Visited the Vernon ave location. Service and food were excellent!

Great as always since we don't have any in Wisconsin

This location has really gone down in quality. I ordered a banana shake at the drive thru and received a vanilla. The next day we waited 30 minutes for a shake. The manager ignored the people in line and rolled his eyes when we inquired about our order. The milkshake was runny and inedible. I will no longer eat at this location.

I love steak n shake this is the first time of eating in at this location and it will be the last. Food on the floor that has not been swept up they are leaving the tables dirty with bits of food on them not wipes down untill someone wants to sit there. Food did come out nice and fast and was fine. I was just very disappointed with how it was being kept on a Sunday afternoon I get it was a bit busy I just don't enjoy how dirty it was . going to keep to the other steak shakes around town

Terrible. Waited 5 minutes with no service. Got up and left.

Food is always good and affordable. This restaurant building inside is pretty dirty and run down. Needs a cleaning crew and handyman service to spend a few weeks.
Staff is much friendlier, & helpful compared to the steak 'n shake by farm & fleet; steak 'n shake by heartland community college (this one by college is worst service I've ever had)

Horrible night staff. They re rude and off task 90% of the time. The food is never fully cooked and never ready on time. So let down by my experience with them.

It was terrible there's a bald-headed waiter in there that was very loud and call somebody an idiot

The atmosphere is always fun. The steakburgers are great and they have the best fries.

Great stop for inexpensive tasty burgers. Love the guacamole burger.

Great coffee. Not burned or bitter. Nice eggs and bacon. Very limited carb alternatives.

This Steak 'n Shake is always efficient & their employees are always very friendly & courteous.

Good diner food. Slow service, but their signs literally say they re slow for a reason. As for fast food they ve never gotten my order wrong which is amazing since no other restaurant can say that.

Great servers. Food came pretty quickly and quality is worth the money.

Every time I go here, the food is cold, stale, and old or they mess up the order. Don't go here.

Only been there twice and each time my order was incorrect. I was too far away to return so i was stuck with it, maybe the food was good but i didn't even eat it because that's not what i had a taste for. I will not try it a third time.

Love Steak n shake. But I do not like Thier Chilli 5 ways. So many kidney beans it. Did not have meat in it. If there was meat is was so small I did not taste it. Sauce was good but did not get full because I do not eat beans, I aways eat around them but this had a whole can. Ask the waitress.

Was greeted friendly. The server was very friendly, the food came in a timely matter and the food was still hot still hot. Had a wonderful meal with my wife and now we're headed for home.

Drive thru 3:38pm soooo slow. If an order is not ready they should have them pull into parking spot so other orders can be delivered.

Sns is best fast food you could go for in my opinion.

Place wasnt busy but we were t otally ignred not seated plus had to listen to waitress having a meltdown so after 15 mins left

Great place for a quick bite! Walked and walked out fast! The manager on staff was very friendly and helpful!

Last time I went the fries was a little cold and I didn't get my milk shake till we was getting ready to leave. It was the first thing I ordered

I guess I have to give them one star to be able to write what a terrible experience this location is. Our server was obviously on something she was completely spaced out. after we sat there for 10 minutes wondering if we should just get up and leave, she came over and took our order for drinks three water then we waited another 10 minutes for our Water while I watched her wipe down menus and wander aimlessly through the dining room then came back and said oh I'm sorry what did you guys want to drink. When we finally received our order my chili that always comes before the entrees wasn't there and I had to remind her about that and my wife's plate had old cheese from a previous order still stuck to it and a big fingerprint on it. Told her I wanted another burger for my wife so they just sent back the same Burger and tried to wipe the old cheese off the plate disgusting. My food was ice cold by the time I got to it after they finally brought my bowl of chili. I will credit the manager she comped our order, was very helpful, and attentive when we brought it to her attention, but we won't ever be back to that location again as I've noticed another waitress on our previous visit she wasn't our waitress, but she was also high on something too, it was obvious.

Both drive thru experiences. I've stopped by during a rush hour and my order was perfect. I've stopped by at 2:30a.m. for a quick food and only thing right was my fries, almost forgot my drink as well.

Love this place..the food is really good and inexpensive

Classic great American food served by a world class staff.

I waited in the drive through for 15 min and when we got our food it was warm not hot.

Most food very good except their thin tasteless bacon! Please find a better bacon brand!! Milkshakes are delicious

Steak and Shake has consistent food and great shakes. We arrived around 8:00 PM. The service on this visit was slow, and the restaurant was full of loud, rowdy teenagers. The experience is probably better earlier in the day.

Our lunch was excellent. We had very friendly waiters and fast service. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Long wait is typical at this location. Better check your food before leaving as it's usually messed up. They go through a lot of employees here as well as each time it seems their training someone new in drive through.

Stopped here on the way home Thanksgiving night. Very crowded, but excellent service and burgers.

Great service today. Friendly and attentive waitress, and the food was cooked exactly the way we asked. Everything was delicious, better than previous visits to the location that closed last year.

Three of us ate for $20 and we were full! Burgers, fries, bean crock, a cookie and a shake. Can feed the kids cheap and they are happy!

WONDERFUL place great Chicago style Hot Dogs plus many other delights. Speedy service good food, Win Win.

GREAT SERVICE! GREAT FOOD! this is by far one of my favorite restaraunts. There food taste great and so are they're prices. Emoloyees have great attitudes and know how to treat customers. They're milkshakes are the best thing since shoe strings!!!

Love this place. Always seem to go when it's busy. But still fast and friendly service

Good food.... But understaffed!!!!! No hostess yo seat people. Nobody designated to clean tables. Nobody designated at the cash register. Servers are running around trying to do it all.

I have walked out of this place several times because the service is so slow.

We enjoy the good burgers when we travel through the area.

Had to wait in the drive thru for at least 20 minutes Had a large order they stuffed at all on one bag the chili Macs Was very liquidy Which caused the bag to rip and spelled out lost fries And the food was cold and then it tasted bad even after we heated it up Even though we were only in the vehicle for about 10 minutes it should not have gotten cold in 10 minutes was one of the worst experiences that I've ever had at that steak and shake

Great, inexpensive American food. Tasty burgers and even better shakes!
