Steves & Sons is the best place to shop for doors. I had a great experience purchasing multiple doors from Steves & Sons. All of the doors were great quality and super affordable. I will never shop anywhere else for a door!

This company sells through Home Depot "wooden" doors that are actually all MDF doors and keep maintaining that it is factually correct since the door is a "wood product"
I am very unhappy with the fact that you denied my claim on a door that I purchased thru Home Depot. It was stated from your rep that you will not cover as the door was not adequately painted! Your rep saw and commented that the door had been painted! I would like a an explanation on what you call adequate paint. This door is 2 years old and rotten out in the bottom and the sweep fell off. This is a metal door. I only replaced the original metal door as I wanted a window. That door was in perfect condition after 8 years on my house. I will make sure to let my friends on social media know that Steven s Doors do not honor their warranty and they have a inferior product!
Purchased a Steves and Sons entry door from home depot, which included a 9-light window and large doggie door. The design was sole reason for purchase.
Door arrived crated well, although the pallet was damaged and the door primer had a few knicks in it. It needs to be painted so no worries.
After installation, I was removing the plastic 9-light frame to paint. I removed the inside frame (as I've done numerous times on other doors/windows) and the glass panel just fell out and shattered! There were no retaining clips and the silicone (or whatever sticky stuff holds the glass to the outer frame) was just in a few spots.
I noticed the exterior frame only had silicone at the top and bottom, meaning water could seep in from the sides. The unsealed frame, and the glass not being sealed to the frame, are certainly product defects.
I emailed the company's warranty department twice. First email never got a response. Second one, they basically said I shouldn't have removed the pane so it was my fault the glass fell out. BS! Although my intent was to paint the door, I had to remove it to seal it properly due to their defect.
I sent an additional email but no response to that.
Update: I did get a response to subsequent emails, and after a few other emails, Steve's and Sons--while insisting their product was fine and my claim was denied--did make things right for me.
These people subcontract for Home Depot. They have messed up 3 times on an order of 4 doors. Wish I could charge for my time & mileage to/from HD for trips since initial order. HD find a new contractor please.
Terrible customer service!!! The lady on the phone kept telling me who I need to speak to, but wouldn't even let me speak to tell her what I was calling for. She was so rude! She ended the phone call by saying "you have to call back in maybe 15 min. Cause I don't know when they get there, just call back later" *click.
Negative star. They lie and they trick you specially Sal Guerra. Dont trust them taking a chance. There's way better jobs out there!! And another thing= i dont want to hear for me to contaxt HR. You guys had a chance. Why do you guys wait til afterwards. Listen to what people are saying, dont just respond!!
Don't waste your money. Steves French doors are cheaply made. When I try to close the doors they bind at the top. So, I am getting out my sandpaper to refit the door that should have been fitted at the factory.
Avoid this company if possible. I ordered basic UNFINISHED French doors online through Home Depot. The order was slated to arrive in three weeks. When I went to Home Depot to pick up the doors, they were the wrong model, a white tinted door. When I contacted Steve s from the HD store, the CSR first asked if we had inspected the doors to make sure they were the wrong model. Then, the CSR told me that it was Home Depot s responsibility for the mix-up. Never mind that I ordered them online with a SKU, and manufacturer model number. The CSR was entirely disinterested in understanding the problem or fixing it, ultimately saying that they would resend the correct doors but only after another 2 weeks, because they don t expedite orders. In the meantime, I have two holes in my walls where the French doors should have been installed today, and a company that could not care less about my time, the cost of the contractor that I m paying to reschedule, or my business. No offer for free shipping, reduction in price, etc.
They have rude supervisors, make u work more than 14 hours a day w 30 min lunch n if u leave after ur scheduled shift u get fired.u are allowed to go bak to wrk late after lunch only if you go out to eat with supervisors.
I will guarantee never to use you guys again and I will spread the word and comment on every review page how this company is a joke. Steves Doors can't stand behind there products. There products are garbage and won't even last a year without maintenance. Also, since the warranty is an absolute joke I would even agree to pay for repairs and Steves Doors still would not help. Steves Doors is definitely not a quality or a reliable company.
We special ordered a made to order barn door. Took a month to come in. There is no damage whatsoever to the cardboard packaging. Once we opened it and took off the plastic wrap, there are 3 holes in the door including a huge chunk ripped out about 6 inches in length and 3 inches in width. It had to have been there before it was packaged and was covered up. Awful quality and customer service for sending out a very obvious damaged door. Our house goes on the market in a week and they can't get us replacement for at least another month.
I am currently going through Home Depot in Garland Texas to order a door from Steve s & Son s. I have had to send this door back 4 times! I am not exaggerating... 4 TIMES! They do not know how to make the right measurements. I have checked with Home Depot and made sure that they are sending the right measurements, and 4 TIMES IN A ROW the measurements have been sent correctly and 4 TIMES IN A ROW they cannot get the measurements right. The quality of the doors here seem nice, but the people working for the company do not know how to make a correct measurement. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANYONE NEEDING A SPECIAL ORDER DOOR!!!!
This place is the worst,my mother worked as a scanner bit now they have her in the lines. They now want everyone to go in at 6 in the morning! And she doesn't get out till 7pm,when she first started working she would leave at 3,4 at the latest. She has 3 kids to take care of and now she can't spend enough time with them.not to mention she is under paid. They said if she can't go in at 6 in the morning to find an other job
So many great things about this company as well as a few things I would change but all in all I learned so much from this company. I really wished that I would have made the most out of this experience but didnt so with that being said. I wish this company the best and hope those changes I was speaking of will be made soon for future employees. Starting at the top. Thanks so much for the experience.
Horrible- Only word to describe the service we received from Maurio. Door arrived, and was damaged, had to jump through hoops to get a replacement part and Maurio promised he would make arrangements to have it fixed. Waited almost 3 weeks and emailed Maurio, he said would check on it, and never did. Called the next day and he was full of excuses about time off etc etc. Gave him the choice to make it right or send it back- He told me to send the door back. So we did . We went out or way to use an American Made door from Home depot (which we shared this experience with their corporate office) and Steves Door, Maurio failed.
I've worked at Steve's & Sons for 6 years and have managed to move up in the company, they have given me great opportunities and have help me to advance in my career. They offer good benefits and 401k along with weekly attendance and referral bonuses. This is a good company to work.
Gave me a job starting at 10$ a hr. lady's at front desk were so nice GO APPLY! Great second chance company for felonies. Drug Test Rqd. Can't wait to start tomorrow scheduled from. 5 -1 or 3 they said. REALLY WANT TO LEARN FORKLIFT WILL UPDATE:)
Horrible place to work! To many supervisors and not enough workers. They lie about benifits. Do not work here!!! After working my but off for company showing up on time daily! After 4 months i was still waiting my medical insurance i sighned up for the day i was hired. Turns out the human resources lady did not turn in my medical insurance on time so i was left with no medical benefits after completing 120 days!! Omg they left me very disappointed and my supervisor "moe" and especially the plant manager "Eva" never ever tried to help or even care. I feel the owner of this place should go undercover to see how poorly the supervisors are doing in the "crest plant in Lay up department. I am a great worker and unfortunately this company looses alot of good workers like me due to lack of proper procedures and lack of "moral" in the plant. Bad energy environment. Prolly the WORST company i have ever worked for!!! I hope the owner reads this and seriously looks into what happened to me and im sure many others
Terrible customer service... the MOst rude phone service ever. I m a local contractor and these people insist that I do business through HDepot HDepot is incapable of the simplest task of a custom order !! So much business down the drain !!
This place called me to set a interview but when i asked what the pay for a forklift operator they want to start a operators $10-$11hr. Way to low the average pay to start is $14.50hr not $10 or $11hr. I never worked as a forklift operator for that low of pay i was at $18.50 previous employer, they need to pay for experience i have 13years plus. This company Slaving operators for low pay. Well never work for them...
This is the worst company to work for!!!! First the job is extremely hard and unsafely many peoples get hurt very often because management forcing one person to finish a job that requires 3 peoples, there No AC or Heater inside and so uncomfortable to perform the job, Also quality control is very poor and the doors leaving the warehouse in bad conditions... the pay is way to low for the type of hard labor!! Why because the company hire anyone, for example someone gets out from prison today with 10 felonies and the same day the company hire them on the spot!! It s a bad Environment , workers stolen others lunch and there is always an argument
I currently am employed by Steves and Sons. I am a Framer, which means,"I frame doors." The Supervisors, and staff there expect, and require quality workmanship from all their employees. And, I believe it is produced. I recommend their doors, no matter what your preference may be. "We can do that!".
Steve's and Sons should not be in business. They obviously do not care about the quality of their doors, because mine arrived with a very obvious defect. After having to deal with their nitwit CS Dept for two weeks, finally was transferred to the king of idiots Maurio. He promised the issue would be fixed, right away! 3 weeks later .....nothing. Had to call him again and here came the excuses, one after the other. Enough was enough we returned the door after 6 weeks and bought a new one. Even left a message for Floyd to discuss the issue, but to know ones surprise never called back. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT ORDER,BUY OR DEAL WITH STEVE AND SONS. Follow up: Comment was to contact CS?? Obviously whoever sent that never did read my comments. Why would I ever reach out to you guys? Seriously, you have my number, let's see if you have the guts to contact me
Every single time we order a door from Steve & Sons we have massive issues. Doors that arrive weeks late and then damaged, unwillingness to rush a replacement door, simple unwillingness to provide anything resembling customer service. Plan on their estimated ship date to be off by at least several weeks. They will ALWAYS be late in our experience. WEEKS late. Sure, when it doesn't arrive damaged, its a decent product, but there are PLENTY of other great door companies out there that produce as good or better products with better customer service and reliability.
My son worked for them when he was hit by a drunk driver. Managers told him to sign a letter stating that he was giving his two week notice so he can be eligible for rehire. After physical therapy n recovery my son reapplied at Steves & Sons believing he was eligible for rehire. He was then told by the office staff that their records stated he walked out w out notice n was not eligible for rehire due to being fired. That the system can not be changed. He was manipulated n lied to.
