Very nice bar and brewery. The tour was very interesting, the guide was funny and informative, and was to the point.
Decent selection of beers. Street tacos on Thursday were really good
I attended a special event here and so I can only review the darker beers I sampled:
** Scarface Imperial Stout (Bourbon Barrel Aged)
** Butchertown Black Ale
Of the two, the Butchertown Black Ale was smoother and had a nice chocolate, nutty flavor.
I liked the dark lighting and vignettes on the wall, with the "sneaky" pair of eyes alluding to "Speakeasy."
The tour was led by a charming beer geek; while it wasn't as great as Boulevard Brewing Company's tour (which is a huge, state of the art facility so I'm not sure it's fair to compare!), it was informative. I'm not sure if they offer free samples at the end of a regular tour since we were at a hosted event.
Koo place to chill after work with friends nice service
One of my 6 favorite breweries. If I must go to the bay area, I always have to stop by here. I'm so glad that they were brought back to life.
My favorites, in approximate order:
Pariah
Battle Mage
Speakeasy
Sierra Nevada
Stone
Ninkasi
Speakeasy is an amazing gem in SF. Friendly staff, delicious libations, and a place full of character. Loving all the design elements and on site brewing equipment.
First time was blown away! Great place for a beer or two. Nice ambiance, there was a live band when I went, great beer options, and parking out front. They have events so check out their events page. I'm getting my Speakeasy hoodie, soon!
