Great for little kids, as it is very shallow...1 large area 2ft. and under... another 3-4ft. I have 2small kids, so definitely a plus for me. Does not allow outside food, other than water, and has no re-entry system, if you want to go get food.
I went for my birthday this past Saturday and enjoyed every moment of it!
Went to suck and puck. Employees I talked to were friendly and helpful
I swam every night there for high school swim. The facilities are nice and it's welcoming.
Excellent complex. From the indoor pool to the ice skating rink.
Friendly staff at the front desk, the food in their cafeteria is okay in a pinch, but I wish they had some healthier options sometimes.
Just don't forget to turn in your lock or wipe off the exercise equipment and you should be good.
Nice pool & nice staff. Just have complaints on pool availability.
Nice equipment, nice people, rarely crowded. Except the indoor pool during the summer might get crowded. The workers at the tot drop are great. Very low price for the gold membership to be able to drop my little ones off and have some 'me' workout time or do the classes all with no extra costs. Nice variety of morning, day, and night classes offered. The indoor track is nice when it's 100f outside but you're not a treadmill fan. Also laural park pool pass for the summer with membership
The ice rink is treacherous considering all the traffic with no Zamboni coming anytime soon. Either way, still fun.
I only visited the back building with the two ice rinks. Ample parking, easy to get in and out of the rink. I love that they serve beer! Lots of great seating options with good views of both ice rinks.
We attended a birthday party at the Recplex where they lost the reservation, had nothing set up, no cake. They attempted to make it right but it was completely embarrasing for the host. The family changing rooms for the pool are extremely dirty as well. There was no ventilation, everything was dirty and sipping wet. There wasn t a dry place to set our clothes as we changed. Though the children had fun in the pool, the employees really dropped the ball with the party.
any activities you can thinknofnisbhere and classes im still learning that they have
Grandson just started playing hockey and loves it. Great place
I come here almost daily. There is fantastic service.
This is a very nice facility. Pretty much a one stop shop for sports. Ice rinks, courts, pool, gym.....
Went to the pool had a great time we stayed until closing but they need some loungers so you can be cliser to your kids while they are swimming but there was 3 or 4 lifeguards hot tub was awesome had a sauna too lockers to and lick rentals too 2 bucks not bad. Really clean and nice staff very knowledgeable. Lots of fun the Vortex was wild spent hours in it a big whirlpool.
Large facility, they have a little bit of everything. The pool tends to be a bit chilly.
Wanted to play hockey, Im a goalie...new to the area and decided to call first as I didnt know how it worked for pick up at the recplex. Automated system answered, hit 0 to talk to someone and there was no answer...twice I called, same result. Go anyway and all slots are filled. Not mad about that but mad at the explanation. You have two desks, two people, both working one desk. Was told if the phone rings over at the unmanned desk and it doesnt switch over my call would go unanswered. That is ridiculous! Is this not a place of business to make money?! How is it good customer service to NOT answer a phone 30 feet away or just say if it doesnt transfer then the caller is just screwed. Hopefully this doesnt happen all the time. Its not like I called 2 minutes prior to my arrival but an hour and then 30 minutes before I left to go there.
Had never been here before. Took a tour. Plan on taking exercise classes and enjoying the pools.
Wanted to get a membership for me and my 9 yr old son. But they won't let him work out in weight he room even with a parent present. Won't even let him go on the track and run. Other gyms allow it .Both YMCA and planet fitness allow children as long as there I an adult present
We love visiting the Rec Plex. Seriously considering a membership. My two kids are in swim classes twice a week and really enjoy it. Great indoor leisure pool. The ice rink, fitness areas, hot tub and sauna look nice. Looking forward to our next visit.
The staff is are very nice. This place has a nice indoor pool with a great area for little kids. A nice ice skating rink. An exercise area, a weightlifting room, and much more.
Aqua aerobics for my old bones. Not my idea of fun but what I needed.
The recplex is usually the best recreation center you can find in St.Louis. Though now with the coronavirus the basketball courts have been closed. In the beginning I was ok with it but now with the pools and gyms open why cant there be open basketball courts. When I talked to the front desk they said the earliest it will probably open is 2021. Also I do want to say pre-pandemic the basketball courts and hallways were full of dust and spilled gatorade. Other than that though it is a great place.
Paths and park are well maintained which makes the walk more enjoyable.
Clean staff friendly easy to find rinks maintenance handled in timely fashion
I had never heard of the Rec-Plex before my high school's swim team swam there for the state championship swim meet. To my surprise, this enormous recreational facility houses multiple basketball/volleyball/etc courts, a gigantic pool with lanes for lap swimming and an open section, a deli, and even an arcade. The complex is situated in a very nice part of town and many shops and restaurants are nearby. I would highly recommend the recreational center at St. Peters to anyone interested. You will not be disappointed!
Today was my first time back to swim since the Covid closure. The place looks great! The short time I was there I observed a lifeguard spraying disinfectant on common touch areas in pool area and upon leaving a front desk attendant was disinfecting the front doors. Great job St Peters!
It's worth going for the indoor pool and Hockey, if you like hockey. However they do not have a lot of activities for younger children. However, if you like basketball the gym is not great at all.
12 and up is their target and we ended up not getting the membership for these reasons.
Great place for lots of sports and other activities
Huge place. Kept clean. Wish the upper parking lot was bigger. It fills up.
Its nice and big, the lanes are nice and deep, and for the family's there is also a kids section.
went for the first time and signed up with silver sneakers membership and took it to her. Lots to see and do and absorb. Hopefully we'll be able to start some classes and swimming soon.
Very nice rink and well taken care of! Always a pleasure to compete here!!
I like to swim here. I dont like getting kicked of a lap lane for a swim club though. There is often no postings of when a club has the lanes. 30 of the kids stand/stretch over your stuff and give you dirty looks until you leave. This happens to me half of the time when I swim here. I get in one lane just be asked to leave. Then I get in another lane just be asked to leave there. I swim alot. I swim about 3 times a week for a total 9-10k. The respectful thing to do is to have staff post all swim club times online and on their calendar wall. If I knew the times, I would avoid their training sessions all together. Instead it ends up being an awkward mess. This pool is a 5/5 but the lack of communication with customers is a 1/5. In short, this is a great pool but swim with patience.
It's ridiculous when you live in St. Peters and Have City water & Sewer. Taxes are the same as St. Peters, but still classified as a Non Resident. Absolutely ridiculous. I will be looking more into this. ZERO STARS
Has everything you could want in a recreation complex. For the negative comments, maybe you should be a little more observant with what classes are listed and when classes are cancelled. A complex that big has to have events of large caliper.
I love the pool here and usually have a wonderful time. However, I have to deduct some stars for this last visit. The floors in the women's locker room by the pool were incredibly slick--more so than usual. I was being especially careful and still managed to fall. They need to have someone periodically mop the floors, especially on weekends when there are more kiddos around that may not towel off well. The staff was helpful when I brought it to their attention, but I'm sitting here with ice on my knee right now.
Family fun @ an affordable price. Swimming /sauna, ice skating, basketball , indoor track & weight room.
Wonderful facilities! Can easily play host to multiple events across a variety of programs and athletics. Friendly and helpful staff compliment the clean up to date facility. Offering multiple ice rinks, basketball courts, indoor pools, training facilities and multi purpose rooms.
Great facility and really has developed into a super all-purpose center for St Peters residents. Many local youth sports such as hockey, volley ball, and swimming teams use the rec Plex for their league play. St Peters government turned this into a massive win for their residents.
Love the place, pool and ice rink all in one building
I have spent many hours here at open gyms for basketball and swimming in the indoor pool. The basketball gym is typically dusty, risking severe injury, and crowded, making it hard to get an adequate workout in. The pool is crowded w/ field trips from day camps, and often is in use by athletic teams, limiting access. It also has an ice rink, which is good but not great.
My granddaughter loves coming here to swim. I like going for the exercise.
A very great place to go and have fun. They have a lot of activities you can do along with a big pool area, hot tub and a slide.
We love this place. There's a lot to do. Ice skating, weight room, hockey games, dodge ball games.
Wonderful facility and So many levels. They get things a little better attention to some cleanliness details. Drinking phones often enough black goo in the drains makes it really hard to want to drink.
I don't know about the men's locker in the women's locker Room there's no signs telling you to take a shower before you go in the steam or the sauna. So hillbilly women OFTEN walk in fully clothed from the out and straight from the gym all sweaty and stink the place out.
Even worse, wearing outdoor Sneakers that may look brand new on top but arefull of dirt on yhe soles, these inconsiderate women then sit on the top row and put their feet on the bottom row and have ground dirt into Cedar boards.
Gross.
The communal whirlpool often had black streaky foam from people who also refuse to wash before using.
The teenage staff does nothing. Worse, when adults do get asked to modify bad behaviorsuch as bringing back paxks into the sauna!!! They ignore the teens who walk away to avoid a fight.
Where is the adult supervision?
It's a combination of low class and poor management.
Go early, Before the hillbillies come, and bring a towel to sit on.
I've asked repeatedly that something be done to correct the situation - I've been ignored for months.
Still, for all this , most people are respectul and congenial whivh makes us go back. The city offers a great service to the community with the Recplex but sure wish the attention to hygiene details was more robust .
I love the RecPlex! I teach classes there and love the facility too. Lots of options. Friendly staff.
They will change hours and programs without any information provided. Then when the hours no longer work for you they will also charge a $75 membership cancellation fee. They pretend to care about veterans and military but the girl at registration told me even active military has to pay to cancel a membership.
Excellent facility, undergoing some renovation. The foresight if those who planned the city, their use of TIFF to bank on youth sports was brilliant. It should be used as a case study in all urban planning courses at the university level.
Has many things to do, has an arcade in the food area, has multiple vending machines, plays nice music and has friendly workers
Nice facility for the entire family! Tumbling classes are taught by qualified instructors. Younger children can take fun classes during the day, while older ones are offered after school and private lessons. Children can enjoy fitness and fun classes for all ages and skill levels.
It's amazing... How do you get all that good stuff in one place?
Third best rink in the Saint Louis Metro area after Chesterfield and Centene.
I go here to see my grandson play hockey. It's a very clean environment and well lit.
If you have a daughter who wants to practice basketball DO NOT JOIN. There is absolutely no available baskets ever for a girl of any age especially not in the morning over the summer. My daughter wasexcited to start a summer routine of working on basketball while I work out in the morning and now she feels so disappointed her summer is ruined. Im signing up for the YMCA for the summer. No girl power at the Rec Plex.
All of the people are rude and it allways smells like chlorine. I very mutch hate the ref plex. I do not recommend coming here. GO ELSE WHERE!!!!!!!
