Hotel is a bit tired and poorly managed! When we arrived at noon on a rainy day, the lobby lounge/bar was crowded because everyone was indoors and folks like us, who were just arriving from the airport were unable to check in (its 4pm check in). The hotel mgmt clearly should have expected the lounge would be packed, yet they only had one slow footed bar tended, who had no help. Needless to say, you waited forever to get a drink and the bar tender would just ignore you! The next day we went to play golf and checked in at the pro shop. They had decent rentals, but not a single golf ball they to sell for us to play. In 40 years of golfing, I've never been to a pro shop that didn't have golf balls! Nor did they have XL golf clubs, but they did have plenty of attitude! Another example of poor mgmt is at the Inn down by the dock. The shuttle provides a free ferry shuttle to Hamilton and last ferry is 4:30. We figured we would get a drink at the inn and take in the view wile we waited for the ferry to depart as did several other hotel guests we ran into at the dock, but the bar at the dock doesn't open until 5pm! Insane! The hotel needs better management and needs some sprucing up! And clean up the seaweed at the beach!

The hotel needs updates. I visited a couple of years ago and it was wonderful but apparently it has been sold 2 years ago and nothing has been changed. Everything in the property is pricey. The algae on the beach doesn't get cleaned and they ran out of towels by 10 in the morning. Its too bad because Bermuda is stunning and this was a great resort.

The hotel is well appointed, with spacious rooms and beautiful views of either the Great Sound or the South Shore. The beds are comfortable, and the bathroom in our room was spacious also. There are a number of great restaurants to choose from on the property, including a coffee bar to help start the day. There is an indoor pool and an outdoor pool, plus a small shallow pool with a mini slide for the kids. Willowstream Spa is located at the hotel and is a wonderful place to unwind with a great treatment. Our stay was during the Christmas period and the hotel was beautifully decorated... like a white winter wonderland. There was even a giant gingerbread man wearing Bermuda shorts!

Booked two rooms that were not together, but the hotel staff accommodated me so that my two rooms are adjoining. The concierge was extremely helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. The welcoming staff was respectful and eager to lend a hand without the quiet expectation of a tip.

The restaurants were excellent in all ways. The live band on the weekends is a great source of entertainment, especially because there isn't much to do after dark. The pool is 24/7, which is a plus because swimming at night was both relaxing and romantic.

The shuttles to various parts of the hotel amenities (e.g., beach, golf course) are frequent and clean. The Fairmont Southampton beach is literally next to the famous Horseshoe Bay beach, but both beaches are great. The golf course has beautiful scenery, and one should not underestimate the par 3 of the course. The elevations make for tricky shots.

The hallways and other neighbors were quiet for the most part, and the room service is on point.

I'm definitely returning here when, not if, I come back to Bermuda.

Oh, and the scuba diving lesson and experience were affordable and recommended.

One of the best hotels on the island. The grounds are kept in pristine conditions. The rooms are very nice, clean and have free wifi. The staff are great and are always friendly. I recommend paying the extra for an ocean view - the views will speak for themselves.

I couldn t wait to complete my stay here to post a review. This hotel is exceptional in so many ways, an iconic property with a beautiful pink sand beach, an awesome Golf course, loads of entertainment and F&B options to choose from. My family planned to stay here for 5 days, we are currently on day 3 and still have to plan a meal at Waterloo Inn and Boundary.
The staff here makes the hotel stand out from the rest, everyone we met has been hospitable and made my family feel at home. A special mention to Danielle Castle and her rooms team: At Fairmont Gold, Rachel and her team (Pascoal, Rolly and Thomas) took care of us. Carol at the Front Desk gave great suggestions for things we should do here.
I also played a round of golf at Turtle Hill and had the honor of meeting Paul (Director of Golf). He was gracious enough to give us some valuable tips too.
Overall an awesome stay here, would recommend everyone to visit this hotel while in Bermuda.

My vacation to the Fairmont was awarded to my boyfriend for top performance with his company. We've now been on 3 trips to luxury hotels, one other being a Fairmont, and this is by far our favorite. The Windows on the Sound breakfast buffet was delicious every morning. They provided white tablecloths, full wait staff, and an omelet bar. The pool was easily accessed. There are free tennis rentals and low charge snorkeling rentals at the beach. The staff go above and beyond to ensure you're having a great time. They all are knowledgeable about transportation throughout the island as well. Concierge helped us plan fun excursions. The hotel's beach is gorgeous, and it also borders Horseshoe Bay, that has it's own series of coves. I would recommend a stay here for anyone wanting a dream vacation and to get away.

Clean , large bedrooms, great friendly staff amazing pools but ....... ?
Things are shut in early February and you are not told this. The meal plan is excellent but with half the places to eat, closed, then you are limited. The food plan also caused confusion as to what drinks are included. Make sure you know from day one. Also the food plan includes the food tips so don t tip for the food ,only tip for the drinks. The food however is amazing. Would have been 5 stars if the food plan was explained better and if ALL the restaurants were open. I would come back but perhaps in the summer.

Some of the rooms are dated but the excellent service from the Staff and amenities combined make this property 5 stars. The bottom 2 floors are renovated nicer. Kierra, Cheryl, Princine, Malcaisa(sorry sp) and others on the Gold level, Gym and concierge area all contributed to making my bday week amazing. Ty :)

A lovely treasure of the island, it definitely has historical charm but does need a bit more tender love and care. Service and staff friendliness was the best I have ever encountered, everyone was very welcoming and wonderful. One thing from my experience here during my quick weekend trip was that on my last day I wanted to hang out at the pool/hot tub before my flight in the late afternoon. There was a cute duck that pooped in the hot tub and then later followed me into the pool and attacked me. Cool, nature always has some cute surprises, but when we asked if we could use the indoor pool because of the incident the staff was not able to accommodate us. They just noted that it was unfortunate that it happened but the indoor pool was only available after 6pm, but by that time I would have been at the airport. I was just a little disappointed because it was something that could have easily elevated the customer experience and they just failed at that.

Last but not least, the light in the bathroom for one of my bathrooms did not work. And there was a cute little critter in my bathroom as well. The rating could have been worst but the service at the Waterlot and Jasmine was exceptional so I can t give that low of a rating.

Hotel is a bit dated however
Immaculately maintained. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Scooter / electric car rental on premises is convenient.
Beautiful indoor and outdoor pool kept very warm, with hot tubs all around.

Down side is food options are not great and pretty expensive. Roster Wooster was probably the best thing we're had of 6 meals we had there.

Centrally located so not bad getting around the island. Although not close to any off resort dining

Room was not ready at the guaranteed check-in. Don't bother with breakfast, over $20 for fruit rinds, stale bagels and some of the most burnt coffee I've tasted. The mark up on everything is appalling. Wanted to charge me delivery wine glasses and a bottle opener, which apparently should've already been in my room. There was a giant sharp piece of broken glass on the floor, which when I very nicely brought to their attention they were extremely dismissive. I don't ask for a lot but with such high rates these little problems just shouldn't be. Maybe my experience wasn't ideal but I'll be steering clear of this and any other Fairmont in the future.

Edit: I had to ask TWICE for my room to be cleared of glass. Only after I found more and explained exactly where it was was it cleaned but even after that a sharp needles was stepped on right next to the bed!!! Insane!

Nice place for families, couples may want to check out another place. 3 stars given price...seriously I felt violated by the prices here 420 a night all in and very few freebies..,I got the breakfast package each day, but it was only the continental breakfast, bread, juice, cold cuts. I would have expected that it would have included the omelets, sausages, hash browns but that was extra. Otherwise The beaches were good, and recommend the public beaches next to Fairmont breach, a little more rustic but secluded. Overall good stay but the price of everything was a seriously tough to swallow each day. Recommend drink prices come down to 10-12 each instead of 16-19 which doesn t include the mandatory gratuity of 17%, so 20+ a drink is obscene. Getting your bill at the end of the stay is rough. I spent 800 over 3 days, no idea how. I get it Bermuda is expensive but for those prices I need top of the top service, meals and drinks...not good, not great . Although will come back with little ones in tow and when my rear end has a chance to heal.

Perfect beach vacation! If you are looking for beaches, sun and adventures, this place is perfection. Resort runs from the north shore to the south shore with a private beach, indoor and outdoor pool, large gym overlooking the sea, multiple restaurants, AMAZING SERVICE the staff here are incredible. Strongly reco upgrading to Sea View, so worth it. Breakfast is top notch and you are a bit (pleasantly) isolated from the main dining options so I'd opt in for breakfast. Free ferry twice a day to and from Hamilton (my last two days I just did the round trip ferry ride, so beautiful). Super easy and safe transit system runs on either side of the hotel (north shore and south shore), takes you quickly to the opposite ends of the island. Rooms are large and cozy, lounging on that cozy chair while reading, sipping tea and watching the sun go down was heaven. Waking up to that fresh air, sounds of the waves and sun rising over the south shore...wish that was my every morning! Ideal location for nearby beaches, hikes and easy access to osland wide adventures!

Roaches, rats and terrible services! Deceptive room description, rude and inattentive staff, filthy private beach, no towels at the beach, no ice available on floors and no staff willing to help. You are better off ataying in a tent on one of the public beaches! Worst hotel experience ever! Yhe only thing lucurious about this hotel is the location. Resort restaurants were pretty good but could only get in to one of them as the concierge was quick to tell us the restaurants were booked but offerred no assistance of grounds or qith future reservations.
