St John's Home for Boys and Girls Review

All is not Lost!!! Needed much supervision. The boys are allll in of structure and guidance. They need of a career path / alternatives/ chores

No supervision. Kids leave whenever they want to.They steal if you are in the park in seaside in Rockaway NY 11694. They do drugs they have no respect for anyone. Not even parents with children. I would not recommend this place. I am trying to have them shut down. They are a big problem in Rockaway.

This place should not be near schools. It's unbelievable

Terrible place in the late 80s the worst experience a child should go through even staff use to put there hands on us nothing sexual just fighting ....my mom's tryed but I was out of control so the judge sent me :(

I do not understand how a parent who has their child in a place like a boys home would complain about how the staff treat their child, if your child is in a boys home please explain to me why they are not living @ home with their parent, it can be be because they are well behaved, a lot of these kids are disrespectful so that's why they do not live at home because their own parents have no control over them. I give it to the staff that puts up with the BS from these kids that go around telling the staff SUCK MY D**K and challenge the staff to fight. so before any parent goes on to talk about the staff at St John how about asking yourself why do i not have my child living with me. Yes some of the staff their are rotten apples but their are some who try and make a differnece but even that's hard when you working with kids that come from broken homes that their own family "DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH THEM" sad but true

Some of the staff are very rude. If you leave a message for Mr. Charles Jenkins, he doesn't return your calls. He totally disregards the parents concerns and he covers up for some of his staff that act inappropriately. I have had many problems with a Mr. Cooke and nothing has been done, they always sugar coat things. There are some pleasant staff members but the ones that are bad are just allowed to act that way so since they know nothing will be happen, they continue with the behavior. I had to have my son changed to a different apartment because it got way out of hand. Mr. Cooke put his hands on my son and the other staff from that apt tried to downplay it. If they see this comment, I don't really care because it is all true. They need to show more respect for the parents and for the children when they are in need and not just cover up for their employees. The employees need to know what is right and what is wrong and what NOT to do. Also they need to act like the adults that they are and not like little kids you just want to bully a child around because he spoke up.
