Not the Service that I would expect coming from a St Regis Hotel. The concierge was no help while planning the day trips or even hailing cabs. This hotel is beautiful but has a lot to learn as a leading brand in the service industry !

The St. Regis Shanghai Jingan is the best St. Regis properties I ve had the pleasure of experiencing. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the butler team goes above and beyond. Morning wake-up calls with espresso in hand, an expansive breakfast buffet, and some of the best views in Shanghai are all here! At only two years old, the hotel itself is virtually brand new and it shows in all the right ways.

My 4th stay at this hotel. My room service was served on a tray with the plate of food, a cocktail napkin chopsticks and a spoon, nothing else. I thought I was staying at St. Regis, not the Holiday Inn!

Maybe there is an event today, the wait at the check in is a bit long today.

The hotel location is really convenient, easy access to everything, shopping mall, restaurant etc.

The Covid control measure is pretty good. You need to have a temperature check and show the QR code upon getting in the hotel.

I hate to say this but this is my worst St Regis experience.

The check in was totally a mess as everybody had to wait for at least half an hour. No drinks or towels were provide. No desk for platinum member. There were about 4 staff walking around the lobby but none of them is helpful. I thought St Regis is famous for their butler service.

At last after I complained to their manager. They took me to the lounge to check in. It turned out that there were TWO more counters at the lounge and NO guest there.

The room is ok and the view is really nice. But with this kind of service, I don't think I will come back again.

Everything about this hotel screams "look at me! I'm expensive!" If you like this, then cool. Else, be prepared for staff that are generally helpful but cannot communicate in English.

Service staff at The Social are particularly good at ignoring non-Caucasian guests. The Japanese restaurant on the 2nd floor gets 5 stars for great food and service. The Chinese restaurant is good too. But the service, again.... Sigh.

The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. Electric sockets on both sides. 2 prong sockets. Nespresso machine in the room. During my stay, all the pods were decaf as they ran out of other types. Double sigh.

Bathroom is spacious, again. Why not? Two sinks and luxurious looking toiletries. However, liquid body soap contains microbeads! Do they still produce stuff with microbeads? I'll go Google.

Talking about Google. Internet... Not the hotel's issue of course. In this hotel, in Shanghai, Google is blocked. WhatsApp is blocked, YouTube is blocked. Yahoo is fine. Haha. Outlook and Bing also. Jeebus.

I'm back in civilisation posting this. Also will be going back to Shanghai in a couple of months.

Send help!

The official website is difficult to use outrageously. There is no room type information. The photo album is like a social networking site. It is so difficult to use. It is such a difficult website that people simply don't want to stay. Where can the service be? The websites that college students have made are more logical than this.

The new interior also feels good. The station area is also useful. The heated toilet is a valuable hotel in Shanghai. Improvements such as cleaning check function enhancement, breakfast guidance (the table is assigned to other guests when returning to the seat) may be necessary.

I don't want to eat too much on the road for a walk. I am so excited to see a yogurt. I walked in and I also sold cooked food. The two models of yogurt are a kind of tube type. It is a good place to choose dinner at night: )

There simply was not a single thing that was done right during our stay. The senior management needs to train their staff and hire people that have experience. I don't think anyone working here is older than 25 or 30 and they have not idea what they are doing.

Finally lived in Shanghai's first St. Regis hotel, opened last year.

As soon as I walked into St. Regis, I could smell the familiar perfume. The counter gave me 61 floors, facing the natural scenery of the museum and the Huangpu River in the distance.

The four St. Regis who lived in Shenzhen, the mystery of Shenzhen, the elegance of Osaka, the atmosphere of Shanghai, and the elegance of Chengdu are all memorable.

The hotel is indeed very good and according to 5 star standards. However for the service whom is most important to me this was a disaster with people there. Several times they missed with my bills, had to check all twice, extra charfes billed from bar and they tried to 2x collect some money from our card and than after bank stopped transfer they tried to do it via other hotel again - never again this hotel and arround are many other 5 star and half cheaper...

The hotel is very new and it is so new that most Taxi drivers have never heard of it. The entire facility is spotless, services are impeccable. Lobby is kind of crowded although it is definitely not small.

recent establishment, the lobby is very high ceiling with a europeano colonial decor, the rooms are spacious offer nice views of the city. the staff is competent and alert. Special mention for the breakfast which is full of Asian and Western specialties. too expensive for a backpacker but reasonable if accustomed to the standing of the big European establishment.

Compared to St.regis in other countries, it's difficult to say that this is a great place. I think they need more improvement in cleanliness and rapid butler service.
The warm smile and kindness of the staff were very good though. And it was touching that the staff tried to meet my demands as much as possible.

3 star for a hotel in world class grade. The rooms are clean, new, bright, fresh and i had a view towards the bund and the view is beautiful to wake up to.
I wished that they put more emphasis to improve service ettiqutte to be comparable to other similar hotels. Quite disappointed that all the butlers i met, tells me. 'I dont understand english"
Its okay if they do not understand, but at least help the customers find a way to get assisted. Actions goes a long way in the service industry.
There is also problem ordering inroom dining menu where the staff had difficulties knowing the names of the food. And, much improvement needed to the in room dinning food.

The St. Regis in Shanghai rates as one of the best hotel experiences of my life. I travel constantly around the world for business, and I have to say that this hotel stands out from the rest. From the beautiful spaces they ve created to the warm hospitality of the staff...it feels like I m not abroad, but home. I have to praise Stuart, the manager, for his keen attention to every detail. I was most impressed that I saw him daily when coming and going and he remembered me by name and took time to talk with me. Typically, I rarely see managers taking such a direct interest in the success of their hotel. Stuart was kind, professional and accommodating. The staff team, especially William, Ethan, and Azeri were most helpful in last minute needs for room extensions and baggage shipping. Upon entering the hotel each night the welcoming line of staff and willingness and desire to assist makes you feel special. The ambiance of the bar and lobby with the exceptional music of pianist, singers, and jazz made an excellent showcase space to entertain my business guests. The room was flawless and the house keeping staff attentive to every detail...checking on me / the room multiple times a day to refresh and ensure I was comfortable. This hotel is a must stay. Location is great. People are fabulous. Accommodations luxurious.

If you don t mind a really big hotel, this is the newest SPG/Marriott in the area with big modern rooms. Personally I find it too big, and prefer the Ritz, but this is newer and more modern without a doubt. I know a lot of people who consider this the best option in Shanghai, but personally I prefer something smaller with nicer views at the cost of modernization. However, this is without a doubt a very nice hotel and I give it 5 stars without hesitation.
