A&E staff fabulous at 1st contact, and then another visit with complications. From surgeons team to ward staffs and then physio cannot praise and thank them all enough on my road to recovery. We are so fortunate having our NHS. Thank you, every staff member at Stepping Hill hospital.

My doctor sent me to Stepping Hill at the end of July this year with a suspected stroke. I was seen within a minute of checking in at A&E, was assessed and discharged (thankfully not having suffered a stroke!) in less than an hour. The staff were very pleasant and took the time to listen to me. They were reassuring and highly professional - a credit to the NHS.
In March this year my husband broke his shoulder in a bad fall at home. Again, the staff were fantastic to him in every Department. Thanks to their expertise he has made a full recovery without the need for surgery. Thanks to every member of staff who have dealt with us.

On the 23rd October a had a hip replacement, and I wasn't looking forward to it. Reviews I had had from two or three people were less than complimentary about the care at the hospital. but once in the hospital all my fears vanished From the reception and post op to the after care WOW! it was absolutely wonderful.
I was put on ward D2. every shift from Cleaners to Nurses to Sisters and physio departments were so friendly and caring and total professional, I could not ask for any better treatment than I got, so to all those lovely nurses and workers a massive THANK YOU

Mixed experiences really, but overall positive, still gave five stars as I don't believe the negatives to be the fault of the staff or the hospital setup, likely funding and resources.

My daughter was born here and it was a little stressful for my partner and myself, majority of this was not the fault of the staff or the NHS.

Been to A&E far too many times, when I have been for myself I have found wait times can range from anything from an hour upto five, staff have always been brilliant and I have just put this down to funding and how busy it is, all the stalls and staff have always been busy, so have been working to full capacity.

Been to A&E once with my daughter (at around 6 months), she was seen in a matter of minutes.

Just spent three days at Stepping Hill Hospital having my appendix out. From start to finish the whole experience has been absolutely fantastic. I came out wanting to write a great trip advisor review! Definitely recommend.

I've been on most wards, spinal ward, short stay, surgical, a10, a13, b3, c3, d3, d4, A&e and Resuscitation, probably more than that.

The nurses always work hard, students nurses make the stay more bearable, some doctors need slapping, but you can see the nhs needs more money, thus not marking a point off for delays and understaff I've seen from time to time.

For every 1 good nurse or doctor there are at least 20 incompetent buffoons, my mum could have died through them because of a simple operation that those idiots neglected to do. I'm surprised no member of staff has been arrested because pulling stupid tricks like this should be crime and they deserve to be behind bars.
Don't both going to this dump unless you have a death wish

I had to take an elderly lady whom I am a carer for to A&E on Friday 17th January 2020. From arrival the care and concern of the staff was exemplary. We had a minimal wait to be seen and the efficiency with which she was treated through to her admission cannot be faulted. Sincere thanks to all the staff on duty who were so kind and courteous to us.

I had two 3 night stays on the jasmine ward, over past couple months, both times I received excellent care. I do however have to say that the poor nurses were under staffed & this can be a busy ward, it s not fair on the patients & definitely not fair on the nurses. This issue should be looked at, maybe pay those dam overpaid footballers less & give some to our wonderful NHS.

Have been in hospital several times over the last year and have had nothing but positive experiences, the staff on C3 and B6 are great! I felt well looked after at all times! The majority of staff work their back sides off with little or no thanks from other patients which I think is wrong I don't care how poorly you are thank you goes a long way! And the way in which some staff are spoken to by relatives and patients is disgusting! I have nothing but nice things to say about the time I have spent here and the hardworking staff that made it happen! Thank you! And hopefully won't see you again soon! X

Could provide clearer instructions/map of how to get the relevant department you need. Map providdd doesn't give department names only numbers and names of buildings and letter doesn't provide a number for map or name of building. Apart from this the care is great

Today I went to Stepping Hill hospital to have a Lumbar Spinal MRI and I must compliment the staff for their warm welcoming professional way in which they treated me. I got there full of fear for the unknown and they walked me through every step with kindness and compassion and even though I am so claustrophobic I managed to stay calm through their kindness. So I left feeling happier than when I had arrived. I really want to thank all the staff of Stepping Hill for putting the concerns of the patient first and making my experience a joyful one. I give the MRI department a well deserved five star rating.
Many thanks
Karen M. Reid

In AMU1 ward with partners elderley 78yr mother to...

In AMU1 ward with partners elderley 78yr mother today overnight. As we were worried about her frailty and communication skills, we opted to sit by her bedside overnight. Glad we did because despite the ward being quiet as most patients asleep:

-For 5 hours to nearly 4am, a nearby patients heart monitor alarm sounded and was ignored. Another patient cried in distress at the noise. At 3.30am I couldn't stand it anymore and asked the nurse to close the alarm, she said it was something she "couldn't close" then promptly did.

-His mother was vomiting all day and couldn't keep any food or water in. We were awaiting anti-sickness meds and saline, which only appeared at 1am after prompting the nurse.

-Whenever she was vomiting, eg at 2.20am nurse totally ignored this. We took care of it, cleaned her up and put the waste in the bin.

-Asked same nurse for toilet, took an age to bring the komode, likely as Yoga which is more interesting was on her computer screen. After an age, she left it with us and left saying she was busy with another patient. We let his mother finish off, clean up and put her back into bed. We then simply pushed the komode out of our cubicle area. Had we not been there, if she even got the komode, she would prob have been left sitting there or fallen trying to redress herself and return to her bed.

Im sure we were unlucky to have this nurse, however this is poor. Please raise your standards by managing your staff. Patients who are vulnerable deserve better than this.

I have seen pathology staff members who have long hair and they did not tie it back. This involved both male and female staff in the pathology reception area.

Even if some staff were students they should have their hair tied back. Safe laboratory practice and what not.

The A&E team were brilliant last night with my Mum. They looked after us, didn't leave us waiting unnecessarily at any point and got my mum into X Ray and then admitted to a ward with no hiccups or hassle. The Orthopaedic Surgeon who explained everything so calmly and clearly to us had just finished her seventh day in a row. I don't know how that is legal - for a job that important - but she was a superstar regardless.
My only slight criticism was that when we arrived (somewhat panicked) the A&E reception staff did lack a bit of compassion and efficiency.

I was referred to The Department of Maxillofacial ...

I was referred to The Department of Maxillofacial & Oral Surgery by my dentist for the extraction of a rear tooth. It took about 5 weeks for the department to contact me for an appointment - perfectly acceptable for this non-urgent procedure but after the initial consultation events moved quickly. On January 13th I was assessed by a Registrar who advised me of the procedure and I was then advised that I was on a 12 week waiting list. However a few days later I was contacted because an evening appointment on 20th January had become available so I attended the department for the extraction.

This was carried out by Dr N Jaffa, an Oral Surgeon who was supported by a very pleasant theatre team. Dr Jaffa explained the procedure and did everything possible to ensure that I was relaxed during the operation which was completed under a local anesthetic. The time I was in theatre was about 20 minutes and I didn't feel a thing. Everyone was friendly and I left feeling that I had received the best treatment possible.

Thanks to all concerned - it is very reassuring that Stepping Hill Hospital has so many skilled specialists.

I am so impressed with Stepping Hill Endoscopy unit. I was put on a 5 year review back in 2013, didn't expect to be followed up based on my experience of a different hospital but true to their word, the unit contacted me at the 5 year mark and arranged my follow up appointment swiftly - within a couple of weeks of sending me a reminder. Once in the unit, all staff were lovely and obviously cared about patient experience. Their professionalism and competence shone through which helped to reassure me that I was in safe hands and settle my nerves! Thank you Stepping Hill Endoscopy unit.

I was admitted to A&E after a fall on black ice resulted in me being unable to take any weight on my right leg. All the staff were kind and caring and I was very impressed with efficiency with which the department worked.

Although I was unable to walk I was not in pain or any danger, so I expected a very long wait. In fact I was in and out in 4 hours, just so impressed with what I experienced.

The NHS is a treasure we should be proud of and support to the best of our ability.

Foot and Ankle Clinic (Mr S Janipireddy)

Foot and Ankle Clinic (Mr S Janipireddy)
I was referred to the clinic by my GP after approx 17 months of treatment for an unknown /misdiagnosed problem
Mr Janipireddy was very comprehensive in his examination. The explaination of his diagnois and recommended further treatment was given in both technical and layman terms and he fully answered the questions I raised. Basically It was similar to attempting a jigsaw ,when suddenly all the pieces came together and slotted into place as opposed to trying to make the pieces fit.
Full marks all round to the Dept.

I attended Stepping Hill Hospital on Monday 21st May 2018 to have an epidural injection. I was on ward D5 and the whole experience from beginning to end was amazing. Clare and Julie the nurses on duty were lovely and friendly and just wanted to make sure that I was comfortable and completely aware of the procedure that I would be undergoing. Lee and Colin were really helpful at putting me at ease before and during the procedure. The staff in the theatre were lovely and friendly and again I was completely at ease in a very unfamiliar situation and surroundings. Mr. Sian who undertook the procedure was very efficient and thorough and I am hoping that this procedure will enable a full recovery from sciatica. I would tell anyone that the treatment I received was second to non and all the staff deserve to be highly commended on their dedication and professional yet friendly approach to all the patients they deal with. Thank you.

I had to say goodbye to my baby today who was unfortunately not going to make it through pregnancy. I cannot thank the delivery suite team enough for what they did. I was put in sandalwood suite so I had privacy and the staff who treated me were amazing! My midwife went above and beyond and treated me with care and dignity.
