Exterior shines of 1960s Las Vegas, initial impression of entry shows a bar and restaurant area likened to Bad Times at the El Mirage. I seriously looked down to check for the state line marker in the floor. Updating the looks could be in order here.
Check in was fast and the staff were more than helpful and courteous. Top rate service and the smiles made me feel welcome.
The long walk to my room reminded me once again of Vegas and the long distance to get to my room. Once I got to and entered my room, I found that they spent the money on the actual rooms. My room.was nicely appointed, modern equipment, with the ability to use internet TV, allowing me to use Netflix or any of several other services. The bathroom was above adequate, with a mirror that is nicely edge lit, and I feel slightly curved, magnifying the image. This allowed for better shaving.
With the good is always some bad, in this case I have discovered three:
1. Excess dust in the vent in the shower. Odd place for a vent, but it had what looked like caterpillars growing in the edges due to lack of or too quick of a cleaning job. A little would be understandable, but when they get to almost a half inch in diameter, more should be done.
2. The coffee maker. The coffee itself is mediocre, but upon pulling it out and setting it up (no, it wasn't out, it was on a lower shelf), I pulled out the drawer to insert the tray with the coffee packet to find the packet from the previous occupant. Disgusting, and this should never be overlooked by any staff.
3. This is being nitpicky, but anyone who has read my previous posts knows this of me, but the toilet paper was on backwards. My OCD kicked into overdrive, and I fixed it.
Overall, the bed was comfortable, and I got a good night's sleep. The shower had better than average pressure, and I can say that I feel good.
*Update* Well, after an 11 night stay, I can say that I am disappointed. WiFi is $9.95 a day unless you sign up as a member. In this day and age, WiFi should be a part of the deal. I can go to far lesser motels and get it for free. I also have to question the integrity of the staff, as I entered 12 days ago with a full, unopened box of Claritin-D. I just so happened to not need it this trip, as my allergies we're not acting up, so imagine my surprise when I went to take one before my flight and discover that someone had not only consumed the entire box, but left one empty blister in the box. Needless to say, I'm rather angry, and will be bringing this up with corporate.
