This place has such amazing desserts! We went in for for macarons and came home with 6 different cakes, pastries and cookies! Heather (and everyone there) was awesome! We will be back and are looking forward to the kids concerts!

Quack's newest location has been built with care on the ruins of Strange Brew, and the result is a new coffee shop, bakery, and soon-to-be music venue that already feels quite homey.

Fans of the 43rd St location will see lots of familiar pastries and coffee offerings in more spacious digs. I really enjoyed the cherry Danish and chocolate scone. Down the road, there will be more savory offerings and a beer/wine bar, which I'm looking forward to seeing.

Also, unlike some other coffee /event joints in the area, there is also plenty of available parking. This makes Quack's a good spot for a quick drop-in as well as longer hangouts.

I m giving three stars solely based on the service received. We were not greeted and we felt as though we were bothering the staff. It was very off putting and will keep us from coming back.
The pastries were delicious. So impressed with the variety and the quality. We really enjoyed what we ordered. We won t be back though. The staff was cold, put off, and both looked like they pulled their clothes out of the dirty laundry.
Sunday approx. 11:30 am August 9

Disappointed

UPDATE: We decided to give this bakery one more try since we enjoyed the pastries so much. We were delighted to be greeted by two very friendly employees! We chatted with them for a few minutes and they directed us to the back patio area. They also promoted sandwiches and encouraged us to come hang out and have coffee and use the WiFi.
We, of course enjoyed our pastries, coffee and tea. It s hot today but we still sat out back at tables under umbrellas.
Sunday 11:30 am August 30
We will be back- crossing our fingers these two nice employees are here

This place is a great spot to meet up with people. They have ample indoor and outdoor seating, and a large selection of baked goods and coffee drinks. They even have some vegan baked goods including 3 vegan cupcake flavors, vegan truffles, vegan chocolate cake, and vegan granola bar.

Great coffee, great music. Tons of vegan baked goodies and non-dairy milks. Love seeing another local business in this strip. Looking forward to many more visits as this Austin staple grows into its new location.

I made the mistake of trying a new bakery a few days ago when I should have just baked something myself. The cupcakes here are bland and the cake is dry and anticlimactic. Spend your money at your local panaderia instead.

I love this place. The staff is always friendly. I remember the old coffee place that was here before where mean managers ruined the place that otherwise was loved by everyone who came there. I hope the managers of this new place don't do the same thing.

I fell for the reviews. All I wanted was cupcakes. Only getting 2 stars because service was great, but that s it! How can you mess up a chocolate cupcake? It was tasteless. It s a bakery and I got a sampling of a crummy cupcake, a stale coffee cake, 2 other mediocre cakes and really bitter coffee. All the food I ordered ended up in the trash. The lady was more sweet than the food. The place is great, so is the patio. The sweet lady said everything here is good but she lied to my face. Lol The food sucks. I believed her. Now believe me, you have been warned.

Awesome staff, amazing baked goods and the coffee is killer too. I have not been there to drink alcohol, but when they open fully, they do have a licensed bar in the evenings.

I can heartily recommend stopping by to try any of the balery items and coffee.

Quack's is awesome! Delicious pastries, sweets, and savory sammies. Super cool staff, plus two for one pastries at night. I'm absolutely loving their newest location in south Austin, right in my neighborhood!

I am really sorry I have to do this but I've been looking forward to going into this bakery since it opened and I I had an intense craving for a sticky bun but the sticky bun was overshadowed by some white flaky drizzly icing on it that over shadowed the sticky sauce and the pecans. Also no matter how much she nuked it it was hard as a rock I could barely get it down so I threw three quarters of it away. Really not a good experience unfortunately. On top of that when I questioned if she had any without this white drizzle on it she asked me if I ever had a sticky bun??! Ridiculous question I'm sorry quacks. This visit was not good for me

I love the north location and I'm really happy that I don't have to go north now to get my fix when I'm craving awesome pie. The pie is amazing. I'm looking forward to what these folks after going to do with the old Strange Brew venue.

This place has a great vibe and I enjoy the patio. The only reason I didn't give more stars is that there are no pastries that are gluten free. There are several vegan options but nothing GF or GF/Vegan. Also, they were out of two of the three teas I tried to order. Hoping to see more allergy friendly options soon! (I know GF is difficult to do if you don't have a designated GF kitchen, but even something prepacked and brought in would be rad!)

Excited they finally opened. Macchiato was ok. Scone and cheese danish were delicious, but huge. I wish pastries were smaller.
Wish they had some tacos or a little more real food.
Not a fan of the all teal interior but excited for when they open the bar area and have performances.
There's a few tables lined outside, but no real patio.
But I'm excited for something new and the cakes and desserts look amazing and they are dangerously close. They even have something called "eat your feelings cake", I'm sure I'll be trying that one stressful night
