South Hams District Council Review

This council is not only inefficient it is corrupt. Beware.

First day on holiday I received a parking ticket for parking in the Mayors Avenue car park in Dartmouth where I believed I had a permit to do so, even the car park entry sign matched up to the parking permit. As it turned out I should have parked in the public car park directly next door that didn't have a car park entry sign but too was called Mayors Avenue car park.

Come on South Hams District Council, people are not psychic put a sign on it!

This is an extremely unhelpful system, you are lucky if you actually get to speak to a person, if you do you seem to get fobbed off and made to send an email, which takes three days to get a reply, what a waste of time.

I have lived several places in England and abroad. South Hams council is the most inefficient, deceptive local authority I have ever encountered. They need to learn they are public servants . Thank God I don't pay them any council tax!!!

I have lived in South Hamm's for 18 months. It's not a bad place, but ready to move on now. The worst aspect of the area is South Hamm's district council. Any department, any service, or office is absolutely the most pathetic and inefficient to be found anywhere in the country. That includes Cornwall !!!!

I have been here on a few occasions usually relating to council tax or hb. I must say these guys are more than a few notches above the rest. And I actually get treated like a human being here :)

Nightmare council planning department. Destroyed my life. Stay away at all costs

Our grey bin has been sat outside our house now for a week. It should have been emptied on the 5th November, still waiting! I have reported it, but shdc website is a joke.

South hams should be more like south scam council the way the planning officers don't do there jobs right and con you out of money and the way they all closed together to cover things up they have done wrong why should they get away with it I'm sure im not the only one now the original planning officer lies

SHDC have just introduced a new recycling scheme - they should be congratulated for such POOR SERVICE. Our recycling was collected 4 days late, the staff made sure everyone in our street was woken on a Sunday morning, they broke our new recycling container and spread paper, cardboard, tins etc. across our street in Kingsbridge. Well done SHDC - "South Hams Does-it-again Council"....

Worst excuse of a service possible. We own a business and throughout the months we have been closed due to this 'pandemic' have had to battle so hard to get what we're due financially. They deliberately make it hard in the hope that you give up altogether and leave it. Not good.

Phoned the council offices today and spoke with both council Tax dept and Customer Services and found both to be more than helpfull.Can not fault them.Especially after dealing with Birmingham and North Warks.
