HUGE lines with people wanting to order from the original Starbucks. Do yourself a favor, go to one of the other Starbucks two blocks away, get a coffee and cone back to pose for your photos in front of this place.

The world's first Starbucks, a long team, is very suitable for buying some Starbucks cups here to send people, after entering, there will be a waiter to give you a brochure to tell you the unique cup here, the must-see for the cup lovers

It's more of a tourist destination than to go for coffee, and it's too crowded to buy tumblers, mugs, or it's too crowded. If you go early according to the open time, you can buy a comfortable tumbler while drinking a cup of coffee.

The original Starbucks, however the only thing differentiating it from its other locations is the bunting and signs. Guaranteed to be packed out, so if you're just after a cup of coffee probably best to try somewhere else.

If there is one place in Seattle that you got to v...

If there is one place in Seattle that you got to visit, it should be this Starbucks location. It is like the Mecca of coffee, the birth place of Starbucks, the place where it all started. We went there on a Sunday evening around 6.30 PM and had to wait in a long line to even get in the store. Once you get to the store, you can see people trying out all the special cups/containers etc. for sale specially at this location. This place also has a special Pikes Place Roast that you wont be able to find anywhere else. Once you are in the peer pressure is so high that you eventually end up buying flasks, etc even if you dont need it!

The location isnt that big but the good thing is they have kept it as is with just minor interior improvements. This place is also by the beach so the views outside are pretty amazing. Parking is going to be a bit difficult so either park a few blocks away or go in the evenings.

Great Experience! The staff was friendly and well informed. The coffee was good, and the place was very nice considering the age. This is where the greatest coffee empire in the world started. Behind the barista station on the wall is a note from the former CEO of the company that reads:

"This is where it all began. My Dream to build a company that fosters respect and dignity! and create a place where we can ALL come together over a coup of coffee.

Onward with love

Howard"

Original Starbucks in Seattle. Long line. Long wait for something you could get faster around the corner. Coffee bean pig and plaque and old sign. I guess I just don"t get it. I like Peet's coffee better anyway, darker roasts, more choices. They spawned from the same 3 guys who disagreed about Italian espresso bars (stand up counters). Interesting history.

Hands down the worst star bucks experience of my life. Honestly, I wouldn t go back to this location. I observed 2 of the workers being extremely rude very ignorant to the customers. I d expect more from this place, especially with the volume of people since it s the first store. They need to spend more time educating their staff on customer service.

I'm giving this place 3 stars, only because it's the very first Starbucks and it's historic and interesting looking, otherwise I think Starbucks new loyalty reward program has become very lousy. Before you could buy 12 or 15 items of any kind (doesn't matter what the price is), and then you could get your free reward. Now they changed the program so you have to get 125 stars to get your free reward, and I believe every dollar you spend gets you 2 stars, so you have to spend an awful lot more to get your free reward. They should at least lower it to 100 or 115 stars (instead of 125), because customers would still be spending more money to get the free reward than they would have in the old program, but not such a ridiculously high amount. I also believe that most items are a bit overpriced in general...!

when I came here on sunday it was almost impossible to get in - the line was so long that the waiting time was around 30minutes. I came back on some random tuesday afternoon, it was almost empty, so that was good, however when I went in - it was just a regular starbucks. I expected a little bit more, but to be honest - what else do we need besides a normal cup of coffee? also, the variety of gifts (e.g. mugs) was really small, too bad. I bought this souvenir cup (made in china for a dollar) for 17 bucks though, so shame on me :( it s not a place you *have* to visit once in your lifetime, but if you re around and there s no line - why not, you can step in for a second.

Starbucks started here! You must visit teast pike blended coffee. There are long waiting lines but it is worthy. Also every step is very kind and gentle and enegetic!
Starbucks first store. I can buy a pike blend coffee bean and it costs about $ 11. It is a long line but it is a place where you can make memories.
There are many attractions such as the nearby market park, and it is a good place for a half day sightseeing course.

The first Starbuck, which is located in Pike Place Market, Seattle, attracts crowd of visitors each day. Look carefully, you will discover the Starbuck logo here is different from all other Starbuck stores.

Well, a very popular place to visit :) Just to warn you it is small. You can have coffee, but they have no chairs to sit on. But they have lots of nice souvenirs. On certain days, there may be a very long queue of visitors.

It's really small, often like a coffee shop in our market.
Rather than trying to feel the vibe of Starbucks 1 while drinking coffee, this is the 1st shop.

The day I went was really crowdless, and the staff were friendly and I felt the old cafe feel good.

This is the closest Starbucks to my work! I agree, the wait can be a bit long in the morning, so I try to mobile order most of the time.
The baristas are nice and efficient. Nothing over the top. My drinks always taste great too. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the neighborhood.

What a disappointment! The only reason I am giving this rating a 3 stars is because of the people that worked there. They were friendly and nice to talk to while we waited for our disgusting coffee. I have Starbucks coffee usually 3-5 times a week and this tasted nothing like what I normally get. Huge waste of time and money. Don't waste your time unless you are wanting to chat it up with the locals.

If you like to wait in a line at least one hour, this is the place to go. Funny part is, nothing is special, i mean they serve the same coffee as any other starbucks and there is a big one just 200m away from this one. So yeah, if you want to wait just to take pictures it's ok, but if you wait for coffee then it's pointless.

A great place to "visit", to experience the first retail store. Wouldn't recommend if you want some peace or quick coffee. There is always a queue to get in and wait could be very long. Prefer the Starbucks Reserve on Pike for a real coffee tasting experience.

This is the world's first Starbucks and they have kept to the original idea. Looks different from the other regular Starbucks cafes. It is more a tourist attraction with coffee being made on the side. You can definitely chat more with the baristas and figure out what you want.

The service is slower. Don't know if that is on purpose to give you time to watch them at work or unintentional. But I've never had to wait about 7 minutes for a tall coffee. Everyone is very sweet to talk to.

There are souvenirs that actually look very cool. Good experience and is a must stop. The coffee is just the same though :)

As the original, a company dedicated to consistency, the coffee shop does not disappoint, but if you have had Starbucks anywhere else than you have had what they provide. Still fun to see where it all started, don't go during peak hours. To avoid a very long line.

Very disappointed with them, my daughter got a mug when she was on a school trip and it broke, they won't ship me another one, they only sell their product in store. Can't take the time to send me one, we live in North Dakota, so much for her favorite mug!
