A great school for our daughter. Living in Montgomery County, with its reputation for great public schools, it is hard for some to imagine the need for private schools. However when we look beyond the facade, some MCPS schools are not that great--certainly not for all kids.

We choose to look at private schooling for our daughter for her high school years; in large part because we did not have confidence our local public high school would be a good place for our daughter as a "launching pad" for an optimal future in college and beyond.

We choose St. Andrews because of their commitment to academic excellence, student diversity & inclusiveness and the CTTL program. St. Andrews has exceeded our expectations in every possible way. Our quiet daughter is excelling in class, active in dance and, to our shock and pleasure, signed up for an improv class.

St. Andrews is a place that welcomes students taking educational risks and challenges. Failure is an option; "the only wrong answer is the one you didn't try." And the CTTL program provides teachers with tools and curricula that helps every student excel. It's an amazing program that will hopefully be in every school some day. Right now St. Andrews is ground zero on this amazing research and evidenced-based practice!

At this time of this review, there are higher profile schools in the DC area. However when it comes to a great school. Few can truly compare to the total package offered by St. Andrews.

We were attracted to the ratio of students:teachers. But it turned out to be the best choice for our kids. It s a great school were each student performance matters to the teachers and the whole academy team.

We have been part of the St. Andrew's Lower School community for 4 years and it just keeps getting better. "Knowing each student" is not simply a catch-phrase. Teachers and administrators go so far beyond what's expected, you think "They can't possibly be giving each child the type of attention they're giving to my son." But when you talk to other parents you find out, they're thinking the same thing! Whether it's a phone call, an email, a newsletter update, or a brief chat in the hallway, hardly a day goes by when I don't receive some sort of communication about what the grade is working on and how my son is progressing. Our family loves St. Andrew's and we look forward to many happy years ahead of us.

I have two kids that go to St. Andrew's and I could not be happier with the school. What a terrific faculty. Strikes the perfect balance between warm and nurturing and academically rigorous.

Our son graduated from St. Andrew's Episcopal School a couple of years ago and now he attends Georgetown University, a student in the McDonough School of Business. Not only did he have an excellent experience as a student in all regards, he was extremely well prepared for college. He was able to take on the rigors of college without so much as a hiccup and notably, he was ready for the intensive writing and team project requirements. Additionally, he jumped right in and got involved in the life of the university. Moreover, he had the inner confidence to take educated risks and try new things. We are extremely grateful for the exceptional education he received at St. Andrew's.
