EARLIER REVIEW: We tried St. Helen's corned beef ...

EARLIER REVIEW: We tried St. Helen's corned beef "Rachels Deli Brand Corned Beef" tonight. It was hands down the worst Corned Beef we've ever had and we've tried them all - it was as dry as a bone and hardly any flavour. We buy different brands of corned beef every year for our annual St. Patrick's Day party and we've always been happy with the quality of what we've served. I'm so glad we tried the St. Helen's / Rachels corned beef on our own first, because if we had served it to guests it would have been very embarrassing.

UPDATE: To be fair, the company did everything they could to address my concerns. Hand delivered 8 or 10 packages to our house, we ve tried about half and all were excellent, so maybe we initially just got a dud, because the rest were great.

here is a place where you can earn minimum wage for pulling eyes out of animals 8 hours a day and somehow not become a sociopath - if you want to track down criminals the likely hood of finding them here is high - remember pickton - he had no conscience about putting women through his wood chipper much the way animals are done away with here

Interesting how on their website, the first image you see is cows standing on what appears a farm with green grass and beautiful sunshine. No, they would NEVER show us how the cows are slaughtered. The food is called "beef", not "cows". I wish the government would make it a requirement to put a picture of the animal on the package you are about to eat, just the way cigarette packages are required to show lungs with cancer, messed up teeth, etc.

St Helens is the best! I am always super satisfied with the meat I purchase from them. Honestly, its the best you can buy in the city! I like to spoil my family with top notch bone in ribeye's for special occasions.

Incredible product quality, selection and service. A family run business that has been supporting the economy for over 70+ years. There is a reason why they are one of the last remaining meat packers in Canada - Quality, Service and Excellent Standards. Keep up the great work!

Great to have a certified halal supplier here. My one wish is that their products supplied to Costco and the 33 North store in front of their location have the HMA certified stamp as well.

A lot of people trust St. Helen's due to their HMA certification and this would make it a lot easier to purchase their most reliable products. It's hard to find HMA certified Ribeye, briskets, short ribs, and AAA beef. I'd love to be able to buy them directly from St. Helen's.

Pregnant cows, baby calves - all of them end up here dying in the most horrific ways imaginable. When they are pulled into St Helens many of them have tears in the eyes. The trucks meanwhile are covered with feces. Animals have to spend their last minutes standing in feces as well... Google vegan recipes instead - it is so easy!

It s a horrible place to work cause it s too fast pace and your hands will start to hurt. I was once an employee here and I would like to agree with Jobe that there s a high turnover rate. Almost every weeks you see new faces.
