Always a pleasure too attend. Billy Elliott was amazing.
Beautiful city, great architecture, good shows, excellent food. Totally recommended experience.
Beautiful friendly city with a spectacular Festival hiding within.
Billy Elliott, the musical was great. Loved the atmosphere. Loved the gardens. The production was fantastic. Great music, great dancing!
I love this theater, the level of production and talent is under rated ...
Fabulous play of The Tempest, nice inside bar/cafe as well.
So many wonderful memories and it s still a vibrant, innovative theatre.
Interesting and informative displays. Lovely setting indoors and outdoors. Well worth a visit.
Nice theatre. Wonderful production.Would highly recommend.
Best place to view, excellent acoustics, great show!
The theatre is uniformly great and Stratford is wonderful town. Lot of choices for accommodation and dining. We go every year if we can.
World class entertainment in a uniquely spectacular environment. Feed the artistic streak in you and see a show. You won't soon forget it.
Great place for a different type of entertainment. I watched The Music Man when I went. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
It was my first time at the Festival this past weekend. Beautiful Gardens outside. Concession stands we're always packed so it was hard to get a drink during intermission. The performance itself was amazing. Went to see Music Man. I was super impressed during the entire production... Everything went so smoothly. I also felt like I had the Best seat from the balcony.
My favourite Canadian theatre venue. Great selections every year. Great actors. Lovely location. Terrifc gift shops.
Thoroughly enjoy taking on a performance at the Festival Theatre. Aside from their world class shows, superb acting, and stellar performances, the Theatre itself is also great. Gardens are amazing, very picturesque! The buildings and grounds are well maintained so no real evidence of crowds of people in the building show after show after show. Located along the river makes it ideal to spend a day in the area not just the show times.
Stratford was originally the place name of the writer Shakespeare's hometown in the UK, and later established Stratford town in Ontario, Canada. Every summer, the theater has a variety of musicals, suitable for the family to watch.
I've seen a handful of plays and musicals at the Stratford Festival now and I have always been inspired by the shows. There is a lot of talent, hard work, and dedication in those shows and they always do a great job.
I went to watch "To Kill A Mockingbird," and it was phenomenal. The seats were all perfectly placed, everything was clean, and most of all, the play was just amazing
Went for Othello. Performance was great, immersive. Also, check the theatre cafe.
Amazing theater, great show, friendly staff and above all great positive experience.
One of the most underrated sources of entertainment, and the cast always hit it put of the park.
THE premiere place to see theatre in Canada. I grew up coming to Stratford every year with high school. The Shakespeare plays are always thought provoking and beautifully staged. The modern plays and musicals are fantastic and engaging. The casts and crews are professional and wonderful examples to young actors. And the setting - the Festival Theatre on the banks of the Avon River, the Avon Theatre in the heart of the small Ontario town of Stratford (take the time to dine, shop and explore) is priceless. It's a lovely experience for an afternoon or for a weekend. One of the mandatory experiences in Ontario.
Beautiful little town. Great show and awesome Thai restaurant.
Beautiful theatre with seats surrounding the stage. Fully wheelchair accessible. Large banquet Hall in back for weddings. Gorgeous gardens and great gift shop!
Amazing! Every production I've seen here is spectacular.
Great classic plays. Well designed venue. Awesome actors.
Wonderful!!!! Fabulous productions. The festival is a Canadian icon. Not to be missed. The town of Stratford is well worth a look-see as well.
We try to see a play the every year, it is a fun outing and the are plenty of fine restaurants to dine at too.
Exciting theatre. So close so affordable. So professional. Beautiful settings. Go see!
Great theatre with good views to the stage throughout the building.
I saw Billy Elliott. The production was fantastic.
Seats were great.
Great theatre and grounds. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. I did think that the flower beds were looking quite dried out though.
Always the greatest plays and musicals. Productions are always the highest caliber. Truly a wonderful experience and there is always something on for everybody during the season.
Beautiful place, incredible garden! If you want to have a space to read or just walk you can visit this beautiful place.
Great Time to Visit Stratford and the plays. If travelling from Toronto, take the special bus (leather seats, WIFI) arranged by The Festival.
Wonderful theatre tours, very informative and kind volunteer guides and superlative performances. Loved the gardens
My sister and I saw Julius Caesar. The costumes struck me first thing and the wardrobe was excellent throughout the play. All the actors were 5 Star reviews! I was overwhelmed at times of how large and wonderfully choreographed every scene and act was played out. Brava!!
We came to see Mockingbird and Julius Caesar. Both were excellent shows. The theatre is very nice, and I'd say there are no bad seats in the house. It's cold inside due to AC, bring a sweater.
Wonderful experience. Top quality performance in one if the most beautiful theaters I've seen. We enjoyed Art in the Park prior to the show as well. Beautiful town.
beautiful architecture. One of the best buildings in town. I have watched several plays in there and they are really good. Props, actors/actresses are professionally done. The winterfest and Stratford summer music festival (not related to Stratford festival) are all happening in front of this building.
The Music Man had first rate singing, dancing, acting and staging! A must see.
Have no words. Billy Elliott the musical was spellbinding
Very much enjoyed a production of Romeo and Juliet with a group of people. My first time to this renowned theatre and I enjoyed seeing the town as well.
The Festival Theatre is a special venue with the layout and resources to present world-class productions. Every seat in the house is good.
Great show. This was my first time going to Stratford Festival and it was great. The show was great. The town is nice and has some nice restaurants. It is great for strolling.
Avon Theatre productions are usually more inventive while Festival Productions seem more traditional.
Absolutely amazing theatre with incredible talent. I actually enjoy the overpriced snacks...not even joking. I tell myself I won't buy stuff everytime, but everytime...I buy stuff and love it.
The festival stage of modern Shakespearean plays, and other live performances.
We attended the Stratford Festival's "The Music Man" and were blown away by the performance.
The performers were energetic and believable in the portrayal of their characters. The youth actors were as professional as the seasoned pros and could they sing! The music was lively and I am still singing the tunes after a week.
The theatre itself is wonderfully laid out with a stage that juts into the semi circular seats. This means that even sitting at the back, you feel close to the stage and the performers (including the leads) use the entire stage, so sitting to the side is not a problem as you will still feel the play is directed to you.
If you get a chance to see this performance, you should definitely go.
It's easily on par with the plays I've seen in Toronto. Each year there seems to be one play specifically for me. And when I see one it's 5 stars. Tommy and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe were fantastic.
Saw Music Man and An Ideal Husband. Both were excellent. Only criticism is an Ideal Husband was a bit slow in the first half but hilarious in the second half.
Saw "The Music Man" - Great show! Excellent choreography as well.
Impressed with the quality of sound and lighting. Would definitely come again!
World class stage, sets and shows.
Always a treat to see a theatre production here!
love going here. I can see 6 plays in three day. I am amazed by how it works, set changes. If I am attending a shakepeare play, I would get ear phones or better seats. They do a great job with musicals as well. One of the theatre is difficult to go to for me, too many stairs.
Often a collection of wonderful shows. Saw the Music Man this year and the cast was excellent. A very well put together show.
I cannot say enough about the theatre. Always an outstanding performance, really excelling in many different areas.
We saw the Front Page. The Festival Theatre is not a good venue for this kind of play. We were on one side and missed most of the dialogue unless the actors were facing our direction. There were whole sections when the other side of the audience was laughing and there was dead silence on our side, so it's not just my hearing. Had this been done in a traditional theatre it would have worked much better.
This is the venue, the best venue outside of the UK to experience the Bard's plays. Bravo to those treading these boards; wonderful interpretation of Shakespeare's words.
The festival theatre is a great venue (tip: women's washroom on basement level are never busy). Second performance we've now taken in; the fabulous acting draws the viewer into the stories. You'll leave Stratford energized.
Performances are top notch however the theatre is looking a little tired.
Seen To Kill A Mockingbird it was fantastic. As for the theatre itself however, seats were not comfortable and leg room was less than airplane space. Made it quite difficult to sit for almost 3 hours. Washrooms were in good repair and lots of them making intermission easily accessible, even the snack bar was pretty fast however MASSIVELY over priced, theatre was fairly warm and dry desperately needed water on break. *picture is seat at 4/P/33
A great trip to see great theater in a beautiful environment. The Music Man was my favorite this time!
