With my dad dying from a long battle with prostate cancer my sister and I were really hoping for help from St. Joseph Hospice and we really got very little, very disappointing. It took several days to get his care pack with all the drugs to help manage his pain, nausea and anxiety. We never got a urinal, we never got help knowing how to take care of him, how to change bedding, how to get pads on him, etc. They never bathed him. In 4 weeks his care nurse only visited twice after being told to expect 2-3 visits per week. After he passed it took two days for them to pick up their equipment after we were told it would happen the day he passed. There are many options for hospice care, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

My experience was extremely disappointing and sad. Staff didn't respect my beliefs, and handled things very unprofessionally. Follow-up was poor,
and I still have an unresolved issue, eight months after my mother's passing, that they ignore.

I want to highly commend and recommend St. Joseph Mercy Home Care for at home and follow-up medical care.
MSW Rachel, social worker, has been extremely caring and helpful to us for our 77 year old friend. She is very quick to respond to any question and need our friend has and cares about her safety at home.
SLP Bree, soeech therapist has brought my friend, who had many strokes, from very slurred speech to helping her form her words and carry on a conversation. My friend knew what she wanted to say, but before Bree, was unable to get them out without much frustration. She is improving so much.
We were so pleased to know that Shannon, the Occupational Therapist who worked with my 75 year old sister after 5 fractures in her foot, is going to be working with our friend.
Weas friends have had minimal interaction with the nurses and physical therspist, but in that time, they were all very approachable snd helpful. Administration and people at the office are very good as well.
Thank you all so very much!!!

Worst experience ever! Once we signed my Dad up he lived only 6 days and they dropped the ball on something everyday. Problems transferring him, van issues. No supples ever ordered when we arrived back at my Dad s assisted living facility. No oxygen, no breathing machine, no meds, no supplies ordered. They finally delivered an oxygen machine and my husband noticed the next day it had water in tubing and was not working! I m sure my
Dad was suffering with no oxygen! Took 2 more trips out to fix. Two hours before my Dad died on 5-17-2019 the rest of the drugs, breathing machine and supplies arrived. They told us on Wednesday he had a week or so to live and he died 2 days later. Our family spent the entire week fixing the situation! No one ever called to apologize until I called them. Too late for my Dad and our family but not too late for your family. RUN from St Joseph Hospice!

A patient of mine has this home care agency. Not all but most of the staff didn't follow protocol mandated by law. Had to actually oversee most visits for fear of the staff not doing the best thing for the patient. A lot of home care workers get away with things they'd never get away with if there were supervision. They'll all get old one day, hope they get the same kind of care they gave.

Everyone (Andrea, Tracy, Kristin & many others) at St. Joseph Mercy Home Care & Hospice were caring, compassionate, professional, proactive and responsive.
They went above and beyond to provide excellent care, and comfort to my dearest wife during her last month on earth and care advice and guidance to my son and me.
