Sun City, Sun International. Review

Its ok. So sad the renovation took away a lot of the character of the old casino. It just feels like a normal shopping mall now with with horrible finishes... take it back to what it was.

This place is soo amazing with so much to do and so many options for where to stay.Great place for a vacation

Day visitor... The pool was disgusting, filthy i cant believe they charge such a steep fee and one has to swim in dirty water . Guest have no respect for others smoking happened outside of designated areas and staff do nothibg when it is brought to their attention.

Forever a place to be and lively as always, you gotta be there to experience this...

Best Resort in SA and within proximity to O R Tambo International Airport. You never run out if things to do here. It feels like Vegas all over again and I just love the refurbishment of this place

Sun City - where the sun and fun never stop! The best place to go for fun, leisure, sightseeing, outdoor activities and even business. It has waterslides, casinos, restaurants, a bird sanctuary, state of the art 5 star hotels and so much more. A great place for everyone

As a first timer I found it very exciting and thrilling. All the rides and slides would keep the old hearts beating. Though it was very enjoyable, it is very expensive. Perfect for foreigners and their spending habits but for getting all about the SA citizens.

If you like fake beaches and animal sounds beaming from speakers set in fake rocks, this is the place for you. Bars are expensive. Beautiful golf course. Lots to do.

This was the best resort ever created in South Africa for everyone.

This place is great for you and your family. There are beautiful views of the valley of the waves taking a breath taking monument of fresh air spiralling against your body. There are a variety of different water slides and real life waves along with soothing beach sand. There are as well as a variety of restrooms and restaurants and all kinds of food types. It is also a romantic place to come to if you are alone with your partner...This place is the right place to be!

Peace of mind is guaranteed, but the Monkeys are now getting out of hand. I suggest they must be restricted before people are hurt

Place is very classy.... I don't understand why they have to charge each person at the gate then you pay again inside....

Was great!! Only issue is that we planned and paid ahead but still had to wait with our bus (work team building) at the gate for 20 odd min before we got in!!!

Love the Palace, but it was becoming dated. Hopefully the renovations are spectacular.

Great golf and lots of entertainment. If you don't visit Sun City, you haven't visited South Africa.

The place is great. Lots of fun for younger people. The resort offers lots of different services such as popular restaurants and lots of different activities. I however think that the resort could perform some revamping of certain areas. The welcome centre for example, whilst no one goes inside, that doesn't mean that the sign above the door should be missing half of its contents. However look past such things and the place is superb.

Beautiful place for a getaway, the kids will also love it.

very commercialized. If you are looking for a family oriented experience with lots to do you might like it but for a couple looking for a romantic weekend getaway, rather steer clear.

Went there about 8 years ago, so it was great to return and see they've modernized the place. Family thoroughly loved it there and planning on returning soon.

If you're into crowds then Sun City is for you. Not what it used to be.

First time visit and very impressed with everything. Played golf on both courses - superb. Went on a game drive in Pilanesberg National Park and saw all the big 5 up close and personal. Stayed at the Soho hotel which was excellent in every way especially at breakfast time on the pool deck. Would recommend this resort to anyone. Excellent value for money.

It was a great time to meet with friends and family.

Average. Overpriced for anything you get. Food is below par everywhere. Only one decent restaurant in the whole complex, that being Casa Bella.
Service isn't great either.

Did not like the fact that if you bought food from inside sun city central, i.e. Where the food court is, you cannot take it inside valley of the waves. Not like you bought it from outside.
Food within Valley of the waves is not great either.

Expected the "newly renovated" Sun city to be a whole lot better. Guess it's ok for families with a little extra buck who don't expect too much luxury.

Overboard catering for tourist and nect door areas falls to pieces..

Swimming is still the most popular way to get past the most famous and most popular destination to the republic

Don't go if you don't have tons of money, everything costs an arm or a leg.

We went there for HIGH TEA. The entrance and ambiance on entry was simply awesome. You feel like you on a movie set..
Like a celebrity.

We had some salmon sandwiches and some awesome cake and macrons. The Chef was available to consult with us as to what ingredients she had used.

The. Macarons...I think I had more than my fair share...lol..simply divine...especially the red ones.

The service...as one expects...friendly and on point.

A great place to bring the family to relax. So much to do,but so little time

If you visit South Africa and don't visit Sun city it's like an incomplete trip. This place is out of the world and one is pampered in this luxury resort spread over acres of forest and hills. A must to see and feel. A beautiful hotel with large suite like rooms. This is definitely a 7 star establishment. There is so much too see and you are not confined to your room. The place us surrounded with sport activities. Theater to watch movie, a boat ride in the lake, a visit to see and touch the big cats. If I get another chance I would surely visit this place again. The food, fauna and flora is like out of the world. A lovely place for family vacation.

Very nice, front desk staff at cabanas not very friendly.

Room nice. Toilet in bathroom very uncomfortable. Felicia at reception made very good impression.

A mecca of opulence in the northwest platinum fields.

Cascades Hotel is still a luxurious place with beautiful settings. Each room overlooks an impeccable garden and the mountains. For those who sleeps with their curtains open like me, the sunrise is most beautiful.

Never get tired of this place . Was there in March and already I want to go back . Weather always perfect .

Nice and clean just a bit dull, the new renovations have somewhat made it look a bit older. Otherwise a good weekend trip for a full family.

Its still a nice place to go but lacks the wow factor. Time had caught up & is in need of new ideas.
