Good wine, good German food. Rustic setting (old barn), high class dining. Likely to be a wait during Maifest or Oktoberfest. Favorite spot for young ladies to gather their bridesmaids.

Very friendly and knowledgeable. Wines were excellent and learned alot during the tour regarding the wine making process and the history of the winery, as well as MO itself .
I don't drink wine but I brought my husband here for some wine tasting and dinner. He loved the wines so much that we brought home 6 bottles! We took the free tour through the cellars and it was very interesting and informative. Jani (I hope I got that right) was our guide and I really enjoyed the history she shared with us, it was the best wine tour we have ever had. The cellars were amazing! Then we went into the barn for dinner and it did NOT disappoint! You can sit in a horse stall and order authentic German food here. The staff were friendly and kept our glasses full. The food came out pretty quickly and tasted great! We have lived in 8 states, been to 48 states, and visited several wineries. This by far was the most unique, beautiful, and historic winery so far. Everything was excellent and we absolutely loved our afternoon spent here. Will definitely be back for sure!
Staff was rude, wine was okay, they don't have wifi, and they served their wine from plastic dixie cups.
My wife and I stop here everytime when in Hermann. A little more commercial than I like but a good solid winery with good wines. They have a tour, tastings, a nice gift shop, and a nice resteraunt. They also have events throughout the year to make things a little more interesting. This is one of the stops for the Herrmann Trolley.
Great selection and affordable wines. Very pretty vineyard.
Customer service was not great, cashier didn't smile or ask if we needed anything as we checked out the store.
Went for dinner with a friend & we both had the Schwein schnitzel. One with the dill sauce, one with the Jager sauce. We had the spicy cheese curds & I enjoyed the Chestnut Urban beer. All very delicious. I did a wine tasting the next day as well. I really liked the Norton & the kickin' kolada wines.
I wish I could have drawn out my visit to town, but I was there for my 30 yr HS reunion & time was limited.
The quintessential winery experience in Hermann. Good wine, cool tour, reasonable pricing. This is always a stop on our winery trips!
This is a beautiful old winery on one of the highest hills in Hermann, MO. We got a carry out lunch with a glass of wine at the restaurant and ate on a picnic table under a tree overlooking their vineyards. Wine tasting, wine bar, and gift shop also available.
Very disappointed with the factor that since Octoberfest was going on this weekend I found that the price of the wine I drink was higher than normal and when I asked the cashier she said yes we did go up in price due to the featival. I am a regular customer who goes often for lunch and our lunch today was so much less than good and the server seemed to not care. I get you are there to make money but I am sad that you are willing to sacrifice the happiness of a regular customer to please the once a year customers.
The staff is knowledgeable and helpful can bee expensive to take a your though.
A truly wonderful and multi-faceted experience for people of all interests! Stone Hill offers great variety in that it provides it's visitors with a very rich history of Hermann as well as with incredible selections of wine. Additionally, the staff of Stone Hill are incredibly friendly, engaging, and willing to go out of their way to help enhance the Stone Hill experience!
Their norton wine is fantastic. Great setting. The tour is a lot of fun too.
I loved to setting, and the staff was very kind and knowledgeable. Large building with a restaurant. We chose not to eat but just a wine taste. I would think that a establishment of this size would be able to have tastings for free, as most of the small places we visited in the area are free. Otherwise very nice.
Great wine selection, good tour. Beautiful grounds!
Excellent free tour of the Winery. Large selection of wines on hand.
Wine is phenomenal. Doug was very knowledgeable. Warm and inviting atmosphere.
We did the cellar tour and wine tasting both were very good. The cellars were pretty interesting to hear the history of the plane. Definitely worth a couple hour visit if you are in the area.
The wine tasting room is staffed by friendly, competent servers. They brought chairs and a table for us when we asked. The sausage, saurbraten, red cabbage, German potato salad, and shrimp salad were all excallent!
The tour is a must if you enjoy hearing about history and seeing wine cellars! My Mom, sister and I visited and enjoyed this winery. We all found something we liked and bought several bottles. Try the port!
Very historical building and Very nice atmosphere for couples and families. Also very nice restaurant to eat.
Very disappointed with Stone Hill's management skills . They advertised shrimp boil 12 to 5 . We got there at 1 & they were sold out. We picked this weekend to go to Hermann because of the shrimp boil. After 4 hours on a train we get there to be told they are sold out.
Great place to visit, even if you don't like wine.
Very beautiful place to spend the afternoon.
Stone Hill was recommended by our Bed and Breakfast host as the most authentic German style restaurant in Hermann, it delivered. Our meal was better than any German food we ve had in the US and as good as any we had while living in Germany. I had the Trio , Schnitzel, Wurst and Sauerbraten, it was all excellent. My wife had Spaetzle with Grilled Chicken, she enjoyed her meal as well. Our server was Sam and she provided impeccable service. We liked the uncomplicated sweet white wine we had with the meal. All in all an enjoyable evening.
Wonderful views, great staff! Restaurant was great at accommodating a vegan diet.
Dude, this place is awesome. So many wine samples to put into your mouth to taste with the same thing pretty much all day long as you can get a new battery for cheap and easy way to get a playstation or a little bit of a new one of those things that are available in the morning.
We were disappointed in the way they had wurst fest set up. It has been much better in past years....and $6.00 for a bottle of mediocre beer....not sure we will go any time soon
Very enjoyable and informative wine tasting by Jess!
Great wine. Cost a little more than most 12 dollars for tasting 6 wines
Fantastic tasting room. Everyone was helpful and personable. Beautiful grounds and delicious food and wine. The restaurant was cozy; service was prompt and friendly. Best part: I left my wallet behind and they kept it for me until the next day. Can't wait to come back!
Took the tour today. The guide was very knowledgeable.
You must check this place and restaurant. Great great place for a nice relax quick get away spot.
Stone Hill Winery and Vintage Restaurant sits atop a hill overlooking the historic town of Hermann, MO. Of all the wineries in Hermann, Stone Hill offers the most inspiring views. Take the tour and see the caverns built generations ago where barrels of wine are aged. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and will proudly talk about the awards taken by Stone Hill s wines at state and national competitions. We bought a bottle of 2013 Norton and enjoyed it outside at one of the many picnic tables around the grounds. There are two large tasting rooms, and despite two tour buses full of visitors on hand, we were able to belly up for a tasting without waiting. There is a restaurant on site but we did not try it. You can definitely plan to spend a whole afternoon or evening here.
One of the largest wineries in Missouri you should definitely visit. They have tastings, great wine, delicious food, and often live entertainment.
Very nice tour or the operation complete with the opportunity to sample many of the wines. The tour guide did a better job explaining the chemistry of wine better than any chemistry professor I ever had. The restaurant was nice also
Great winery to visit! Tasting rooms, large store, take a tour and have dinner!
I feel their wines are ok and they leave me wondering how they have won so many awards when I have, in my opinion, have had better.
First time there and we loved it! Both did a wine tasting and came home with 6 bottles. Great variety of flavors! Gift shop was awesome to wander through as well. Lots of natural products and wine gear/apparel.
Nice Sunday afternoon stop. Inexpensive tasting available for locally grown varietals like Norton, Vignoles, Muscato, and Chambourcin.
This place is a must see in Hermann! The tour is excellent and the tasting rooms were very quaint. The wines are really good! Selection is excellent. Property and view is amazing
Says pet friendly. Wrong. They wouldn t let us in even with our puppy in a secure bag/purse. Only registered service dogs are allowed. Just lost a good customer.
I was first introduced to Stone Hill Wine at a tour in Branson Missouri at the Stone Hill's Satellite Bottling plant & Wine Store it was quite informational and very informal and after the tour they took us into a tasting room where we introduced to Stone Hill's Excellent selection of wine. They taught the people who did not know how to taste wine how to taste wine properly. Since I had worked for a large liquor store that had an amazing selection of wine I had already been taught the finer social graces of wine tasting. I find Stone Hill's wine to be an awesome choice of wines mainly to the best choice of grape's chosen by the lead grower at the vineyard and the people put in charge of fermentation of the grapes in the wine making process and Stone Hill Wineries fine traditions of histories best wine growers from around the world. Not to mention the best techniques for producing some of the finest wines that I've had the pleasure of drinking. Bravo Stone Hill you've achieved Excellence of Technique and Tradition of one of the United States Best Wineries ever in my expert opinion and one of the Worlds Finest Wineries and Wine Producers this World will ever know.!.!.! I give the Stone Hill Winery My 5 Star Rating Congratulations you're my first pick for the best Concord Wine ever made in all the World's HISTORY Yours Sincerely Apostle Scott M. Oliphint.
Expensive but totally worth it! Best steak we've ever had!
Was there yesterday. Upon walking in the door, the girl sitting behind the counter, draped across the counter said, "do you want a tour? We said we weren't sure. She huffed and said well if you do I can scrounge someone up for you but it will take some time so let me know quick". I said, No thank you. We were walking around the bottles and a guy asked if he could help us. My mother in law, who is just starting to enjoy wines, asked about the chocolate wines she received from another vineyard. He said if you want that crap you can go to Wal-Mart. I looked at him and said, lets go mom. This place just densest want us to buy anything from them.We were there at 10:00 on 7-21-14. Will NVER return. Rude staff.
A must see in Hermann! Stonehill Winery has a great selection of wines, an informative and interesting winery tour, tasting room, shopping, and a wonderful and reasonably priced restaurant. You can spend several hours here.
Both of their sangria's were good, that's about it, other than the views which were amazing.
I tried 5 wines and didn't like a single one of them.
This was so upsetting. We saved this place for last, they closed at 5:30 we got there at 5:10 and they refused to a testing 20 min before they closed. Poor customer service.
Stumbled on place after getting lost..what a find definitely going back for seconds excellent food expensive wine...
I remembered this place fondly from visits over a dozen years ago and so when in Midwest last week made my party stop for a tasting. 5 wine samples for $5. That was fine and the girl gave me a few extra samples as my party pooped out and went outside to look around but the server knew nothing of the varieties in the blends or where the wines were from, grown on site or elsewhere. It made me sad to think I had been remembering it so differently. Maybe it was better and isn't. Maybe we just hit it on a bad day. Hopefully they train their servers better. Maybe I will try again next time we drive through, but then maybe not. I didn't have time for the tour this time around but if its like it was that would be worth it, so much history both for the winery and for the nation.
Wonderful food & friendly staff. A cut above what we expected.
I had the German Trio and it is probably the best meal I have had all year. The service was only so so, but holy cow the food was amazing.
