The infusion center nurses are the absolute best. Professional, kind and Covid careful consistently. Food is awful and the infusion center needs a facelift and expansion desperately.

I waited for over 7 hours to get a cut stitched . And they didn't even give me a bandaid. Horrible service! Horrible lazy doctors. No ointments? No bandage? No care. I would never come here again.

this place is full of the most u unprofessional emergency staff i have ever encountered in a hospital with. first of all no one wants to be giving any attitude when being in place where your either waiting for your family member or simply checking in for your own self. literally i walked in sat down with my husband and these triage nurses are un welcoming whatsoever. second , they decide to gossip about patients in their triage section about patients they ve encountered with earlier in the day. these people have zerorespect for their jobs and the people they to help assist in their job, so why are you even a nurse or a professional in the medical industry. simply DISGUSTING, & ratchet AF

My sister was admitted to the emergency room and then to a hospital room involuntarily with mental health issues. They would not allow any visitors due to Covid. She was not mentally stable and yet a family member could not advocate for her. It is like admitting a child and not allowing the parent to go with them. I disagree with this protocol and it should be reconsidered. I also called the next day to speak to my sister or her social worker and was on the phone for 2 hrs!!! I could not get through. I was either transferred or the phone just rang with no response. I was able to speak to the nurse that evening. I live out of state and my aunt (who lives locally) also called for an update. The nurse was upset because two of us called and insisted that we only have 1 contact person, they do not have the time to answer phone calls. That was incredibly rude. Part of patient care is to communicate with the family. They would not allow family to visit nor had issues that family was calling to get updates. I can see if they had 5 calls from different people but 2 people in a span of 3 days. Patients have families, and families are also in distress regarding their loved ones. Please be patient, considerate, and caring with all parties involved. We need to be a team and work together for the care of the patients that go through those medical doors.

This hospital is a joke..Waited three hours just to get told they apparently do not do the procedure I needed and to call my physician...But they made sure to check my vitals...Because in case I die tonight their asses are covered because at least they checked my vitals...What a freaken joke. This seems like EVERY er in Stockton because dameron is just as bad if not worse. People if your in sure need or pain I suggest leaving this town because you will die waiting for them to help you.

This place is so unprofessional! I have been here over ten hrs and yet, still waiting on a nurse to give me a damn shot! This place is very dirty and messy ..the staff looks and work like they are fresh out of school or have no clue to what they are talking about... This is ridiculous I wouldn't recommend anyone to come to this hell hole!

The technician that gave me my mammogram was so nice. I wish I could remember her name but I can't at the moment. I'm almost positive that she is Filipino and she was quite a bit shorter then me. I wanted to leave a review because she was so sweet and she was great to talk to. She made getting a mammo such a breeze. I highly recommend going to St. Joes so you can have her for your testing.

I was so grateful at the swift, courteous, and thorough service I received at St. Joseph's Medical Center. My normal medical provider is in San Jose, but there was no hassle with them seeing me. My hat goes off to all the staff at St. Joseph's.

Could be a #3 or a #5..... All depends on the time of day, or night, one goes in. Since partnering with Kaiser..... The E.R. is full of "less desirable's". Sorry.
Been with Kaiser for 30+ yr.'s.....lived next door to St. Joe's for 45+ yr.'s..... The changes have not always been good for the community.

I visited the ER recently with my boyfriend who had a severe laceration on his hand. He was bleeding profusley when we walked in. I went up to the counter where the ER staff was goofing off and made me wait to fill in paperwork. Having never visited this hospital before, I assumed that i was to fill out paperwork and hand it back to the staff. When I tried, i was barked at to sit down and was not given further instruction. At check in the nurse joked loudly that my boyfriend cut his hand on a beer can (he didn't ) which we found odd and offensive. We waited for at least an hour before a nurse came out and started taking some patients vitals. I went up to her and asked her to take the paperwork. After another hour had passed I approached her again and asked why she had not yet taken his vitals. She said "Oops I left his papers in the office", walked away and about fifteen minutes later took his vitals. Since he was still bleeding and we were worried he might lose his finger or get and infection I tried to be more insistent that he be seen immediately; it was not that busy after all. We waited for around 4 hours before he was given a wrist band and taken back into the triage rooms while other patients were seen for complaints of colds and bruises. No coincidence that all the patients seen before him were white, while the remaining patients in the waiting room were not. When he was finally seen by a doctor- the doctor took no care in making sure he was comfortable. The triage room was dirty and there was a dead roach near the wall as well as food trash. The doctor stuck his own finger in my boyfriends wound and asked "did that hurt?" while blood squirted all over the bed. Another 45 minutes and the doctor came back to give him a Tetanus shot. Another half hour and a nurse cleaned his wound. FINALLY the doctor comes back to do stitches... this man does NOT know how to do stitches! He ended up stitching his finger in an upright position which has forced the skin to regrow awkwardly and painfully. The nurse incorrectly bandaged the wound. The bandage only lasted an hour or two. When the insurance lady came in to take his info she asked his race to which he replied "Native American". Her response (and she wasn't joking) "So were you born in America?"

Honestly with St Joseph Mecical Center letting go ...

Honestly with St Joseph Mecical Center letting go their Certified Nursing Assistants was a big mistake! My husband stayed in the hospital for 4 days on the second floor due to heart issues. Not one time did his RN ask to help him get cleaned nor bring him a clean gown. The poor guy sharing a room with my husband just came out of surgery and he literally stayed in that dirty gown as well. No clean sheets, no clean towels, nothing was offered. So I went to speak to Belin RN informing her about this situation and she gave me wipes! I would like to see if someone can truly be CLEANED with these wipes. I did the best to make sure my husband personal hygiene was kept up while at the hospital. But I just felt bad for the guy who was sharing a room with my husband because he didn't have family that was able to help him, but sure enough his insurance is paying for his care and the poor guy couldn't even get cleaned.

I was seen by the doctor in the waiting room. It wasn't very busy either. They didn't take me back to a room Im 67 yrs old was having chest discomfort. I told the doctor why are you letting everyone in this waiting room hear our conversation. I felt like it was personal. So when it was time for me to be discharged I thanked her for taking me to a private room. Why do you have your patients sign the hippi form when you see your patients on the waiting so everyone could hear. I'm a Kaiser Patient I was told to go to the nearest hospital that's why I went to St Joseph. I had a bad experience.

I found the ER staff to be hard working, compassionate and efficient in the face of very crowded conditions. I observed over many hours how staff members treated each and every patient with dignity. The long wait was simply due to sheer volume. I applaud the effort exhibited by all, a true team effort.

My wife miscarried and only gave her a pint of blood , since she ate a quarter of a sandwich after that pint they sent her home. Took her to county hospital and they had to give her another 2-3 pints of blood .
this hospital is pathetic.

Worst experience of my life for the second time. T...

Worst experience of my life for the second time. The nursing staff were way overworked and could hardly remember when they were supposed to bring something to you that. Was requested. The best was Zareena, even though she had a lot going on, she tried her best to follow through.
I was moved to three different rooms. The last room on the 4th floor was unreal. The first bed stuck out from the wall to 6 + so the door wouldn't close, the bathroom had a hinge sticking out so it wouldn't close all the way. With the front door at an open position you had to maneuver your IV pole around to squeeze in. Having to get up all night as I was preparing for a colonoscopy, if my roommate hadn't been out of it it would have been embarrassing and uncomfortable if she could of heard anything through the open door.

The Dr. Had be start preparing at 8:00 pm the night before telling me my procedure was going to be first thing in the morning. I finally went down at 3:30 in the afternoon.

I left 4 days later, without my shoes because they had been lost.

Never again.

This hospital is horrible! I was pregnant and hemorrhaging and the nurses didn t hook me up to monitors. I had to remind them how to do their job! In emergency my roommate told the doctors that I had been there for hours and needed help while he had several visits from doctors and social workers! The doctor never explained what was going on with me and sent me home with paperwork saying I was spotting without giving me a pelvic exam! Honestly I do believe this hospital needs training on how to care for patients of color and how to uphold the new law for black maternal mortality! Very disappointed. I could have died

Update: I did contact the email the owners sent over and got no response!

I went there last night due to a chronic cough that I had already had for 3 weeks. I thought they were just going to tell me to take some over the counter medication and send me on my way, but instead they actually treated me! I checked into the ER for 5:30AM via the online check in we got there at 5am and they instantly took my vitals and asked me about my illness. They sent me back to the waiting area and not even 5 minutes later they called me back. I was given a breathing treatment, medicine, chest xray and blood drawn. Very thorough, staff was very friendly, I even saw the security guard assisting a patient with finding them a couple of blankets. Super sweet!

I had an excellent experience when admitted to St....

I had an excellent experience when admitted to St. Joseph's. All the nurses bent over backward to make sure I was as comfortable as possible, under the circumstances. I've never met a more caring staff than that of St. Josephs.

The only somewhat negative comment I would make is the abundance of doctors coming to see me. I was there for 8 days. In that time I saw 5 different doctors. 1 was my surgeon, 1 was another surgeon who was brought in to consult since I had other stuff going wrong. 1 was the hospital surgeon (not sure what he did) and one was an aid to one of the surgeons (not sure which one). And 1 was the doctor over all the hospital doctors. Not sure what he was there for. It confused me and I wasn't sure who was making decisions for me. They all seemed to be in a rush.

I want to make clear, that even with the abundance of doctors, I was extremely well cared for. My health issues were seen to and corrected as quickly as possible. I was released as soon as I was well enough to leave. I absolutely trust St. Josephs team with mine and my family's life, if needs be. And that's really what it comes down to. Thank you St. Josephs.

If I could I would rate this hospital emergency 0 stars. Came here with my 9month old son after thanksgiving last year. He had weird skin condition so had him get checked out. It took 4 hours 2 doctors just to say my son may have chicken pox. But when the third doctor came he said he didn't. The staff kept us in a room that was isolated from everyone else there was white paper on the window in the room. Which made me very mad, I should be calling corporate on each doctor and nurse. After being told my son didn't have chicken pox and that we could be discharged. It took another hour just for that to happen. When the lady came with the discharge papers she kepted saying my son have chicken pox and really he didn't , she was very rude.i will NEVER come here again.

On 10-15-17 my husband and I came to St. Jospeh s to welcome our first child into the world and I m so thankful we chose this hospital. The staff and doctors are top notch, incredibly attentive and exceptionally caring. Being that this was my first child I was definitely terrified but the nurses, especially Christina, were amazing and gave me the confidence and reassurance that I needed to hear. Not only was my recent experience fantastic but this hospital has treated and saved the lives of multiple people in my immediate family (my father had sepsis and was admitted for 3 weeks and my niece was in the NICU for 2 weeks) and for that I will always trust St. Joseph s to treat myself and loved ones.

If I could give St. Joseph's less than one star, I would. It is a filthy hospital. My Mom was taken too the ER because she is a Kaiser pt. She was dx with pneumonia. The Dr in ER said that she would be kept for about 4 days. Guess what... she died there. Was on the Respiratory floor. Not one nurse listened her lungs while she was there. The Respiratory department is a joke. I am still very upset. Same on Kaiser.

I would not even give this hospital a rating horrible job caring for my father who passed away in March. Untrained staff, young and clueless. There were 2 nurse that I felt cared and had compassion but other than that even the doctors were rude. The only humanitarian I felt was the chapel man.
I am still with anger and feel that this hospital had some very young staff and was clue less. I had to tell them to turn my dad after 5 hours when clearly in the board it says 2.
Very upset and disappointing to see after traveling far to come see my dad. After my dad passing he came in his dream to ask my mom why did you take me to that hospital? "Did you know what they did to me?". I will leave it at that.....

I'm only giving this hospital one star is because ...

I'm only giving this hospital one star is because the elevators worked so I can get away! I was brought in by ambulance in excruciating pain and thinking I was going to die when I got to the hospital they pulled me off the gurney out of the ambulance and put me in a school desk type chair. As People know you don't want to sit in a metal chair feeling like you're going to die so I fell to the floor as the hospital said ma'am you can't lie on the floor I said I can't sit in a chair so they said suit yourself and threw a blanket over me. I really don't know how long I was on the floor but finally was given a gurney and put in the hallway for 8 hours Was finally put in a Room still hadn't seen any doctors It was 7:00 p.m. in the evening and then was told they're going to put me in another Room I was moved in the middle of the night. I finally started to get some sleep or any kind of rest when at 11 o'clock a another patient was brought in the Room who had their family there for hours. Now they decide to do tests on me MR I's ultra sounds blood test my IV broke 3 times when i was there for 2 and a 1/2 days Was once given a 1/2 gallon jar of water by my bed. I was told I could not get out of bed without a nurse to use the restroom every time I needed to use the restroom it took 45 minutes to get somebody to help me. The woman behind me waited 5 hours for food I finally called someone to say Hey this woman has been asking for food same as myself. Not that I would ever want to use a bedpan but had to unplug this R2D2 massad machine hooked to my arm a heart monitor Made it very difficult to get to the restroom by myself Every time I ask when my The favorite answer in this hospital is I will talk to your doctor of which I only saw once and told me a totally different story than what was on my Chart. They would come in and do a blood test 40 minutes later they would come and take my blood pressure 40 minutes later they would come and do something else 40 minutes later they would come again I don't see how they can't consolidate all this testing at least 2 hours apart when someone is sick you can't be woke up every fotty minutes on top I having a roommate that seams to have her family in there all night long. The last straw was at 11:00 p.m. at night my ivy broke in my arm again and I was holding pressure on it to try to stop the bleeding I pushed the emergency button at least 10 times and screamed for help anybody I heard walking down the Hall as I watched people in scrubs keep walking I was so very weak with lack of sleep and being sick. I finally found the strength to grab my R2D2 unplug it from the wall get across the Hall into the elevator go to the ground floor and scream for help a police officer came and I said get somebody to take this out of my arm as no nurse on the floor would assist me Low and behold there's my nurse that was supposed to come to my aid after pushing the emergency button I refused to let him touch me they got another nurse to take the ivy completely out I called and over at almost midnight and got the h*** out of there! I wish I knew the nurse's name that did actually help me. I find this hospital X dream Li rude and seemed to have the attitude I work for a pay check and not to have empathy! It's so strange but that last night there I saw children walking around in T shirts and holding bowls that looked like cereal and cups that could have come from a fast food joint I don't know why they were there all night running around. When I look back at the whole experience I see there something very very wrong There. Oh at midnight my dinner and tray was still on my table and for 2 days nothing but water asked for some juice was told 2 days ok I'll se what can do . The last night I was there a nurse told me that juice is scarce on that floor what is that mean?

This has to be one of the worst hospitals ever. The lack of communication is disgusting! My father is in the icu and we have been trying to get an update on him but every time we call they tell us the nurse is busy they will call back. Hours pass and they never do. How difficult is it to call back a patient s family and inform them of what is going on. I would never recommend this hospital because they do not want to give any information to a patients family which is their job.

I went in for a headache I'd had for 4 days. I have been unable to eat or drink for 2 days. Even after explaining I can't keep anything down all they did was give me a shot of morphine, and valium and a nausea med (I don't know the name of) orally. They then took me for a CT scan and put me in the waiting room with screaming children and other patients waiting on their taxis. No fluids were given, I was never checked on again and my headache was never fixed. They did nothing for me

My Spanish Speaking father recieved amazing bed size manners from the nurses after vascular surgery. Without the caring support of Tina after his leg amputation- he feels he would have went into panic mode. Very thankful for her caring ways despite the fact she didn't speak Spanish. Her caring ways broke that barrier and forever grateful to her for caring for my father.

St. Joseph s has the most rudest people that check you in . My boyfriend just checked in for numerous symptoms including throwing up blood , chest pain , and pooping blood . They sent him to the back to take 2 pills . One for pain and one for diarrhea. They didn t even examine him or draw blood . They did nothing . Absolutely disappointed! St. Joseph s staff needs to honestly step there game up and treat there patients like they care and like they want to help . Don t rush your job because you never know the human being your rushing out your hospital that could have something seriously wrong with them . Do . Your . Job . You all need a staff meeting of being a better hospital!

This is a wonderful hospital for birthing mothers. I have had two boys in the last 3 yrs here and both experiences were wonderful. The Dr.s and staff are well trained and super helpful. The E.R. is also very helpful but it is for emergencies! All too often you go and there are multiple peoples there for headaches or cold symptoms. Please see your doctor's for these kinds of issues because the E.R. is there to save lives not give you asprin and a checkup.

Got to the ER at 9pm. It wasn't busy at all. But the 400 pound "security" guard at the desk completely ignored us for 15 minutes while she sat on her phone. We finally get in and get paperwork. We wait for about an hour then they take my wife's temp. About another hour and a half of nothing happening and hearing all the nurses laughing down the hall we left. Its a joke. And it was extremely dirty and it looked as if someone have birth on the bathroom floor.

My daughter was admitted through the ER on July 30, 2020 for complications with her current liver transplant she had eight years ago...in which she is currently on the transplant list awaiting another one. Wanted to say a huge thank you to Dr James Belogorsky for taking amazing care of her...words cannot express our gratitude, and especially because of COVID-19 we were not able to be with her. All the staff and nurses took wonderful care for her, and a huge thank you to one nurse named Melissa Fields who kept me in contact closely with her care. Her primary care is done at UCSF Medical Center, but this hospital took great care of her!!! Thank you for EVERYTHING!!!

"Some" credit must be given where credit is due th...

"Some" credit must be given where credit is due then I'll discuss the ER issue and the geo-demographic cause. Ugh. Once a person is admitted the care improves, however, I'm not giving it the biggest thumbs up that's for certain. Nurses do the rounds on time. The drs. are competent. bedside manners are okay, other dr.s are excellent & some physicians just need to retire. ER: oh. my. tsk. tsk. but I 'understand' why.

The ER is not an Urgent Care. One of the largest health problems in America is full of people with no insurance and no primary dr so they use ERs for their health care. It may be an emergency to you but not to the doctors whom have one severe car crash patient, one 65 yr old with a heart attack and a child presenting with a severe, possibly infectious cough. There is one, maybe two (if the hospital is lucky that day,) main doctor whom oversees ALL the other PAs, nurses etc. on duty.

Many of the doctors in ER are residents working towards being a dr and they must report everything they see from the patient then must get approval for doing any procedure on said patient including prescribing Tylenol. That takes a lot of time.

Re: Nursing staff and paper pushers. Now.. most are fresh out of your local
"Graduate As A CNA In 3 to 6 Months!" school.
CNA=Certified Nursing Assistant.

Any 18 yr old with not enough experience in life , let alone people and still building their morals, ethics and common sense skills who quite honestly are fresh out of diapers only 14 years ago, can get a 'Certificate" to check your blood, temp, apply bandages and write down your complaints.

Personally I don't want my 18 year old helping in a medical situation...

Now this where geographic location and demographics come into play. Just look at where you are. OMG. Stockton, California.

S.T.O.C.K.T.O.N. It's a cesspit. The no-income to lower middle class exceed anyone with money.

One: -----You try recruiting qualified, caring doctors, (who passed their test the first time) to come and work for a 2 star hospital, to live in a town RAMPANT with domestic violence, alcoholism, severe drug use, white, black and Hispanic gangs, graffiti-laden buildings and more liquor stores and cash advance stores on every corner than Starbucks or quality bistros and cafes.
Yeah, exactly where every person wants to spend their life after graduating from Stanford etc and owing Sally Mae ( student loan co) in excess of 180 thousand dollars.

Now, every local knows you only go to St. Josephs and not Dameron because Dameron will kill you. Period. ( I left the E.R. once after watching a rat scurry from one room to the other...yes. i'm serious) So of course that increases the amount of people attending the ER at St. Joes. I could go on and mention how most of the city barely survives on minimum wage and low-income jobs because the city offers nothing more.
No big industry, no large companies to work at. Surviving in such conditions does not make for a loving, caring, understanding society with people who exude the same.
It breeds sarcastic, cynical, uneducated ( just look at the lack of colleges and how LOW rated all the elementary schools ratings in Stockton are to prove my point ) people and those are the type of people who work at the hospital. It's sad but true.

I could go on but I have to work. Found a great a job in a new state. Have a new car. Have a new life. Have friends whom don't do drugs whom don't know someone who does drugs. I can go for a walk at night along well-lighted streets and I will NEVER EVER look back at my time in Stockton and say "God I miss that place. "

Our daughter was delivered in the maternity ward. The doctor on call was exceptional. Her expertise and swift action keep up all safe during a complex delivery. She communicated well and provided excellent care throughout our stay. Our assigned nurses were also very accommodating and helpful in every way. I couldn t have asked for better staff and support during our stay.

They prescribed my daughter an antibiotic that she is ALLERGIC to. They administered this to her via IV. I asked multiple times if she was allergic to it and they kept telling me no. I let it go because they are nurses and doctors, they went to school for this and they should be paying attention to detail. I trusted them. We went home and she started to hive, scratch her neck, body and she started to get redness on her neck and body. I thought maybe it was because she was sweating due to her wearing her sweater and because we just got out the hospital, and hospitals are full of bacteria and germs. When my parents went to the pharmacy, the pharmacy said they can t give her the antibiotic because it shows on their computer she s allergic to it. Why is it he pharmacy had records of her allergy to his medication but this multimillion dollar hospital had NO RECORD of it anywhere. My daughter is 5 years old and the person who answers the phone stated that there s nothing they can do about it. They wanted us to wait another 7 hours just to get another prescription of antibiotic that she isn t allergic to. This is their fault. They need to fix this but they refused to right their wrongs, so now my daughter is suffering because of their mistake! I told that receptionist woman that what if something worse happened to her and her throat closed or something worse! All she could tell me was to either come back and wait in the ER or take her to the urgent care because IT IS FASTER. I m going to the board and reporting this NEGLECTFUL ACT against a helpless 5 year old girl! Shame on you guys.

This place is terrible. I forced my mom to come get seen because she broke her leg in 3 places and she's hard at hearing. They immediately took her to the back and wouldn't let me back with her. She's terrified to be here in first place because the last time she was here my grandma (her mother) died. She's afraid she's not coming back out. I should be back there with her. It's been 2 hrs and several tests and I promised id stay with her but they won't let me. WTH??? Never bringing her back here again!!! Worst patient service ever!!!

I went to the ER there with severe stomachache and arm pain. Was diagnosed with gastritis from the water? I then went to another hospital. I had a heart attack. How do they get away with this? Probably because I was on medi-cal. The people were very rude to me, especially Jessica, the nurse. And the doctor was idiot. Just saying. He let me leave with a blood pressure of 179/85. I've had several strokes. Bad

I went in to the ER because I was dealing with major anxiety and was out of my medication! While they were having a busy afternoon my entire visit was 40 minutes. I was prescribed the medication I needed without incident and would ABSOLUTELY come here again with any emergency needs!

Thank you St. Joseph's... Without your help things would have spiraled outta control!

I just have to shout out to this hospital and everyone that I came in contact with during my stay. My name is Amanda and I'm 33 who just had twin girls early...five weeks early. They truly care about your well being. You can feel it, sense it and really it just makes you feel amazing...you're truly in good hands here. I am so glad I chose this hospital. I live in Lodi and the hospital in Lodi compared to St. Joseph's is night and day. I have to shout out to a few nurses that took care of me ...Katie Sanchez, Kristy, and Irlanda there are a few others who I can't remember names because I was so out of it after surgery... They were all so caring, supportive and understanding. Thank you for making my stay amazing. Oh and the food is sooooo good too. Wow. I will refer anyone and everyone to your hospital. Thank you for taking such great care of me and my babies. I was so scared to be a mom but you all made it possible for me to believe I can do it and I did it. Thank you for keeping me updated on everything I needed and for keeping us safe. The security here is too notch. I rate all of you with five stars...I want to do more to get the word out about your hospital and staff...and the food :) thank you again!!

Omg I am in the ICU waiting room right now and the bathroom is 10 worse than a portable bathroom at the fair. Disgusting!! I complained twice and no one has cleaned it. Looks like it has NOT been cleaned in a month. Unacceptable!! Staph infection waiting to happen.
