Very rude council member! Had one member of the council bring a bin bag full of rubbish in to my workplace and rudely accused me of using council bins! It was nothing to do with me but one of my new colleagues had put a bin bag in the wrong bin on my day off. (He used the council bin instead of our own biffa bins that we pay for) had i been asked politely i would of happily appologised and moved the bin bag myself rather than the council member removing the bin bag from the bin and bringing it into my workplace and dumping it infront of the till area infront of customers!

They have promised three times to move it and each time they don't manage I have called back and been given another deadline bu which it will be removed and it's not. They have failed utterly. I pay my taxes, they take there wage but fail to do there job properly!

I have just reported 4 builders' transit vans and pick-ups with engines running for half an hour or more two to three times a day in my street to the Glos Police who told me to phone Stroud Environmental Health Dept. The SEHD were then, typically it seems, very unhelpful and said that, as the Highway Code rule 123 states that engines of stationary vehicles should not be left running for more than 2 minutes, it is a Police matter. So each service, for which we pay our huge taxes every year, are passing the buck to each other and neither doing anything to stop it and the cowboy builders are getting away with polluting an already polluted area even more. Climate change is inevitable with that pathetic attitude.

I've never had any cause for complaint with Stroud District Council, they've always handled my enquiries well. Their budgets are always being cut and nobody ever wants to pay any more council tax. Having lived in other areas in the county under other other councils, there is much worse out there.

I have always found any department I have had to deal with either in a business or private capacity to be very polite and helpful.
Since posting this comment I have had occasion to seek help from SDC Business Rates section in relation to government grants during the lockdown. They were exceptionally helpful- full marks!

Terrible service, I've made countless phone calls regarding the same issue, only to be told there is a back log. I completely understand that and have been very patient, but after months of waiting for the issue to be resolved and a payment to be made, they couldn't even get that right!
