Hotel staff was very friendly and accommoding. The hotel features many activities for kids and families (indoor water park, bowling, arcade, rec room, and restaurants. The hotel rooms are a little outdated, but they serve their purpose and are very clean. The only issue I had was during our second night the hotel alarms kept going off. The staff did their best to address the issue, but after being awoken 7 times we decided to cut our trip short and leave early. The manager was more than understanding and did everything to make it right. Apparently the malfunctioning alarm system is a current issue in the resort. The staff can only do so much until the "powers that be" properly fix the issue. Overall the resort was lovely place and the staff is absolutely amazing.

The water park is much smaller than similar ones in the area and is quite dated. When we went, 3 of the attractions weren't working. Understandable that these things happen, but we should have been notified since that is about half of the things in the park. A sign at the front desk, or a discount would have been nice .

We would go to the area again, but will skip this water park in the future .

The resort is going down the tubs. I can not believe how the quality has gone down. I have been going to this resort for many years and the resort was always top notch. But now on this visit, the resort appears to be not kept up and neglected. I am very disappointed.

Cigar Fest 2019 was awesome and on the surface the resort looks in good condition, but once in my room on the Slope side of the resort the room and kitchen was very dated and in need of a face lift. The staff was polite and helpful so three stars is my averaged grade.

Okay, let's get this review started. First of all,...

Okay, let's get this review started. First of all, check in was not managed properly. Just utter chaos, if you don't get there early. Secondly, the lockers they have are $8 for small and $10 for large. The "large" lockers are not large at all. Going into the park, you pass the concession stand. The nachos were kind of nasty but the cheese was good. The fries were fried in old oil. You could tell by the taste and the black spots all over your fries. The food is overpriced and not that great. On to the "tiki bar." There is an older white lady who is not very people friendly. She really needs to work in her people skills. She wasn't rude to me but I noticed her being rude and short with several other customers. She clearly didn't like her job. I sat at the bar and she took forever to get me a second drink, so I got up and walked away.

The pool area was okay. The kids will enjoy it but I was kind of disappointed that they don't have a lazy river. Every indoor waterpark I've been to has one, except this one. The pools are over chlorinated. I felt like my eyes were burning after about 30 minutes and I wasn't even in the water. The waterslides are okay but the family tubing section needs more rafts. They only had 2 in operation and there were lots of people on line.

The lifeguards . . . If that's what you want to call them are kind of useless. Well, the 2 I encountered were. 2 young kids were standing at the edge of the waterslide waiting for tubers to come out the tunnel but instead of paying attention, they were too busy gossiping about girls while one of them sipped his iced coffee. 2 little girls came out of the tunnel and they didn't help them get out of the tube nor care to bring it closer. One of the little girls was pretty small and slipped underneath the tube. I had to jump in front of them and help her out of the water because she was stuck underneath the tube and was underwater. Mind you, these are 2 little white girls and I'm a big black guy. I'm sure these girls were scared at first seeing me grab her and pull her from under the tube. Hey lifeguards, do your job or find another position on the park. Maybe the concession stand. This little girl had fear all in her eyes. I probably won't come back to this park for that matter, alone. That kind of pissed me off!!

Overall, my 9 yr old daughter had a good time but if you can, go somewhere else. Sahara Sams was way better and so is Coco Keys and Great Wolf. #RantOver

Very outdated place. We stayed through our timeshare exchange and this place should be removed as part of it. We asked for a 2 bedroom place, we normally get condos, but they gave us a 2 bedroom hotel room. The bathrooms were small and in need of repairs. There were leak stains on the ceiling in the hall from our front door to the living room. The furniture was uncomfortable because it was so old. The floor in the kitchen was chipped, and the refrigerator had some kind of gross gunk under the produce bins that you could see by just opening up the door. Obviously they don't know how to clean. If that all wasn't bad enough, anything you wanted to do, such as waterpark, bowling, theatre, you had to pay extra for. I have never stayed at a place with waterparks, etc attached to it that I had to pay extra to use. Most, not all, of the workers there were at best uninformed and unwilling to find out anything and at worst rude, and very snotty. Also seeing as we were staying in a hotel setting, there were kids and adults making a lot of noise up and down the halls and running/chasing each other at all times of the day and night. I am all for having a good time, but when you are in a common area very late at night, have some respect. Would not recommend this place and definitely would not stay here again.

This place is all about getting the cash!

This place is all about getting the cash!
Find them through an online discount site,
We got wacked for 250.00 a night 28.00 per person for the water slide every day, bowling movie, theater, arcade all at a above average price for similar situations,
We went as a group of over 100 families, were told we were getting a good discount!
While there we spoke to other quest that were just 1 family that got the 90.00 a night deal with free park entry included, large meal vouchers and free additional entertainment choices,
I would never do another group function, this group wasn't even a high profit Corporation, it was more of a special needs group with limited funding.

I've had different encounters where the ladies at the front desk I have spoken with were very rude and not understanding. I get people make mistakes and miscommunication is likely, however I did not feel heard nor respected. I've also had to reach out 3 times after checking in Thursday about my room telephones not working and someone just came to check it the following Tuesday morning. My last straw was the linen exchange with housekeeping and how rude the guy came to my door as well as the person who I talked to at the front desk about the exchange. All of this has made me come to the decision to depart this resort before my check out date. I myself work in customer service and did not pay good money to come here and feel unappreciated. As nice as the activities and food may be, unfortunately I will not recommend this place to anyone. The blender was broken and dirty, the dish rack was filthy, and my room is missing it's hair dryer.

We go here every year for Christmas. We have doing this for several years. We get a couple of units in the Willowbrook section. Fireplace on both sidss of the unit. A nice hot tub in the unit as well. There are a number of things at the main lodge including a first run movie theatre. It was recently remodeled after new owners took over. You can cook in your unit, eat at one of the few eating choices at the resort. There is a 35,000 sq ft water park inside the resort as well.

Had a great time at the resort. My niece held her babyshower at the resort. I also browsed around and saw the indoor pool, hot tub, ping pong table and other fun things that were accessable. Had a couple drinks at the bar and enjoyed every minute at the event, there was never a dull moment when i was there.

Do not stay at the lodge, gross, outdated, and bugs! The front desk helped us get a different room in the galleria, but they shouldn't even allow rooms in the lodge to be rented in the first place! You couldn't pay me to stay there! The rest of the resort seems clean and has friendly staff!

This was the worst Hotel we have ever stayed at. We did not get the rooms we booked. I booked 2 rooms with Queen Size Beds, we were given a room with one full size bed and a pull out couch. When we went to the front desk they said that was an upgrade. To me it was a down grade, I had no intentions on using a kitchen, if I wanted to make beds I would have stayed home.
The best part was we had to take 3 elevators and 2 flights of steps to get to our rooms. Beside the fact there were no signs telling us how to get to our rooms. This Hotel is disgusting, for dinner they had a buffet the food was not edible. We couldn't sit in the bar area where they have tables because during dinner they run bingo. I would never go back there, besides half of the things were closed due to renovations.

For a resort this place gets a 1.star. If they would drop the resort title it would have gotten a 3.. we paid over $400 for 2 nights.. at check in they did not explain the water park was not included in our stay. Then let's go to the room..horribly outdated, mattress was lumpy, only 1 night stand so one of our things had to go on the floor. no dusting has taken place because the fans were caked with dust. The outdated shower head produced horrible water pressure for a shower (good thing they didn't run out of hot water) Then the food was absolutely disgusting from the water park..we got a cheeseburger and a turkey burger, took one bite and didn't touch it again. The amenties would be great if they would update them,.guest paying that much a night, you should be able.to make sure everything is clean and newer..the basketball court and tennis courts were so dingy and dusty. The basketballs were bare with no grip. ( The gentleman who was attending to the tennis courts was extremely nice and wonderful!! That is honestly the only positive) oh last thing as far as cleanliness cobwebs in the stairwells, oh and they want to make sure their guests get their exercise because we were on the 5th floor and the elevator had a sign out of order. So we either had to walk down and back up or go outside and drive down and then drive back up. Will never stay again.. look for other resorts and spend the extra money to be satisfied... Oh and the front desk doesn't even have toothbrushes in case you forget yours. Most stressful resort I have ever been to
. This was a medicore hotel and a 1 star resort. Spend your money somewhere else!!!

This is the first time we were here. Clean, well kept, pleasant atmosphere. Lots to do. Well mannered people around, mostly families. Other guests and staff were pleasant and friendly. DJ in common area was a nice touch with lots of children dancing and families. Pool and hot tub with kites overhead is a nice looking area. The arcade was nice with the bowling area right there.

I don't know what to say. The staff was decent. But the place is way outdated. I was highly disappointed about how the resort is open to the public to just come in and enjoy the accommodations that the guest that pay for. The bowling alley were over ran with people who weren't even staying at the resort. I feel if you want to enjoy the accommodations you should pay to stay there and enjoy it. I highly doubt I'LL be back.

Awful experience! Never gain will I visit this resort. The room was dirty, appliances need upgrading, and the customer service was the worst. My family and I visit Poconos often and stay decided to give this resort a try we ll not a good choice. The only good thing about this resort was the front door greeters and some of the resort workers but the front desk staff were nasty and not helpful at all.

Had problems with appliances not working. The indoor pool deck was dirty. Loved the jetted tubs. Rooms were nice. Fire alarm went off several times causing the building to need evacuating in the freezing cold. Planned activities were ok, nothing too exciting. Christmas trees and Christmas decorations were nice. Loved the gas fireplaces. Would stay here again.

The location is great with the resort being near a forest-type area making you surrounded by nature. The rooms of the resort are very old with dated furniture. Fortunately, you won't be spending much time there because the resort has a pool, an arcade, a theater, bowling, ping pong, and a few other activities. The location has many diners but the food of the Split Rock Grill in the resort was fantastic. Many of the staff members were nice as well. The wifi isn't too good with service frequently stuttering. Overall, Split Rock Resort doesn't do anything to make itself stand out from other resorts so I'd day it deserves an average rating.

It has its pros and cons a nd if we w old of known the cigar fest was in town we probably would not of booked our timeshare weekend stay. It was extremely overcrowded which left us with no parking and driving in the back parking lots in the mud. Our suite was not in the main resort. Plus our hotel needed some cleaning it was dirty with the bathroom and sheets. Otherwise the staff was very nice. Very pricey for cheap snacks and the drinks all the bartenders who are familiar with cocktails we're attending the cigar fest which superseded the resort with Families who came for the water park not the function out in the parking lot. To me that was really tasteless and unprofessional on the resorts part. That pretty much let us know we obviously were not that important enough we were just a number to them not a priority. But I though our money was Green . Now one thing I found disturbing is now this is a water park, a family resort right?! Now you have all these people right in front of the resort smoking by the doors and all over. Hello I look, don't you see all these children?! Is that not s huge red light or a concern to anyone? I work EMS and I'll be damned if I have my child be surrounded by 2nd hand smoke and ignorant idiots who obviously have their heads up their ass's and don't have 1 concern seeing infants and at least be away from the front entrance and be back down by the tents. Like really. I just don't get why this water park would even be ok to agree to doing this event. So let me get into the water park, it is not huge. It's small compared to Kalahari, great wolf and all others. They have a few slides. Basically it's for probably 9 and under. An indoor pool and 1 hot tub and that's small. I see the older adults in that area mainly. They have a food court which you pay 8.00 and up for as hot dog and hamburgers etc. They have a tiki bar next to the food court but that was closed due to the bartender shortage. The water park closes 8pm on Saturday. They have bingo daily every 7pm and a DJ on the weekends starting at 8pm downstairs in the main resort til 11pm. I believe in 2020 they are putting a Aquarium in near Kalahari which is 25 mins away. They resort has a game area bowling, arcade which is blah. Also they are adding new villas in the resort and updating. They have a nice beach with paddle boats, kayaks lots of trails and the well known Split Rock that was cut by a Glacier and that is how the resort got the name. All in all if you like a quick getaway and the quietness, camping and outdoors stuff. You can always utilize the resorts for the day. It's cheaper that way.

I have been coming to split rock on and off for a long time and one thing I have noticed is they have not updated this place at all on all the years. It just starting to look old and run down.

My reservation were for the Galatia and when I checked in the told me I was in Willowbrook. The rooms were nice but this was now what were reserved. I was told at the front desk that this is all they had.

If you are planning on coming here and want to do anything on the internet don t waste your time. The internet in the main building has to be the worst internet ever. Not sure why in the day and age they can t supply internet that actually works.

What can I say, most of my reviews are generous and give the benefit of the doubt but this place just ticked a few too many boxes in my dislike column to give it a good review.

The place is seriously dated, the mattresses you can feel every coil, the air conditioning was either too cold or too hot.

The buildings are too far apart, everything just seems a bit too small. Not really much here to talk great about. I gave it two stars because the price was really good and the people were nice. It may be a good place for those on a budget and bring their own food. I would give it 3 stars but for me I would never come back here again, its not a terrible place just nothing here to bring me back.

The rooms had a list wrong with it besides the smell. If you are into an expensive truck stop motel accommodations in a hotel building, then go check the place out. Out dated and the surcharges resort fee in general is all BS. ... I tried to reach someone on the managment team, seems like they are non existent, the oldest excuses in the book was used, (checked out on a sunday)- "the manager is on a conference call, can you comeback or call back later?" Well we did call back later and the conference call was on going 4 hours later.
please, im open for anyone to change my mind, this place is a dump, past its prime, needs a COMPLETE overhaul given the customer service provided was rude.

I've come several times and won't be coming back. The pull out couch was rigged with wire, which was uncomfortable and dangerous. The stove, toilet, and dishwasher were all broke. Our neighbor said when they checked in their room was filthy and has old clothes on the floor from previous guests. Food is overpriced and mediocre at best. Waterpark is good for younger kids, but be careful. I saw a kid puke in the park and was walking around looking for his parental group. A kid walked him over to the wave pool and washed him up. No staff noticed this, I told them and began to leave. We were almost out when they finally had everyone get out of the wave pool and shocked it. The lake and beach was okay. But the bathroom was nasty. I saw bloody toilet paper on the floor and it smelled nasty. Didn't see anyone come to clean it all day. When checking out I asked if there were anymore luggage carts since I hadn't seen any for almost 2 hours in the lobby. The staff at the counter rudely told me to wait. I'm just over it. Better service and amenities at other resorts like Great Wolf.

I've stayed at worse, the rooms are in bad need of an update. It feels like the 80's. The shower constantly ran, not dripped and the drainage system for the roof must of ran inside the wall of my bedroom. Because when it rained outside that is what you heard. I guess it's as expensive as it is because of location, which is very quiet and picturesque. The staff is nice.

Leaving aside the nasty smell, only one elevator for a whole hotel and broken machines in the game room: the one thing I couldn't stand is how nasty everyone was. With the exception of the two young man and girl at the icecream shop, these two were so nice and kind. From the check in people, helpers at game room and even the jerk bartender at the lake, one miserable person after another one. The owner must be an Ebenezer Scrooge cause his people behave like we clients need to be punished.

We've been timeshare owners here for 30 years. A lot has been added, but a lot has stayed the same. We stay in the villas. Having a full kitchen is great. The villas have been slightly updated, but really could use an overhaul. My girls love the waterpark, but I feel people who have already spent money to stay here should get a discount. The pools used to be wonderful, but now are overrun with waterpark people instead of resort guests and there is no policing of this whatsoever. The mini golf is fun. The lake beach and the meadow and the little playgrounds used to be nice, but again have been taken over by people who are not guests of the resort. I used to enjoy the amenities, but now I can't because nothing is enforced. Now, van-fulls from NY and NJ are enjoying the things I have paid for.
