If you want to be a vocal student don't go. It's stupid, they treat the vocal students bad. They work us 10 times harder then any other track. They lost half of their department last year because they worked people that hard. Don't go there for vocals.

Letting my child attend this school was absolutely one of the best parenting choices I ever made. She is a well rounded student and artist because of this school. If you are concerned about the Academics don't be. They prepared her for college and life.

This school is a terrible school. SPCPA is all about favoritism. The staff is mainly discriminative. They are the biggest racists ever. They prioritize the white kids, and make sure the non-white kids don't get treated with respect. If you want to learn about performing arts, don't go to SPCPA. You'll save yourself the trouble. The teachers won't teach at all either. They care more about discussing stupid topics IN ARTS classes for an hour or more and you won't get to learn about actual art. Its best to just study the arts somewhere else.

I went to this school for 1 year and a half, I met so many great people and i have had a great experience going downtown and hanging out with friends. The academic part is horrible. The teachers do not know how to teach, extremely racist, they do not bother to have a relationship with their students and could care less about mental health. It s a great school for memories and fun but for the future in academics or art, you are wasting your time. Spcpa is a party school

So far freshman year has been a very huge year for me. I've learned so much and i wouldn't give this year back for the world. They've done a lot to help people that identify with a different gender to be more accepted, asking us all what are names are and what we did over summer break, what gender pronouns we prefer. I feel lucky to have a school like this one. I think I've found my place.
