I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISRESPECTED , THAT I HAD TO REMOVE MY CHILD , FROM THIS SCHOOL..THE MEDICAL DIRECTOR, THE MEDICAL TEACHER, ARE SO RACIST AT THIS SCHOOL....THIS SCHOOL NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT , NEEDS TO HIRE PROFESSIONALS....NOT ANY RANDOM TEACHERS OFF THE STREETS WITH NO CLASS..

I honestly love South Tech. I moved out of state the last 5 weeks of Sophomore year, and I miss it. The cosmetology program is great, and it helps you get a jump on your career. There are no sports, but that's not really a bad thing. I wish I could go back. The only bad thing I'd even say about it is some of the teachers and students. Some are very disrespectful, and some are nice. But it does depend on how YOU treat them. Other than that, I LOVE IT.

"I remember a bunch of girls would stare at me at lunch and make fun of me," "People would walk by me and laugh at me." My classmates refused to let me sit in the back of the bus, where the "cool people" sat. Every time i raised my hand in English class, kids yelled at me to "shut up." I was called "the weird girl." One girl told me she looked like "road kill." MAN I HATED IT GODDAMMIT, WHY WHY WHY!!!!!!!!!!

Not only was I harassed by students, I also had the pleasure of being harassed by the staff as well. I had a substitute tell me I would amount to absolutely nothing and yet I'm at south tech. They're students are disgusting with leaving gross feminine products everywhere in the bathrooms. The horrendous state of the school is pure madness. Not to mention the school food; just looking at it makes you sick. I can't even count the amount of times I've been sick since I went to south tech. You want a good education? Go to your home school.

I work here and the staff, students are the best!! The culture here at South Tech is just one of a kind. After 8 years here I am still proud to call this home. We are family who care about our students and are guiding them in the direction to be prepared for work , higher education and productive citizenship.

Horrible choice for EKG Technician Certification. The price is extremely high for the way the course is set up. The course is 1500 hours which it taught for supposedly 60 hours well that never happened. The instructor was not prepared with content material for EKG. Basically you pay for a course that you have to teach yourself. I don't recommend this school for EKG

While most of the teachers have been amazing and a pleasure to work with, the sub-par administration ruined the overall experience. They push needless certifications on the students in an effort to make it appear as if they're actually providing valuable skills. Regardless of academy you'll walk out with a photoshop certification and lacking any actual photoshop knowledge (because every student needs a certification for a $1000 program) and worse chance at colleges due to their sub-par SAT and overall college prep. What kind of highschool doesn't offer the SAT? Their AP class selection was painfully scarce as well, so your college credit options are few. Unless you're heading towards their nursing or music program, don't bother with south tech. If you want an actual education, decent highschool experience, and a cafeteria, look elsewhere.

Good school huh? There's no gym, cafeteria or sports team. Some staff members are rude and the students are the worst part. I remember one time last year a teacher sent a student to iss over a Roach. It also messed up my math credits, some teachers aren't good at teaching, too much drama here, and let's not forget about the fact that we have to wear scrubs every single day. You can't bring anything for holidays, like Christmas or valentines day. And the buses, God, it's a bug struggle everyday. Too crowded and I never get home at the time I'm supposed to.

I have been the Literacy Coach at SouthTech Academy for three years. After many years in education, including Teach for America in schools in California and Florida, and in the U.S. Peace Corps at schools overseas, I can say SouthTech has one of the best school environments I've experienced! Not only do we maintain highly rigorous academic standards, we provide deep and meaningful experience in various trades and careers on a daily basis for every student. Our diverse population includes students of various ethnicities, abilities, faiths, nationalities, orientations, gender identities and socioeconomic status. All students are welcomed and valued here! We have one of the highest graduation rates in all of Palm Beach County and regularly out-perform all other Title I schools on state assessments in Science, Math and Reading. (Our most recent 11/12th grade FCAT Reading scores were higher than the state and district averages.) Additionally, we excel at regional, state and national SkillsUSA competitions in our various career academies. Where else you can you work on a boat engine, give someone a fabulous make-over, bake delicious pastries or train a therapy dog for wounded veterans as part of your regular school day? SouthTech meets the needs of the whole student: academically, socially and emotionally!

I'm currently a student enrolled into the auto tech program and I love it... the atmosphere is peaceful and its easy to make new friends that have the same interests as you. the schedules are time limited from 7-1:42. even the classes are small limited to about 20 students each class. all the academy teachers here are all trained professionals as well as all the other teachers and staff. the guidance counselors are always willing to help with your problems and occasional questions about this school and graduation. even instead of the 24 credit requirement south tech gives you a total of 32 credits at the end. this school is worth looking into if your passionate about doing the things you love.
