In my case, I didn't go on a SpiceRoads trip, but my friends and I rented a few bikes from them and did our own road trip for a week. The bikes were of excellent quality, but above all, the willingness of the Spice Roads staff to advise and efficiently organize the rentals was outstanding. Their staff is superb, with special thanks to Khun Looksorn... terrific ! I can't wait to go on a full SpiceRoads tour one day.

Cycle tour done in Myanmar from Yangon to Yangon. Really worth it. Beautiful nature, friendly people, wonderfully cycled!
We were accompanied by the sympathetic Thein, who gave us an enormous amount of explanation about the culture, nature, Buddhism and by two car assistants , Moe and Soe , who spoiled us with delicious snacks and were always busy for us. Together they formed a super enthusiastic team !!
The hotels where we stayed were always very beautiful and in charming places. The restaurants were also well chosen. We have been able to taste local dishes and specialties!
Thank you Spice Roads and team for this fun, interesting trip!
Small note: avoid the busy roads. The countryside is more interesting and healthier for sports experience.

We just returned from a 4 day guided cycling tour ...

We just returned from a 4 day guided cycling tour in part of Kerala land. It was absolutely top notch. Our guide , Shibu, was amazing. Total proficiency and knowledge of the route. Along with his colleague Renju, who drove the bus that accompanied us the entire journey. They took care of e v e r y t h i n g ! The bikes were ready every morning with tires full, water bottles full etc...
The entire trip was just as promised. Great hotels , amazing staff everywhere. Fascinating routes and scenery.
Highly recommended company. Spiceroads certainly know their business.

My friend and I took the 25km Ayutthaya trip. What we got? We visited 3+ must-see temples. The ruins of those temples was magnificent. Our amazing tour guide Tony is very knowledgable. And then we cycled across rice fields and small villages. The scenery was fantastic. At the last stop, we visited the summer palace, a beautiful place.

I like the whole experience. Tony (our tour guide) and Wan (the driver) took care of us so well. We are very thankful!

I'd like to mention that we had a problem to pay online. But Haru from Spiceroads contacted me promptly and allowed me to see her in the office on a Sunday when they normally are close. This made the trip possible!

My wife and I did the Gobi Desert tour in 2019. Un...

My wife and I did the Gobi Desert tour in 2019. Unfortunately at the time of this review it was apparent that Spice Roads had not actually experienced the details of this excursion and as a result the description on the website is very inaccurate and I feel slightly misleading. For context, my wife and I are very athletic, outdoorsy people and also have mountain biking experience in the USA. At the time this would have been our first multiple night off road bike tour. I waited a few months before writing this to see if after some time and more days on a mountain bike back home would change my mind about the bad parts.

The Good: Excellent and experienced guides, food was very good and clean (no one got sick), beautiful scenery (amazing stars at night!), we also got very lucky with the weather overall (August).

The Bad: Some thing to be aware of that I feel is not advertised: the terrain is horrible and I feel really spoils the trip. Our trip was ~ 400km and I would say 85% of that is on washboard roads. The areas you go thru see a lot of tourism vans and the unpaved roads suffer tremendously. I would equate the overall experience to riding a jack hammer with wheels on a mostly flat and straight road. The really cool red rock canyon picture on the website is a ~30-45 minute excursion loop thru a park after which you jump back onto the jack hammer roads. Also be aware, that red rock excursion would be graded a black diamond run in the states for sure as it is very exposed in certain places.

The aftermath: Our entire group (guides included) had sore wrists and bottoms at the end of every day. If you need to test your mental fortitude on your vacation this is the trip for you, although renting a jackhammer on a nice week of weather for 6 hours a day would be much cheaper. If you would rather have a fun mountain biking tour our guides recommended visiting the central and northern parts of Mongolia.

Spice roads was sympathetic in hearing our complaints and did process a partial refund, I would probably try them again but not on a trip that had zero reviews. The fact that they sub-contract some of their trips out means you are going to roll the dice and have to trust the description on the website.

Great tour in the Kanchanaburi Hills. Nice routes, good organization, nice Thai tour guides who speak good English. Good food every 30km, refill bottles, fruit bars everything you need is available. Hotels are mostly good, typical local food. Overall, we were very satisfied.
