It's fun to pratice in the gym playing basketball and playing games like hide and seek with friends and we make new friends day or two so I like the YMCA I'm even in the ymca doing this rn
Words cannot express how great this Y is. So many classes, plus childcare, swimming, fitness, basketball, and much more. It's incredible how embedded this Y is with the community and all that it has to offer.
THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF, THEY UPPED THE RACKET BALL AGE TO 15 AND TABLE TENNIS TO 18. WHICH LEFT ME WITH NOTHING TO DO. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE!!
I enjoy the YMCA and went to several in Madison regularly and have now been a member of the stevens point YMCA for a few years.
I use the wellness center regularly, sometimes take my nine year old to the kids room, and have signed him up for swimming as well as taking him to family swims Friday nights.
They also have community and other fun events for families.
My experience with the staff has always been positive.
the gym isn't well kept they let 5 year olds roam around with nothing to do except get in the way of me and my friends while we play basketball. i have at least 100 hours there just playing basketball i probably have 30 hours just waiting for the basketball court to be open. Now i cant even go in because my age.
5 stars for a pool party! We celebrated my son s 5th birthday and invited his 4K class - everyone loved it! Thank you for letting parents take children down the slide! Staff and lounge were amazing!
There was nothing to do because they upped the racket ball age to 15 due to TWO immature kids, which is stupidity...I would not suggest wasting your money on this place
This Y has some nice facilities such as the swimming pool, gym, youth center, racquetball courts and gymnastics. However, the staff are rude and do not make for a positive atmosphere. Many of them display negative attitudes. I used to have a membership here, but I no longer enjoy going here due to the negative atmosphere. Don't expect customers to continue to want to come here if you can't have the decency to be professional.
As a swimmer it can be difficult to get a lane at times but if you are willing to share a lane you will be fine. My main reason for even reviewing here is regarding the comments on the staff being rude. I have worked out here on and off for three years and have never had a single bad experience. I swim 6-8 miles a week so I spend quite a bit of time each work out and never not once have a seen a guard, desk workers, management, etc be anything but OVERLY polite and social..always smiling and helpful. My wife and son also use the exercise room near the adult locker rooms...again never once a bad experience. Don't believe everything you read. Sometimes you get treated as you treat others!
My family of four loves visiting this Y. They have a great drop in care for younger kids, so that I could work out when my kids were young. When they got too old for that there was a youth center, and a youth fitness center. It was perfect. The pool is beautiful and they have great early morning hours so that I can work out before work.
Of all the YMCA's that I have been involved with, I shall be cautious in returning to this one. Overall personality of staff is lacking vital soft skills as far as tone, compassion, concern, etc. While discussing this with an aquatics manager, my overall impression did not change as I was talked over, spoken down to, and left the conversation wondering why he bothered calling me in the first place to follow up on this concern. There seems to be an overall blanket assumption at this YMCA that care and compassion when dealing with people, families, and children is not necessary and may be caused from the management on down to the employee's. Whatever the issue is, it surely reflects poorly onto the well run YMCA's and to this wonderful community.
Not pleased at all with our experiences over the past couple of years. Cancelled membership. The negative experience is primarily related to impolite and disorganized staff
