I waited here for hours to speak to a psychiatrist...

I waited here for hours to speak to a psychiatrist and there were a few other people waiting around that had arrived hours before me. When I finally got someone to speak to and told them my issue the woman said that it wasn't that bad and at least I wasn't like this other patient( referring to one of the girls that I had been in the waiting room with). Then went on to share some stuff about that patient that she'd talked to right before me
(said she was on drugs and got her kids taken away or something idk if it's legal for her to tell me those things)
I said I wasn't sure about the stuff I was experiencing which is why I wanted to talk to a psychiatrist to get help and then she told me she could schedule me an appointment with one. Up until that point I was under the impression that she was the psychiatrist since I specifically asked to speak to one when I came in. She asked about my religious beliefs and I said I wasn't religious then she told me maybe if I prayed my problems would all go away. Also told me that I was too well spoken, too stylish, and too pretty? to be dealing with the things I said I was dealing with.
I asked when I could speak to an actual psychiatrist or someone and she started trying to convince me to stay as an inpatient saying things like "if you stay we could get you some medicine by tonight". I said I wasn't interested in drugs I just wanted to talk to a professional and she kept pushing me to stay to the point where I was wondering if she would trap me there. She made it seem as if I were there for drugs when all I asked was to speak to a psychiatrist. Then she said she could get me a group therapy session or something like that but I decided not to go because of my horrible experience after just one meeting with her.
After years I finally was able to build up the courage to get help but leaving this appointment I felt extremely suicidal even though I hadn't felt that way when I showed up. This place should really get a professional staff who knows about mental health before they actually kill someone.(if they haven't already)

This place was terrible. Staff was terribly rude. Only about 4 people actually cared about you. I was in the adolescence unit and all they did was put you in a room everyday for 14 hours with the same people. I have migraines that are terrible and am prescribed medication for it. They wouldn t give me my medicine, instead they gave me a Tylenol which is what I tried overdosing on. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY!!!!

DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE. I would give zero stars if I could. This hospital is incredibly negligent and allowed a minor to be assaulted TWICE in the same day by another patient and denied her medical assistance after her attack even though she was injured. I do not recommend whatsoever, there are much better facilities than summit ridge. Do not let your child suffer. Minors are in a single day room the whole day and all they do as part of their treatment is color and do worksheets. This facility is not a good one, steer clear.

I ended up here through a combination of a psychotic episode and heroin and cocaine withdrawal. I was thrown into a room for 2 days by myself with meals delivered 2 times a day. I was not eating and due to the heroin withdrawals. I was in a manic state and was very resistant to anyone else after coming out of isolation. Everyone there seemed like they were more concerned with the "easier" patients then deal with me in that state. I ended up being transported to georgia regional and eventually to peachford. Summit ridge is not qualified to look after a puppy much less mental health patients.

I wish I could even say they re trying, but the only thing they did for me was hold me against my will whilst going through a crisis. I was ignored for over 48 hours and not seen by any professionals, and I was even shamed and gaslighted when I presented this as an issue. Patient advocate did nothing for me upon request. There are a few employees in there making a huge difference, but this place left me with heavy heavy PTSD. They push pills and treatment onto you, and if you don t accept, they have the power to keep you as long as they would like. If you have the power to send your loved one someone else, please do.

I would first like to say that there are a few great staff members that are very compassionate. They work hard and do their job, and sometimes go beyond. However the lack of communication, unprofessional attitudes and sometimes very rude behavior from one particular employee was beyond what I could handle at times. I heard an employee say shut the F up to a patient and it made me feel very unsafe. This same employee loves to trigger patients too. She should find a different job. She is awful at taking care of patients in the adult unit. In fact, me and a few other patients called her the pot-stirrer because our group would be doing great and her abrasive attitude would get everyone on edge as soon as she entered the room.
Thank goodness I m home. I don t ever want to endure that again

Needs to communicate better with family members on the status of their loved ones. Please hire more staff for this purpose and you will get less reviews from people who are concerned.

I've had better communication from my Dog's veterinarian, if that tells you anything.

The Intensive Outpatient program was beneficial. However, I ended up with a bill that my insurance did not fully cover and the hospital never informed me until after treatment when they knew my portion before treatment. I was there half days and when I asked to attend full days I was told my insurance bill would not allow. This was not the case. Also, the wait times for assessment were long. Extremely difficult to get staff on the phone for inquiries.

I called to speak to a friend, and they put me on hold for 40 minutes. I have the patient ID number and the name, and they were clueless. They were abrasive and absolutely not helpful, and after an hour, we still have not contacted him. They insisted that either he wasn't there or that he was in another unit, so we bounced back and forth between departments until a staff member told us to hang up.
