Dr. Fritz and staff are outstanding. He removed my dog's cataracts and provided me a well-outlined treatment plan. it's such a pleasure to see my dog play, smile and no longer run into furniture. The few phone calls I made with concerns were responded to immediately. I'm extremely pleased with the staff and the care provided to my dog (and me).
Dr. Greller and the team at South Texas Veterinary Ophthalmology are professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I have interacted with them both as a pet owner and as a veterinarian who refers patients to their clinic. When I brought my dog to them for possible cataracts they took the time to listen to my concerns and answer all of my questions. I have also referred many patients to Dr. Greller for a wide variety of eye issues. Our clients appreciate their compassion and customer service. Most travel from several hours away because they offer the best care.
Fantastic doctor and personnel! This is our second veterinarian ophthalmologist on a year-long road to figuring out what's going on with our fur baby. Dr. Greller was very thorough in his examination and explanation of the issues. We are hopeful of our pup's prospects and happy to have found this office!
Eye surgery went great! They discovered glaucoma in the other eye and have had success in treating with eye drops to reduce pressure. Great staff and doctors, covid practices in place. Highly recommend!
Dr. Boyd and her staff were absolutely fantastic! They were very nice to my dog and made him feel comfortable. I'm very happy we came in to see what is going on with Krieger and had all my questions answered.
My little dog had surgery here on her eyes and Dr. Greller made us feel at ease and took a lot of time answering our questions. He is very thorough and thanks to him our dog has her eyesight back. Great facility with friendly staff.

Unfortunately I didn t have a great experience. My normal vet recommended them to me for my cats FIV. The first thing that bothered me was before even seeing my pet at the appointment, I had to give my credit card info. I know this place is in Sonterra but it felt wrong. They saw my pet and recommended a plan of action. They mentioned a follow up. No one ever called me to make that appointment. No big deal, I don t know if I would ve wanted one. The main thing that bothered me is when I called them to get an updated dosage for the daily medication I give my cat, I left a message and they never called me back. My original VCA vet has helped me much better. Handled getting my prescription refilled and to my cat as quickly as possible. To me it felt they were just looking out for my money, not my pet. Not sure if it was just a bad case but I didn t have a great experience.

My dog recently had surgery there. They were able to squeeze her in for an urgent visit on Monday due to a ruptured eye over the weekend and Tuesday she had her surgery. After I had picked her up from her surgery, they explained things to me very detailed. But me, being the pet owner that I am, have been overly paranoid about her recovery. Yesterday (Wednesday), I had some concerns. After calling and expressing this to them, I asked if I could send a picture to their email which they responded after it was sent saying her eye after the surgery looked normal per the doctor.
Today, I had some concerns because again, I m being paranoid. But they were closed. The on-call technician, Ben, answered my phone call after hours and happily answered all of my questions and concerns. He also was very knowledgeable and knew what he was talking about which made me feel much more at ease.
The surgery itself and medications are overwhelming and my dog has been extra clingy since everything has happened (I would be too though if I ruptured my eye). But she s worth it. I trust and have faith in the team at STVO and I appreciate them so much.
