I love the combination of bookstore and cafeteria. Perfect for breakfast (snacks, pastries or cakes), spend the morning reading or go to work with the laptop because they have Wi-Fi. They have many tables in different environments spread over the upper floor and an indoor covered terrace. At the bottom is the library.

Laie Bookstore is a benchmark in Barcelona. It also has a Cafeteria / Restaurant on the first floor with a weekly menu of good quality and a cake counter for snacks. It also has an interior patio that is very pleasant in spring and summer especially.

I have a weakness for cafes in bookshops. Laie is a great place to visit solo if you need to get some work done, or to enjoy some quality time with friends. Along with having great coffee and food, there is also a beautiful terrace, lovely dining room and a quiet area where you can just sit and marvel at the stacks of books (my personk favourite).

Fabulous bookstore especially because you can explore it with ease, and there is a scanner to check the prices of the copies. And sooner or later enjoy coffee.

They don't have books on psychology or finance ... I don't understand how the best bookstore in Barcelona is supposed to be. Half an hour made me come here and they have the basics.

Nice and original place to eat located in Via Laietana, below Plaza Catalunya.
It is very original in terms of decoration, since it is a bookstore and workplace and the restaurant is located above. The menus are affordable and very good. A good option to eat if you do not want to fall in the tourist restaurants that are in the surroundings!
