. The rain was big, the wind was big, the waves were big, and the two telephone inquiries before going out to the sea all told that there was no problem to go out to sea normally. There was no warning of safety risks. In the platform and the ship that swayed with the sway, almost the little finger was cracked. The hand was kept unable to move. When waving another hand and calling for help, the staff only took a glance and did not react, and then fortunately broke free. At that time, there was no feeling at all. I thought that the fracture of the bone was not told when there was any first aid or professional medical consultation. However, the staff took the ice bag and registered the accident. The only requirement was to be informed. After this time, what kind of emergency measures they were prepared to take in response to similar incidents, was told that the duty manager would understand the incident, and later found that it was just congestion, and things were gone. On the same day, the company is busy taking pictures and video making publicity. In fact, what I want to say is to improve the quality of service, pay attention to the personal safety of tourists, and upgrade the cabin hardware facilities is what you need most.
My partner and I booked this as a 2-for-1 deal and it was certainly great value. The boat is a large catamaran with lots of seating and tables. We were quite glad that there were only around 50 people on our trip, as I could imagine having 400 would not be very pleasant. There is a marine biologist on-board who talks about the reef which is very helpful. The boat stops at Fitzory Island then continues onto a pontoon at Moore Reef. The ride takes just over 2 hours.
The pontoon was very spacious and had steps down to a roped off area where you can snorkel. The snorkel equipment is provided which is great (snorkel, eye-mask, life-vest, flippers), and a lifeguard is on duty. The water was so clear, you could see hundreds of fish from the pontoon, and as soon as you stepped in the water you were surrounded by coral and fishes.
On the pontoon you can walk downstairs for underwater viewing and there is also a touch tank so you can get up close to starfish and sea cucumbers. There is also a semi-submerged boat tour and glass-bottom boat tour that is included in the price which gives you a whole another perspective of the reef.
A buffet lunch is also provided which includes cold meats, salads, rice, curries, fresh prawns and fruit. It was delicious and I went back for seconds.
Spontaneously, we decided that we would catch the helicopter from the pontoon back to Cairns which was the best decision! Not only did it save us a 2 hour ride home (flight took 25 minutes), we also got a SPECTACULAR view of the reef. I am absolutely thrilled that we got to see the reef that way, and also the helicopter pilot was very informative.
Such a great day and a perfect way to experience part of the Great Barrier Reef. I would recommend going early June as it's only the start of peak season, so the crowds are less and the water is still nice.
By far one of the best cruises i have been on. Everything was so well organized and so many activities to choose from for adults and kids both. Special appreciation for Ted (our snorkel guide) and Mark to go out of their way and accommodate my snorkel and scuba timings so that I can enjoy both. I can t even tell how good i felt and made my day with them more enjoyable. If you are with them, you HAVE TO go for the other activities, they were spectacular. Our guided snorkel was so informative, Ted showed us and talked about different species. My scuba experience was great too (forgot the name of my instructor but i was so scared if my first dive that he never left my hand and still managed to show each and every nook and corner). AND OHMYGOD, the food was so tasty!! They had a variety of food in the buffet (first i thought like other cruises they would have cold cuts and salads but much to my surprise we got hot food and so many choices to choose from! Few other things worth mentioning: good photography, the glass bottom boat, a water slide leading straight into the ocean, cushions for sun bathing. I highly recommend it if you are in Cairns.
Great day out with the family. Our 3 y.o. was so overwhelmed with the fish and swimming at the reef. Plenty to see and do and lunch was better than your average spread. We were lucky that it wasn't overly crowded and weather was perfect. Bit disappointed the touch tank wasn't available but plenty of other things to do from the glass bottom boat to the submerged vessel and our little guy even fed the fish with the team. Great day!
Unfortunately this day out the reef was a real disappointment. The boat was packed (over 100 pple), they took 20 minutes to do the head count and were shouting at us if we dared standing during the head count. I have never seen so many people chundering at once, it was just ridiculous! Four crew members were just running around distributing sick bags and wiping vomit. So after 2 hours of that we got there and we decided to go on the underwater boat, where we saw nothing because the water was too blurry. Snorkling was nice and buffet was good but overall I just found the boat overpacked and the whole experience unpersonal. We felt rushed for everything and no one was really there to help or guide. Their sole aim was to make money. They used the moment when every one was vomitting to advertise the helicopter ride back, how cheeky but also a good indication of what they were all about money. Lockers are $6. There was hardly any communication, staff nice but were there just for security and to wipe vomit.I do not recommend sunlover reef.
When you go out, the boat will be a little dizzy, the service staff on the boat are very good, always take care of the seasick passengers ~ platform rides are OK, I feel that the projects are almost the same ~ snorkeling can see fish and coral, certainly not big Deep in the barrier reef, it is ok to see it in a short time. Remember to eat seasickness medicine 30 minutes before boarding!
Snorkeling is superb. Not a big deal if you don't do skuba unless you want that experience. I was very happy so was other family members. My 10 years old could also did it. Have fun
