Steak n Shake Review

I found it disturbing having a cook with shoulder length hair and no hair net cooking our food. When we addressed it to the manager he stated that as long as he had a hat on it was sanitary?

The 4 for 4 deal us the best deal in the quick service industry. It was awesome and a great deal.

Open 24 hours. Really speedy service. They made my dog a plain steakburger, which she loved. Can't beat Steak 'n Shake's burgers and shakes. Fries aren't good, though.

Horrible service... waitress was so rude to my family and I. Rolled her eyes at us multiple times. Kids asked for crayons and she was like you will have to wait I have other tables to tend to 1st. Asked for extra napkins and she threw them down and walked away. Will never go back. You can't be rude to your customers and expect a big tip

The food was good. We could see the cook working he was constantly busy, cooking and cleaning and telling the other staff when their food was up so it was delivered hot and fresh. The waitstaff stood around talking for majority of our visit and the female manager that was there cursed more then once while speaking to another employee. All in ear shot of a couple young children. One of them being my own, who said very loudly that that lady said a bad word. If you go here good luck, but I would go somewhere else. The bandanas bbq and Bob Evan's both have amazing staff I recommend you go to one of those instead.

Had to repeat my order in the drive through 3 times, repeated it back wrong several times. I said sandwhich only, they asked if I wanted fries with that. I asked for everything but mustard on my sandwhich and got cheese only. Lady at drive through rolled her eyes when I asked her if they could fix it.

Steak n Shake on Vernon, go here often, they do a great job. Usually busy, expect line with wait time at drive-thru. Those Steakburgers though. Unmatched meat quality and flavor. A Midwest jewel.

1st and only time coming to this steak n shake. It was a bad experience for me. Obscenely long wait times in the drive thru. I understand cooked to order but I spent my entire lunch break in that drive thru and didn't even get what I ordered. I love the steak n shake where I live but I was out of town for work and it was nearby my job. The server at the order screen was rude. She kind of just shoved the food at me and when I finally left and grabbed my sandwich is was not the one I ordered and the bun was so wet that it was falling apart. Definitely wouldn't go back there if I ever did go back that way.

Much better than your average Steak and Shake. I love the affordability of this menu!
This place seems to be packed all the time! Perhaps this is a downside as you can sometimes experience longer wait times.

No service sat for 20 minutes wanting to order to go back to McDonalds I go

Our servant was very friendly and professional. . Dont know his name. He was bald headed probably late 40s early 50s, unussual personality in a good way. Food was great. Pickles snapped, lettuce was crisp and onions had crunch. Meat was well cooked and tastefull. Everything you expect from a burger. Food for 2 grown ups and a toddler only $19.01 including a $5 dollar tip. I would had given more if i wasn't on a butget.

Great place to take children! Their breakfast skillets are really good as well.

We were seated quickly since there was hardly half the dining room filled. However, we proceeded to wait without even a drink order for over fifteen minutes. All the while, our waitress was two tables over talking about her recent Facebook posts and upcoming 40th birthday party. The staff didn't seem to even notice as we packed up our things and left. If you are looking to dine at steak'n shake in Normal, we recommend you go to a different location.

This steak and shake is the best around. Food always good and fresh. Waitress and waiters are friendly . The prices are very low.

You can never go wrong with this place. Classic, American, burger and fry place. Good quality food with good prices as well. Drove through can be pretty slow but you can eat in or pick up inside as well. Cool cardboard cars and hats for the kids.

Food was Ok, all family had got sick & didn't feel well.

Waitress very nice & kids got several things 2 color or assemble. Kid size drinks.

Took too long for our bill! Restaurant wasn't even busy. Staff just chatting amongst themselves.

They wouldn't even give us the food we ordered and then we had to pay extra for something the waiter said was free.

Wait for 15 minutes...no one would take my order. The lady cooking burgers just ignored me the whole time. None of my business.

The service was excellent, we didn't have to wait long for our meal, and the 3 Way Chile was awesome.

Just would like to say I was very impressed today by this location. We had a very large order for 6+ people for pick up . I was a little reluctant to have so many orders for a pick up order due to bad past experience at this location . Old manager was rude , order got lost, food was cold . But new management is amazing order was correct , food was hot , and done in a great amount of time .

They're bathrooms and dining room isn't open. The food was fresh and pretty good.

I sat at the counter because ALL the tables were occupied. Have not seen this restaurant as busy as it was today in years. I had good service from a friendly waitress. Food arrived quickly and was tastey. I was there about 1:30 p.m. Food and service rated above average.

try the classic options... orange freeze and double cheeseburgers

They have a damn good burger for a fast food joint. Fries are best eaten immediately as the container they come in makes them a soft delicious mess in no time.

The food was good and the service was alright for being the first time I ever went would try again

Their prices are so reasonable that I always tip decently.

Its been a few times of using the app and it is more convenient and very easy to use

I love Steak and Shake been eating in them for 76 years hot and fresh food. Prices are good. $4 menu milk shakes large and tasty

shake is an odd thing to have with my steak sandwich wish i skipped the shake but other than that. like

I have never had a bad meal or service at any Steak and Shake.

Fresh burgers made to order with great sides. My favorite meals are the pasta based ones! Very flavorful and filling!

Went thru drive up window and was greeted very pleasantly and the order came very fast better than the one in Normal

Great food and shakes but drive-thru is one of the worst in town. They are only about 50% accurate with getting the orders right the past few times we've visited.
