I had a surprisingly pleasant conversation today filing an complaint on Lt. Bush.

I was pulled over this morning but did not know why. I didn t ask any questions to the officer until he checked my license and registration because I know he didn t know who I was and I didn t want things to get worse before I knew what the issue was in the first place. After he handed my license back to me I asked the simple question of why was I pulled over. The officer got offended and started threatening to have me tied up in court etc. I was calm the whole time and simply asked for his badge number his reply was Lt. Bush and I am the BOSS . I don t work for the police dept so the assumption was he was the shift boss.

I went in to file a complaint and was surprised when I got to speak to Lt. Bradley and one of his higher ups. (Sorry I forget your name if you see this)... But they listened to my entire issue with the Lt. And even though one of their responses was sometime cops have a bad day (which is no excuse to mistreat or misuse your authority) I feel they took what I was saying seriously and I may have made a difference by explaining why I think this particular cop needs to be refreshed on who he was actually supposed to be protecting and serving. Not to say I should be catered to but someone simply asking why they were pulled over is not in anyway offensive or out of line. The Lt. Never gave me a valid reason but I feel if the public can keep an open dialogue with the officers who can correct their departments and communicate at least where they could have been coming from without masking the truth or covering up we can begin to mend our relationship with Citizens on patrol as a whole. I m giving this police department 4 stars because there is still work to be done but I do appreciate them for having the open door to hear what the community (me) has to say.

I missed the opportunity to bond over the concept of a book I read with one of the cops taking my complaint. (Start with why) The concept was when you stop focusing on what you do but why you do it your perspective may reset so you can aim your mission at maybe a goal bigger then you or your ego. Being a boss or Lt. shouldn t be the highlight of your career or what you throw at people. It should be the badge that you wear because you are the example of what fine policing is and should be.

If you took the time to read this thanks.

. I hope a supervisor sees this and gets their hours straightened out. The department personnel I needed to see works from 8 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. I arrived at 4:30 p.m. and was told that they were gone and that they were the correct hours of 8 to 5 PM. Well its 4:30. I have a lot of compassion for law enforcement but apparently some of these people have Bankers hours or better. Just watch the girl who told me they were supposed to close at 5 walk out of here at 20 minutes before 5. Nice.

I think that Sheriff Chuck Wright is the best in all counties, he's honest and I would love to see him teach Cherokee Co the way to run an honest jail. I admire Sheriff Chuck Wright, we need more like him.

My neighbor called your finest officers on me the other day. I knew what I was doing was within my legal rights and your officers showed up and were very courteous and understanding. I'm not sure of everything they said to her, but at least she knows not to waste the departments time any further. Your officers were a pleasure to deal with and I wanted to say that I'm thankful for the officers in my community, you guy's rock.
