Helen, Sue, Sherrie, Terry - and ALL of the operators in the shop are TOP NOTCH artists!! I have been going to MZ since 1998! There are so many kind people in the shop - and the artists who do nails, makeup, massage, hair coloring - to mention a few of their services, are all done to a customer's complete satisfaction! Long live Studio MZ!

I went to Studio MZ and had Amy as my stylist. She barely consulted with me as to what I wanted before running to mix dye. Naturally, what I walked out with was not even close to any of the pictures I presented her with or verbally told her I wanted. Instead of the warm auburn hair I asked for, I walked out with hair that was several shades too dark, very cool-toned, and looked purple. Amy also refused to treat my 2B wavy hair as curly, and insisted on cutting it wet and pulled straight, leaving me with hair that, when curly, is above my shoulders and barely goes into a ponytail.

They did try to fix it the next day - a stylist named Sue gave it a shot. I only got the appointment for them to fix it after multiple phone calls and crossed communication. Sue not only repeatedly told me that I didn t want hair that bright when I showed her photos of what I wanted, but also refused to do highlights, even though that was part of the initially botched service with Amy. Their fix perhaps lightened my hair a shade. I m now scheduled at a different salon to see if someone else can fix what they did.

Furthermore, compared to other area salons, Studio MZ is not nearly as clean, modern, or nicely furnished. Their equipment appears old and worn out, and they seem to be disorganized.

The only thing giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is that they did try to fix my hair. I will never go back.

I live in Chicago now, but refuse to go anywhere besides Studio MZ for my hair! It is 100% worth the flight home

Taylor was amazing. Best cut and color i have had in a long time. I would highly recommend.
