Steigenberger Al Dau Beach Hotel Review

First of all i would like to thank you very much for your professional team for accommodating me and my family during our stay
- your staff were very cheerful
- your team have handled covid-19 precautions professionally
- Food was perfect
- Animation team were very helpful and cheerful
- Kids animation team were very nice to our 3 years old daughter
- Every day show at Dinner were amazing

we checked in Saturday 26th of September and we checked out Friday 2nd of October 2020

The only bad thing that ruined our stay was an egyptian family who were harassing my wife with our 2 daughters in the pool where you grab a swim ring and relax on it as water flows back to the same point

A teenager boy who is a member of this family was harassing my wife and taking all the swim rings from in-front of her and since she was alone with the kids she could not do anything

I just knew from my wife when we arrived because if i knew when we were there i would have made a fight with that this ill-mannered teenager

I understand that you can not screen impolite people like these especially if they have money

Unfortunately in Egypt being rich in Egypt is not an indication for good manners of people but please what is possible to prevent such attitudes from Egyptian guests

A very nice hotel, I felt very comfortable there (with 2 small children), it is clean big, everywhere you have the opportunity to eat and drink, whether pool or beach, do not worry about the food and drink, the Hotel crew always ask for water or cocktails, very handy if you have kids.
Actually, all you have to do is bring your swimming trunks and filp flops, the hotel does everything else for you.

and much more, could not do everything in 4 days

All in all a top hotel! Super All Inclusive There is nothing to complain about. Great rooms with sufficient size and sea views. Daily filled bar and pleasant cleaning of the rooms. Pool Restaurant and Beach Restaurant with great food!

Have been there 3 times. Every time it was a very nice stay. The food is great, the service excellent. In addition, the rooms are nice and the area was very clean. The pool area is also great, as is the beach. I can only recommend!

Great hotel !!! Rest again! The beach is smooth, sandy, the food is gorgeous, the animation is exciting !!! Recommended to everyone. The number should not be taken below the deluxe level !!! Superior and standard are bad.

It was a very comfortable stay and kind hospitality, the staff was very nice and professional.

The Steigenberger ALDAU is a very large complex with a huge pool area, private sandy beach and its own pier for diving boats from the hotel diving school.
We had a deluxe double room with sea view on the second floor at the end of the complex. Very large room with lots of storage space. The cot was already set up on arrival. Room was very clean. Check-in friendly and personal, all information explained in good German.
The pool is very large and has a lot of chairs and umbrellas. The mass is distributed very well. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who reserve their loungers very early and only show up at the pool at 11am. As a result, the best seats are always gone. This also applies to the beach. There is practically never a free lounger in the first row.
Also on the very long beach there were a lot of wind / privacy-protected loungers and lots of sun protection.
Bar staff is constantly on the move and brings you what you want.
For eating and drinking. Luxury all inclusive. You can eat and drink almost around the clock. The lobby bar is really open 24/7.
Unfortunately, the house wines, which are part of the all-inclusive. The offer are not really to be enjoyed. A la carte you can order better quality, which of course has to be paid extra. The cocktails are all OK, the best for us was the Tequila Sunrise.
The main restaurant Tamarind (buffet) is very large and has a good range of local and international dishes. There were never long lines or crowds. For a buffet restaurant there was a pleasant calm. Live cooking there was two omlette / fried egg cooks in the morning and pasta to put together yourself at lunch and dinner. There was grilled food on the terrace. Everything was always very good quality and tasted ok. Minuses for the roast. On different evenings there was roast lamb, roast veal, turkey or tuna. Unfortunately, they were all terribly dry and hard. The cook could hardly cut the roast veal, it was so hard. The roast beef, however, was great.
The a la carte restaurants.
Bwala pool. The burgers at the pool bar were very tasty. Unfortunately, we didn't make it here in the evening. Kitchen currently Lebanese because Tanga Beach has the Alexander's menu (closed due to renovation).
Tanga Beach. Only stopped in for drinks after the beach. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the meal because it was extremely windy on the evening where we had reserved and we canceled. At Tanga Beach we unfortunately had our only negative experience with unfriendly service. The bar closes at 5:00 p.m., so we were always there punctually at 4:45 p.m. to get something. It worked three times without any problems, but once we were ignored for a long time, even though we had sat down quite close to the bar. When I went to the bar at 16:55 I was told that it was too late and that it was already closed. When I pointed out that it was only 4:55 pm, I was told my watch was broken and I was left standing. It must have been a tough day.
Conclusion, great vacation, lots of sun, good food, 99.9% friendly service.
Tips: get up early to reserve a good spot by the pool / beach. Turkish coffee in the lobby. Avoid the roast.

Plus of the hotel:
-Very nice employees (as long as you tip)
-A lot of delicious food
-Many ways to talk
-Safety feeling on the property

Minus of the hotel:
-Unfortunately, we had stomach problems :-( the cost for one treatment, per person in the hotel's own clinic is 290
- Every morning from around 8 a.m., chairs and tables are pushed into the neighboring room (by the cleaning staff) so that getting up early is made easy ;-)
- At the beach or in the restaurant, the employees are set so that they want to have their tips every time. Otherwise, if you don't give one, you have to wait longer for the condition and the service is no longer so friendly.
- The beach is not as clean as expected. My guess, through many ships that sail along the coast, you can see black tracks on the beach.
- Unfortunately it doesn't have its own house reef

Compared to Makady Beach, I would prefer the Makady.

Nice hotel with a very nice pool area and gardens. Everything is carefully maintained, clean and tidy. If you are looking for a holiday for a higher standard, you will not be disappointed here. The food is good, the rooms are rather good Egyptian standards. We would love to come back.

The best hotel we have ever stayed in Here every wish is fulfilled, it is worth every penny.

Wonderful place to relax just don't forget the DND sign so you are not disturbed whilst sunbathing for massages, sunglasses cleaning, or excursions.

A super all inclusive hotel with a gigantic pool area. We love the lazy river. Nice rooms, good food.

Lovely hotel. Rooms large a beautifully furnished, and spotlessly clean. But the staff made our holiday. So attentive with nothing too much trouble for them. Excellent food and drink! Especially drink!!

Very nice and well-kept hotel, very good service. Unfortunately another Steigenberger hotel was built next door, which is a party hotel for adults. As a result, an incredibly loud sound, the peace is no longer given

We ve spent two vacations in 2017 in this hotel and were absolutely happy there. One of most impressive hotels in Hurghada. Highly recommended for families.

Simply a wonderful piece of earth in this world. You won't be disappointed here.
The kitchen is just wonderful and is run by a German chef. The facility and the rooms are more than just well-kept - they work with love. The staff will ask you every day how you are during your stay and will immediately look for a solution to any concerns - you get the feeling of being the only guest in this huge hotel :)

2. Dream island & snorkeling
3. Safari & Quad ride in the desert & Bedouin village visit with camel ride.
Those who don't get their money's worth here are doing something wrong ...

Pleasant resort, a highlight on the Red Sea, the always good kitchen has unfortunately diminished

Nice hotel with a service that is hard to beat. Food was very varied, waiters, reception, guest service (Alessa!), All totally friendly and courteous. The equipment is a bit old (wobble hooks, TV buzzes, carpets stuck ...) and that the huge, beautifully designed pool is practically unusable in winter, because it is simply too cold (unheated), diminishing the otherwise perfect impression.

No words can describe the beauty of this place , every thing was perfect, absolutely I will come back here again

The food is really great, both the buffet in the main restaurant and the dishes from the teppanyaki grill and the restaurant "Alex". A compliment to the team from Alex and Teppanyaki Grill, you really provide good service and the show from your cook Ahmed is really great.

We are with you for the second time and feel very well looked after. All employees are very nice and read our wishes from our eyes before we can express them, as attentively as they are. In particular Mohammed, who spoiled us on the beach for the last few days, and Abanoub, who already had our room number and what we could drink on the second day.

And of course the beautiful, well-kept hotel complex with the sea in front of you rounds it off. It is a vacation that simply invites you to relax and for which we are really very grateful.

Great hotel. Excellent laundry service. Kind staff. Multiple restaurants to choose from, incl some show cooking restaurants. Dive centre close to the hotel, offering more than basic dive lesson. Aqua sport centre located on the private beach. Huge central pool.
Sometimes bit German style, then again it is a Steigenberger. Free access to the aqua park across the street. Shopping is better in the city the street nearby is a bit creapy.

A great hotel with everything you could wish for. Only the electronic music at the food or breakfast bothered a lot!

Diving center has professional team, good boats and good equipment. Everything you need for a good diving holiday!

Not recommended during Easter break it was crowded and the food variety was limited, was not clean as a 5 star hotel should be, it is better during other times of the year

Magnificent ! A deserved 5 stars! The staff is very caring Food is varied Japanese restaurants, suchis, Lebanese are excellent. The rooms are super equipped with excellent bedding Fantastic pools only small downside the water level at the beach is quite low. But that's the only downside and again because the beach is very nice with only adult zone and more!

Their food diversity is not as great pre covid. But still a great hotel. Good for family. Do not forget to try the lazy river! Repeat guests get 15% discount and free minibar. Their shows at night are sometimes worth watching.

It is very nice and you are fully spoiled the food is great but unfortunately it is almost always the same and the water in the pool is dirty therefore only three stars.
