$12 per person for a 6 small sample wine tasting now? Get real.
Most of your wines don't even cost $12 a bottle. I bet most people do exactly what my wife and I did, which is laugh and leave.
Definitely NOT the same winery this was a few years ago.

I really appreciate the tour and the wines, they will give you the background of the company and how they are making the wines, absolutely they have world class wines. before the tour we already start tasting the wines and the foods that they serve, i will definitely encourage people to buy wines of stonehill because they are using 90percent of the grapes that they used to make wines and probably 100 percent if they can do it, that makes the wines originally where i t came from. As for the foods i spent 116 dollars to taste different kind of food they serve and i will rate it from 3 star if 5 is the highest, they really need to improve their menu. Anyway i enjoyed the tour, wines, scenery, and most of all the funny tour guide, i just forgot his name but diffenetly i have picture of him posted!!

We loved our tasting experience with Kay. She was a lot of fun. She was passionate about wine and did a great job talking about Stonehill's wines. Some were good and some were pretty average but she made it a lot of fun.

Tour was great, but after a long weekend already I opted out of the wine tasting. I look forward to it next time. However I did hear a lot of praise for the wine from other visitors. Hope to make a trip back very soon!

One of the best wineries in the state, with a great atmosphere. Every time we go we take a tour of the grounds. Only disappointment that I ever have is when a tour guide doesn't give enough of the rich history of the place and area. They have done a wonderful job of preserving the property and can't wait to see what they do next! Not home to my favorite wines, but many are very good. I usually prefer super-sweet wines, and they offer a few that satiate my palate.

There are many beautiful views from this winery. It has a charming atmosphere. The store is full of great gift ideas and fun favorites for wine lovers. You can purchase any of their wines from the store as well. We had fun sampling all of the wines from a list and discovered some new favorites! The cellar tours and samples do have a cut off time, so plan accordingly. You can dine here and listen to live entertainment.

This is by far my favorite winery I have ever been to. The tour was absolutely lovely and the tasting was a boat load of fun. The ozark hellbender is my new favorite red wine. The grounds are very well maintained and are great for photos or generally sitting outside. I came down with a group of buddies and we had a blast, a couple bachelor/bachelorette parties were there at the same time we were. Overall just an amazing experience.

We are not too much into wine (craft beer folks), but Kyle was fantastic introducing us to all the different wines during our tasting. (Brought a year's worth ). The tour is free and really cool. Had lunch and it was fantastic. These folks go out of their way with friendliness, makes you feel at home.

Me and boyfriend did tastings $5 each which is great but we just felt like our tasting experience was rushed and not personal at all. We didn't get to interact with the server and learn about the wines. I understand that they were busy but that was the fastest wine tasting we've ever experienced. The wines we're great though! We also did the wine cellar tour which was pretty awesome! The view and set up of this place was very beautiful. Hopefully everyone else has a better wine tasting experience.

The staff was very friendly. I didn't like the charge for tasting wine. I was planning on buying a case, but did not due to not wanting to buy a wine from a winery without a taste. The tasting costs, even for one , what appeared to be a half ounce pour, was the norm for the area.

There seemed to be a disconnect from the staff to the wine makers, since they were the only able to answer the most basic questions, and did not offer to find out the info that I was seeking out.

I've done the tour several times in the past, and it was very interesting and guides kept us entertained.

The wine did taste good (mostly the Vignolles and its variants), though I am far from a wine connoisseur.

I've been visiting Stone Hill since the early 90s. I'm happy to see its growth and will definitely return for further visits.

My husband and I had dinner on Tuesday August 13. While my husbands dinner was an average three star, I ordered the chicken spaetzle with blue cheese and found it to be inedible because it was loaded with garlic. He tasted it and found the same garlic flavor. I cannot overstate how bad this dish was. Neither of us are experts on German food, so I researched and found several spaetzle recipes on-line and none of them used garlic. This dish was not prepared properly and I should not have had to pay for it (but did not ask for a freebie). I only give it two stars because my German Trio special was edible. I have had much better German food in other US cities. The Norton red wine was good and the service was good too. But the food was not.

Did the tour during October Fest. The tour guide was fun, informative and very knowledgeable. He had a great sense of humor. The restaurant was really cute built in the old stable....food was pretty tasty! Really enjoyed the tasting.

This is an amazing view of Hermann, the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about the history of Hermann. In 1965 this was the first Missouri Winery that sparked the growth of wine in Missouri. If you are going to Hermann this is wonderful place for a great group photo too:)
Cheers, Chris K.

Perfect place to visit with friends. Only $5 for ample tastings of 6 wines-- which were great! Cute shopping area. We didn't do the tour, but I'm sure it would've only added to the experience. We bought our bottle and glass then sat outside at a picnic table overlooking the vineyard. Couldn't have asked for a better time.

For being very close to downtown Hermann, Stone Hill cannot handle the amount of people that come through. There isn't enough seating to hang out outside, and the only way to get a glass of wine outside of the tasting (which is strangely scheduled) is in the restaurant.

This brings me to the restaurant. We were there with a group of 13 people, but they split us up into 2 groups. That was understandable, but we then waited almost an hour for our food. The menu was German style pub food, but the restaurant was making attempts at being nicer than that. It just doesn't work.

So...I have seldom tasted wine in this part of the country that I thought was fit to drink...HOWEVER!!!...a trip here changed my mind PLUS the tour and surroundings were really beautiful. Kinda made you forget where you were! This is about like going to one of the older wineries in Napa or Sonoma. Absolutely loved it and will go back over and over. DO THE TOUR!!!!

I had the short braised ribs which were tasty. My wife had a house salad with French onion soup. The service was good. If you like German food you are in luck. If you are looking for more traditional American food you should go elsewhere. The Stone Hill tasting room was great! You will receive 6 pours for $5/person.

We had the most wonderful food and Norton wine pairings. The Norton grape is unsung and should be explored by anyone who wants to talk wine history- there s a lot here! Stonehill Winery has great vintners, and the owners John and Karen Held are amazing people! Their staff openly express their passion about incredible wine, food and service! This will be a favorite destination you will want to return to!

You all need a new web site designer. I've tried 3 times now, unsuccessfully, to order something with no luck. I add it to the cart and the cart says it is empty. I have now moved on to a competitor's web site.

We had a great time. Due to the times, tourists are few in number but that makes the time spent pleasurable. Location is beautifully done and worth the trip. We met folks from Florida, Texas, and St. Louis. Anyone looking for a day trip (or a few hours) should add Stone Hill Winery to their calendar.

We ended up here towards the end of our Hermann tour and it was hopping. The Cajun Festival looked fun with live music and dancing. They have lots of events like this so be sure to check the schedule. Three tasting rooms and a complimentary tour. We didn't do the tour but the tasting was good.

Always a pleasure. The estate is fabulous. The staff is always helpful and friendly, be it at I-70 or Hermann.

One of the few large commercial wineries that doesn't charge for sampling.

The first winery we went to - ever (many years ago.)

We usually always get at least one bottle. Be sure to signup for their VIP club.

Such a beautiful winery! The tasting is only 12 dollars and you get to keep your glass! The staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly. I reccomend the Sherri as it can only be bought there on the site or online and it tastes superb. The blackberry wine is excellent.

Had some take out from the Vintage House - the dill schnitzel. It always satisfies. Had an Urban Chestnut beer to accompany. O-Katz...... Lovely view at Stone Holl in a very charismatic town.

I had not been in probably 20 years and I intend to return. The place has grown more beautiful with time. We tried their restaurant and their reuben was delicious! You can also order to-go and take your food outside on the grounds to eat. Highly recommended.

We just did the tasting, which was nice. They also happened to be having a Cajun festival the same day, so we checked out the live music. Although we didn't do the cellar tour, we will definitely check it out next time. Oh, and beautiful view!

Missouri's largest winery, Stone Hill is located at the top of a hill in beautiful Hermann. They have multiple tasting rooms. The wines are so-so. I really did not care for their sweet blends. Otherwise, it is a nice setting with a lot of history.
